  • NO NO NO. SB5 must stay. Us working Ohioans in the private sector are being sqeezed to pay for the FAT pay, benefits, and especially the retirement package. We in the private sector are have not been keeping up with the state workers. You need to understand that property taxes are killing us. And colemans 1/2 percent (25% in real terms) did not help either. I get NO pension. NO benefits - when I retire at age 67. NO 30 and out. NO frills. Do you State workers understand?

  • @trekOCLVone if it had of passed workers would get more money since it didnt pass unions take the hard workers money i find it unfair republicans are rite unions are wrong issue two needs to be passed

  • Vote NO on Issue 2 on November 8th, actually.

  • We don't need more government regulation. This amendment would create another state agency to set standards which the Ohio Dept. of Agriculture can do already. I'm voting no.

  • Bravo! Thank you for putting this together! Excellent work!

  • This is amazing! All of the vids I've watched have contained people who have no idea what a "farm" is. That is the most ridiculous part of all of this. Hard working farmers don't dare or don't care to come to the skyline of the city backdrops and tell you how to run your business or when to take your breaks. Please know more than a pic provides or something you have gained from a slanted webpage before telling me what I need to do my job the best.

  • I've been to your farms and I've witnessed and documented horrific suffering there. That's why I'm voting NO on Issue 2.

  • funny how many bogus accounts are getting created to respond to No on 2 vids

  • LISTEN......Over 60,000 family farmers are asking you to vote yes on Issue 2. There are 5,500 family farmers asking you to vote no. Enough with the factory farms. I am a small family farmer. Some of these large farms are the cleanest, healthiest most comfortable farms for the animals. This video is untrustworthy and full of falsehoods. The organizations endorsing this issue are not big ag but family farmers and those opposing are all extremist groups including the Ohio Farmers Union.

  • "extremist groups"? now who is being misleading ?! i would rather do battle with animal rights groups then big AG and govt regulator boards . VOTE NO stay independent

  • MicheleSpecht

"Some of these large farms are the cleanest, healthiest most comfortable farms for the animals."

And many of them are not

"Enough with the factory farms. I am a small family farmer"

Do you use battery cages, gestation crates or, veal crates?

"Over 60,000 family farmers are asking you to vote yes on Issue 2"

Is this the number of members of the Farm Bureau?

  • Excellent ad from the animal rights cult. Packed full of lies to try to mislead the public. Most all of the cronies are among the animal rights groups which do not want this to pass so they can continue to try and whittle away at the laws and have an outright ban on any animal use. Issue 2 is for a constitutional ammendment for animal welfare not animal rights. The animal rights cults always try to project themselves as being for animal welfare and it's nothing but a lie. Voting for issue 2 ;^P

  • You call us the 'cult', when YOU'RE THE ONES TORTURING THE ANIMALS.

    FUNNY, HUH?

  • You accuse me of torturing animals yet you are not able to back it up. Not only is animal rights a cut but YOU are a liar. A cult for your information is great devotion to a person, idea, object, movement or work. Usually by a small group of people characterized by such devotion. Yes I said animal rights is a CULT. In my opinion it's also full of liars, thieves, arsonists, terrorists, extortionists and idiots who think only with emotion rather than logic.

  • Where's the logic in going to FLorida and getting a law pushed thru that removes gestation crates from sows with piglets? A sow can weigh as much as 800#s. Now let that pig roll over on 20# piglet and the piglet is crushed to death. All because animal rights idiots emotions make them think the sow is too cramped in a gestation crate which SAVES the piglets. You idiots didn't think of the wee little piglet being crushed to death. Real humane of you idiots. FUNNY, HUH?

  • furtrapppin ...how do you suppose Pigs and their ancestors survived millions of years without gestation crates to keep them from crushing their babies?

  • Just as they should in my opinion. If I were a pig farmer I wouldn't use them. The only reason I am for the issue is to try and put a stop to the animal rights cults from coming into the state trying to get their idiotic vegan ways pushed off onto others. I'm not the kind to force them to eat meat and they are never going to force me to eat vegan. I have no problem with killing and consuming as it has been done since the beginning of time as we know it.

  • "If I were a pig farmer I wouldn't use them"

If you buy pork at the store, you support their use..what is the differnce?

  • Comment removed

  • All the animal rights nuts can pack your bags and move if you don't like it passing. According to the stats I've seen it looks like it passed.

Now as far as the pig farmers using crates, if YOU don't like it DON'T buy it. I like bacon & ham and will continue to buy it. The pig is a farm animal and is food not a pet.

