What to use all depends on the terrain and temperature of the lake which determines a depth they would be at. If you were trolling I would use a silver needlefish or a gold kastmaster. When not trolling I use a size 16 treble hook with powerbait and a splitshot about 3 feet from the hook. Prolly too late on the comment but it's just general stuff for all. When not trolling I also use an ultralite pole with 2lb test because trout have great eye sight. Makes even small planters
