I have taken many trips to a local Monastery listening to several songs of this nature. This song in particular has been one that has been dear to me. The illustration of such faithfulness to God in a sacred manner. The video reminds me of waking up in the early morning hours before the sun comes up and make the half hour drive to the Monastery in which I then experience the sun rise in the crisp of the morning....in solitude. Solitude is the furnace of transformation.

I'm sorry, I don't want to ruin it for anyone. Getting closer to God is what we want to do. The truth is that the Jesus is my "lover" stuff has always skeeved me out a bit. It just gets a bit weird, and I don't know if that is the way that God wants us to relate to Him.

The reality is that no one person is the "bride" of Christ. I cannot say that "I" am a bride. The Scriptures point to the bride as a group, the church.

Not to be blasphemous, and I don't think that the singer intended this, but It sounds like she is talking about having a sexual relationship with Jesus. Can't do it. I don't think that God expects me too either based on Scripture. Song of Songs is meant to be about human marriage.

But by these lyrics the singer's intention was to describe a relationship so close with God that she feels his presence even when it's only him and her. None of it is actually meant physically, but spiritually. It makes more sense as a believer because when you actually have an intimate relationship with God, you feel as if you are one with him.

It's talking about the metaphor from Song of Songs. It talks about "i am my lover's and he is mine, he feedeth among the lillies". That's like verse 6 or something. But basically, your heart is like a garden. Your Spirit that is. It's the 'secret place of the most high' that David talked about in Psalms. Umm, if you've ever read the book "The Shack" it makes total sense.

Your Spirit/ Heart is a garden, a wilderness type place, it's the place of encounter with God.
