  • WHERE'S THE BUS? Are you for hire? Then it's not called a bus but a home or RV. Sorry since the build was not done right by removing all the metal walls & ceiling to insulate the cavities your going to get very cold in there with the bus, windows too. Remove the floor to check for rust guess you didn't do that either. Looks like a bus not a motor home so won't be permitted in RV parks either. Check our website to learn more

  • no thanks...

  • I'd rather my children live in a bus and do the Lord's will in their lives then in a mansion out of His will:) What more could a mother ask for? The mansion will come when they're with Jesus anyway.

  • very nice....is the bus parked in the wild , or on a property not too far from civilization?the make of the interior ought to write a how to

  • Hey! Are you the guy from Rhett and Link???

  • @mcculfja nah hes not that bus looked different

  • cool pad brother. I bought a used travel trailer for $2,200 and parked it in a 25x25ft garage that i rent for my business. Been living in it for the last 4 months. cheap living for me

  • yes there is a toilet, it is just in the back of the bus, i had other facilities i could use instead of the portable one

  • I saw the shower but did not see toilet. Is there a toilet?

  • This was an awesome video! Great looking schoolie. We're venturing into another purchase of a bus. TobyMac soundtrack was a nice touch!

  • This guy should be on cribs.

  • this is really cool!! I drive a school bus and I love the job. I hope to convert a school bus to travel around in when I retire.

  • hey, there was a portable toilet that i kept in the back storage because i was able to use facilities at the church.

  • its great , just good for me but , where are the toilets ?

  • heating the bus by gas, there was a tank on the outside. the toilet was a port-a-toilet that i kept in the storage space because i was able to use facilities on the church grounds.

  • weres the toilet?

  • how are you heating the bus?

  • Cool, I would love to create something like that and use it. Not big on towing stuff. Nice work done the the Missionaries.

  • I actually really like that. I wouldn't mind living in that. It's minimal, I don't need a lot of space that looks perfect size. Did you convert it?

  • @idoltyler06 it is very comfortable and a great place to stay. unfortunately i was not the one to convert it. some missionary friends of mine did, they live on it when they are back int he states.

  • yes it can be driven, but no it has not been driving in at least 3 years.

  • can this bus be driven?

  • negative on that part, it is fixed

  • Does that top part lower down?

  • mmm id love to live on that bus with him :o)

  • i did start at the front door, look closely at the video. i take you onto the bus through the front door, then start back up again at the inside of the bus directing the camera right at the front door.

  • Why don't you start at the front door?

  • that sounds awesome!

  • i wanna live in a 90s AmTran RE i would put a bed on the engine cabinet and use the last 2 seats attached to the cabinet as a sofa

  • Thanks!

  • cool bus with jesus !

  • I've been thinking about buying one and fixing it up as good as this inside and burying it with about 1-2 feet of dirt up top. Would you ever consider that if you had a chance?

  • @thehilitereel well it is an interesting idea, the bus is actually not mine to bury but, i guess if you had the land and it was hidden away it would make for interesting living quarters. im assuming your burying it to keep the warmth in..?

  • @tudman33 That would be one reason yeah, cool in the summer too. Would be almost weather proof with tornado's and such. While no one would know that you're several feet underground. Though keeping it opperational and burrying it both have its negatives and positives.

  • What is the song

  • @SenurStickyBuns it's by toby mac, i forget the name. might be feeling fly.

  • Kool video! Do you have any space to grow your own fruits & veggies?

  • @1400deadwood um, as far as on the bus i would say no, but around the bus you could

  • Where do you go to the bathroom?

  • sounds like fun, but wouldn't it be easier (cheaper) to buy a used RV/camper?

  • Where do you poop?:)

  • Your bus don't look mobile. Do cops or the government ever bother you to move or force you to pay $ to stay there?

  • it is mobile just has not been in years. it resides on my church property so it is free to stay

  • I want your bus, is it for sale

  • Take out the shower and put in one from an RV that's all fiberglass and actually has a toilet added into it as well.

  • I'd live in it... Awesome man... I been thinking about buying a bus and turning it into a home.. I am a disabled vet and since i have travelling income, might as well get mobile! Just live a simple quiet life!