  • Now you are arguing both sides of the issue furtrappin.....either gestation crates are ok and you would use them or, they are not ok and should not be used. What is your real position?

BTW, I'm not going anywhere..see ya at the next election day.

  • Just because I would not use them does not mean I am against anyone using them. Don't confuse what I would do with what I wouldn't do but do not have a problem with. I am not a farmer by profession. I will not try to tell farmer how to raise their livestock. It is not my business. Apparently you think it is your business. What livestock do you raise for slaughter and public consumption?

  • furtrappin

Why would you not use them if you do not have a problem with them?

Yes, I think the unnecessary suffering of any sentient being is my business and should be everyones

Obviously, as a Vegan, I would not be raising animals for slaughter.

  • It is unnecessary for the rabbits, mice, voles, groundhogs, deer, fox, opossum, raccoons, etc to die just so you can have your vegan diet. Yet you have probably have no clue how YOUR food gets on YOUR plate. You have no idea how many animals died just to get power to your little nest box. I have never seen any vegans protesting the farmers how they grow your veggies because they use those inhumane tractors that run over little baby bunnies snuggled in their nest.

    Can you say hypocrite?

  • @furtrappin mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm rabbit stew i love deer and my cats love mice

  • If I were to own a farm I would not use them because I would not raise pigs for the public to consume and therefore I would not need to raise more than the land I had could support. I would enjoy raising other smaller animals. I enjoy knowing where my meat comes from and how it is processed. I don't need or desire you vegans telling me what I supposedly don't know.

  • furtrappin

You said above....If I were a pig farmer, I would not use them.....you are avoiding the question now.

BTW, I am very aware of where my food comes from and that there is some loss of life involved ...all I can do is minimize it as much as possible. A Vegan diet is the best way to do that...you do realize I hope that most grain grown in the world goes to feed livestock and not vegans.

  • I'm not avoiing any question I'm avoiding becoming a stinking pig farmer. I do not ever foresee raisng pigs for slaughter for the masses. Therfore I will never feel the need to save every dumb piglet from every dumb sow to feed myself, family and friends. Only the smarter ones will survive to be eaten later.

    Getting back to the issue...

It all revolves around two things and only two things. Logic vs emotion. It appears logic has won over emotion as far as issue 2 is concerned.

  • furtrappin

You certainly did avoid the question If you actually meant what you said in all of your posts. Perhaps you just misspoke.?

As far as emotion vs. logic goes, you seem to be the emotional one in this discussion.

  • @cujosdad id rather eat a pig and cow than eat grass for a livin

  • @cujosdad if u sell it u get more money

  • 'Yadda yadda yadda blah blah blah, I'm a selfish prick and I harm and kill animals because I'm a parasite'.

    YOU ARE PARASITIC SCUM.

    DISMISSED.

  • Dismissed? LMAO .|.. up yours you ugly vulture!

With over 25% of the votes in so far issue 2 appears like it is going to be approved. Currently it's 68% for and 32% against. :^P

  • As an after thought, IF it is a good law - pass a law. Don't use the Ohio Constitution as a shield to hide corporations from possible civil, legal and moral liabilities. Having said that i have no doubt it will pass - mostly because of voter ignorance.

  • Good grassroots work. Considering you don't have a multimillion dollar ad budget, professional graphic designers and an advertising department to design custom art, music and production it is clear you have a grasp of the fundamentals of the debate. If this passes it is one more example of the Ohio Constitution being abused so corporations have more protection then individuals.

  • This is beyond pathetic. Bad grammar, clip art, crappy music. Wow. Just awful.

  • Thanks for the feedback and debate. If you like the video, please tell all your friends and family about it. If we're going to overcome the millions of dollars spent on misinforming the public during this campaign, we need folks spreading the word!

  • Awesome job, Lauren!

FOR PUBLIC HEALTH, THE ENVIRONMENT AND ANIMAL WELFARE:

    VOTE NO ON ISSUE 2.

  • nice video...good accurate info!

  • You and I both know those were chickens packed for transport. And the way they live in your factory farms is actually WORSE than we see here. She gave you a break.

  • I personally don't consider a board loaded with Big Ag's cronies to be diverse.

What is really needed is glass walls on those buildings housing chickens in battery cages and pigs in gestation crates. And random public tours might be interesting. How about meet a veal calf in his crate day. Would you support that HotAir?

This bill is backed by factory farmers because they know the end is near...real family farms will only be harmed if it passes.

  • Excellent! Thanks for putting this together Lauren !!!
