Many thanks for putting this up. It is a remarkable over-view of the film and its ingredients, actors and all. A wonderful addition to the film, itself, and even another look at the novel.
Thank you for posting this interview. It brings a new ligntening to this wonderful movie bye James Ivory, which is probably one of his best films with "The Remains of the Day"
@babybirl009 to me hugh grant seemed like her did everything possible to avoide kissing him in the movie and I thougt if you are not even going to pretend you are into it(acting) for the sake of the movie the why take the part because you know that is what is going to be required of you.
@ericnfan You obviously do not realize that Clive feels like he must reject Maurice for a variety of reasons. It has absolutely nothing to do with Hugh Grant's acting and to say such a thing is ignorant and foolish
@740am to me it does have to do with hugh's acting so I stand by my statement. to me he is highly overrated. he does this i'm awkward because i'm british thing all the time in movies and yet i is supposed to be endearing. to me he does not get into he character that well and that is what i was referring to. to me colin firt i so much better when he plays awkward. when he does it it is charming.
@740am to me hugh grant could learn a thing or two from much better english actors such as colin firth or jeremy irons because they seem invested in their roles. the only times I happen to watch hugh grant in movies is when I want to watch other actor in the movie and he happens to be there like in the bridgetjonesdiaries movies. or in sense and sensibility he needed to take a note from alan rickman's subtle acting in that movie.
@ericnfan I believe you just want to hate Hugh Grant as many do. Hugh was very fitting to play Clive in this film I believe. I think he did a great job. To each their own.
just watched the movie and i loved it..left me in a strange kind of daze..wanting to know more..so here i am..really progressive movie for 20 yrs ago..great performances..
thanks for the deleted scenes too which added so muchto the plot.
@motherofpearl13 The interviews were filmed in 2001/2002 as they were setting up to release the Special Edition DVD, so it has been almost 10 years since it was filmed and the guys don't seem to have aged a day since =)
The movie itself still holds up after 23 years so I'd say that is a good sign. Thanks for posting these =)
@motherofpearl13 thank you very much posting this. Which DVD does this come from? I have already DVD of Maurice but not this included. Which one doe you have??? Please please let it me know. I've seen the movie recently and now just finisched read the book. I can't explain how deeply this film touched and touching me. Amazingly beaytiful novel and film!

An older Rupert Graves reminds me SO much of Keifer Sutherland!! lol

This is splendid. Rupert Graves, one sees and hears his brilliance and genius. Natural instincts. A true thespian in every way. Thank you.

Oh God, Rupert Graves without a Wiltshire accent! Feels like something has gone drastically wrong in the world.
Lovely to see everyone a bit older.

Hugh Grant lived in Shepherds Bush which is near Holland Park, in London. Very poch places anyway
WANK83 2 years ago
Holland Park, yes very posh indeed. Shepherd's Bush, within walking distance, but not posh at all ;-)