  • very true, best of luck to you man

  • @wholefoodssux-

Check out Uhaul, they sell the trucks when they retire them. I have seen 26 footers turned into something cool

  • very nice bus like the way the bottome was setup but u could have gotten more creative and built shelves or something upstairs on the loftarea just saying

  • Very nice and cosy. Thank you for sharing.

  • How do you keep your water and sewage tanks from freezing in the winter?

  • no sewage tank, just portable biffie. and water tank is on the inside under the last stair so it stays warm

  • Toilet ?

  • portable one, it stays in the shower

  • Ah!

    now I see

  • your bus looks more like a nice old house inside...cool

  • thanks

  • Sound like a great place to live if you want to save money.

  • exactly

  • Very nice. I am thinking after my retire I'll live in Bus. I will add couple of thing, 1) add a composite waterless toilet 2) some solar panel 3) a generator 4) auxiliary battery. 5) a 3-G modem. Bus has a lot of foam around the wall and is designed for traveling. To live 24 hr especially with kids, needs to have good air exhaust or covering the foam. Tire, bus paint, foam, engine emission has some sort of cancer hazard espeally for young, if you live 24 hr.

  • thats my type of lifestyle, maybe in the near future ill get a bus, yeah!!!

  • NICE!!

  • very nice bus ,I am looking at getting a school bus and doing the same with it. I will be living in it for a while maybe it will help us save some money .............who knows; more than anything I am looking foward to a different life style so do you regulate the temperture during the different seasons? and what do you think the operating cost would be for the venture?

  • awesome, it is definitely a money saver and different life style. as far as temperature goes i had two heaters, one main and one back up. then you just rent a tank from a gas company and heat your bus, it costed me like 500 all winter i think..sittin around seventy degrees in the bus. so yeah, but pretty much you just have to pay for gas. look into it, its an aweosme life style

  • bathroom?? where was that??

  • the bus was parked in the church parking lot, so i just used the church. but the but does have a port-a-poty. it was just in the storage.

  • great idea!

its like a college students dream!

  • Y ARE YOU BREATHING SO HARD? NICE BUS

  • Not bad idea

  • Wow, bad ass!

Can you still drive safely with the bus this way along with the added second story?

If I wanted to do a project like this how would I do it?

  • yeah its pretty sweet. and yes it can drive find with the second story, it is actually under the height of a semi so it is ligit. well if you were to build one, get a bus for starters, strip it, build a base ( flooring) some structure in the bus and use ur imagination from there

  • Very nice job . did you convert it ? i wanted to build a house bus but i have other plans now .

  • thanks, unfortunately no i was no the one to convert it. some friends of mine who did. very fun experience though i must say!

  • i had the temp sitting at about 70, and it actually stays heated very well. i did have the windows sealed like you would seal house windows.

  • do you travel in it ? and did you build it? what are the drive train spec. ?

  • Is there a toilet? Where is it located?

  • yes, there is a portable one, it was located in the shower, even though it is not shown in the video

  • dude that is friggin awesome.

  • cool!

  • thanks!

  • to bad its not drivable but its still a cool home if you are single person

  • exactly

  • i like how there is a random rifle and crutch in the back!

  • thats what i had stored in the back, i can see the humor though

  • One more thing, how did you get a wall on the back of the bus, is it a dry wall or something? I'd like to have a bathtub on the schoolbus, I wonder if it's possible? Is the schoolbus on your video medium sized or big size? And the zoning law, dmv, lets you live on a school bus?

  • the back wall it wood framed with insulation inbetween, and the bus is medium sized. and yes it's legal to live on the bus, as long as the plates are up to date your good to go!

  • That means you gotta pay auto insurance every month? If so, how much?

  • well the bus at the moment is immobile. it is sitting for the time being. but as far as insurance goes, i will have to ask the owners again, its an older 70's bus so, not sure if that would play a role in the cost of insurance but..ill do my best to find out

  • Tudman, how much in total did you spend on the schoolbous, after you've built everything, have all utilities installed?

