Sounds awesome, thanks for posting this. I'm trying to learn how to do it your way, but I can't figure out how you strum it to make it sound like that.
At the beginning, on the "A", for example, I think that you strum down on "1" and down on "2" and then three quicker ones on "3+", "4", and "4+".
But when you are strumming down on the "2" you somehow cut off the sound a bit so that it doesn't ring.
@trevorwulff Hey Trevor, I'm sure that you have figured it out by now, but just in case you havent, when you hear the sound being cut off, I'm just doing a palm mute with my right hand immediately after the downstroke Actually its not so much of a mute as hitting my palm (or rather the pad of muscle behind my thumb) off the strings and guitar body to give a percussive sound to it, its more to do with the rhythm of the song and getting that beat in there as a percussive sound.
@trevorwulff Whenever I learn a song on the acoustic guitar, I try and get elements of what all the instruments are playing in the original into it. I dare say that my "technique" would be frowned upon by some, but I think that so long as you have the bones and the song is recognisable then you have your performers discression to do as you please, sometimes it's good, other times not so... the main thing is have fun doing it!
@LARRYCORY1 Hey, thanks. Yes, I have several more videos on here like this one, just look up my channel page (billsounds) and you should be able to view them. Cheers, Bill.
@iemeler Hey man, thanks. the guitar is a Limited edition 1991 Washburn D24 SI, I've had it since new and it's been an excellent guitar. Sounds a whole lot better with a new set of 10's on it!
@CRAIGARRR Well no, thats not quite it! This is more of a simplified version for beginners, the actual song has lots of fiddly bits in it, just a tad complicated for beginners, but the idea here is to get you to play!
@Billsounds i havent yet. but i definitely will when i get the time to sit down and look around. this video was very easy to learn from...just what i was looking for. keep it up man!

Can you possibly explain how you do that?
It would be much appreciated,
And thanks again!!
