While the Power axe and Sword could also benefit brom the delayed burst, wouldn't it be better for the energy field to constantly coat the sharp edges so that its cutting power would be at its maximum power constantly?

Last time I checked starcraft was pretty original. Sure the armor was a bit stolen, but really the lore sets it apart along with a great storyline.

@RabidAnubis eldar can be compared very closely to Eldar. The zerg borrow ALOT from the tyranids. It's virtually no secret that the warcraft franchise for example was originally planned to be a warhammer game. It's nothing to attack blizzard for, the game is a lot of fun but to say starcraft ir completely original is kinda meh...

The chainsword is more of a slashing, and rending kind of weapon; one that sends torrents of blood in all directions, where the sword is a slicing cleanly and beheading in a single, clean stroke kinda deal. Think Gladiator, Braveheart, or Last Samurai. Chainsword, seems more like, well, Chainsword. Think Space Marine.