  • let me get back to you on that one, see the i did not acutally build the bus. it is some missionary friends of mine. ill email them and ask. to my knowledge though, i would have to say a broad guess 5-8 k. with all installations. ill get back to you with the amount.

  • Thanks mate, I thought living on a bus is cheaper, now I'd think I rather have a used 60's, 70's mobile home for a couple of thousand dollars, since it'd be bigger than a school bus, but reusing a schoolbus for a house is actually pretty cool!

  • Is the air good in the bus? Does it have good ventilation?

  • yes, there are about 10 windows plus two top hatches that provide great air flow.

  • Brilliant, was wondering what it was like.

    What more could you need?

    Is the bus roadworthy?

  • oh, it was great. i really did enjoy it, and if you were planning some kind of long road trip or travel it would make perfect for it. the bus is road worthy, but it is an older bus so it does not hit the road all that much. it is great living though and suggest anyone who has a chance to live in one to do it!

  • tudman , how long is the bus?

  • off hand im not real sure, but if i was to take a guess, the inside of the bus living quarters is about 25-30 feet long. as far as a bus would be judged by how many seats, this bus in particular is not a large bus, more meduim sized.

  • gun case at 2:19, nice!

    google FREE MORGIE

    thanks!

  • is mildew a problem with the shower?

  • nope, not a problem at all

  • Will do, to make it easier, do you have AIM... Yahoo MEssenger? Msn Messenger? If you do please message me it makes it easier

  • thanks! May I ask how much water pumps go for?

  • not sure off the top of my head, but if you ask a local RV dealer he would be able to assist you in a water pump that would work well. since the bus is a home made rv practically, and when needed i see an rv dealer for parts. are you looking into building a bus? like this one?

  • yes.. RV's = wayyyyy too much to but especially because of the economy. I

  • sweet, let me know if you have any more questions other wise good luck with the project!

  • That's awesome! May I ask how you get the shower to work, and it looked like u had electricity?

  • the bus is equiped with a water pump that is for the sink and shower, and yes there is electricity, you can either plug into a building or it also has a few car batteries set aside for electricity on the bus. hope that helped

  • it is a 4 season bus, it is eqpipped with two heaters, both able to heat the whole bus, but i only use one and the other as a back up just incase. it does heat fine in the winter too. as far as driving goes, this bus in particular is a little older, it does run but it's an older one so, although i have not actually driven it before. it has had many miles put on it though as i know it. hopefully that helps, thanks!

  • how does it weather the elements? does it heat in winter? also can it be driven? Thanks - cool bus.

  • cool man, good luck to you living in the tipi. it is fun living differently than everyone else. if you are ever interested in taking on a bus project let me know and ill give you some help. glad to hear from you, and good luck with the tipi, let me know how it goes.

  • the bus has a portable toilet that you can move and requires changing when used. since i am staying at a place where i have a toilet available to me i choose to use that so i dont have to clean the portable one. but it equiped with a toilet. any other questions?

  • Cool Bus-

Looks like a good conversion-love the 2nd level.

  • thanks man! it definitely starts some fun conversations too. it is an awesome experience to live on it thats for sure. just curious how you came about the video?

  • Wow Thor! I like it.

Oh yeah I don't know you but my girlfriend does track so yeah.

    Anyways It's nice!

  • thanks. it's a fun place to live

  • nice video thor. very interesting....

    the Gnome

  • thanks

  • Wow, that is an amazing bus. I'm going to be working on living one as well as soon as I possibly can. :D

  • good luck to you! it's a great time. let me know how it goes

  • Your bus is definitely nicer than mine, lol. Looks like a great place to live.

  • it indeed is very nice. and i enjoy living in it very much

  • Hi, does your bus run? Do you travel? Living in what one drives makes sense, and gives you a lot more disposable income, to enjoy life.

  • hello, yes the bus does run...and no i dont travel in it. the bus is actualy some missionary friends of mine. they let me make good use of the bus when they are gone. they are missionaries in africa (gambia). and i dont travel in it, i leave that for the owners. :) it is a great place to live and i have loved every moment of it. thanks for the comment, feel free to ask anything else.
