Thanks for the upload, ive been on this ride twice, but it was so long ago i couldnt really remember it other than that i really loved it and bought a Figment cuddly toy the first time i went on it- we dont have Figment in England so i didnt even know who he was

I remember just when I got to visit Walt Disney World for the first time during 2000. At the time, I was 9, and due to my parents being Disney fans and antique shop owners, the pictures from this ride in some of the WDW related books made me really fascinated.

Then by the time I actually got there, I missed the closing down of the ride by a week, and had to see the lameness of the Eric Idle version.

The theme is....IMAGINATION?? Isn't that toooo broad? Then at the end we get a science/nature lesson? What the heck is this? I get that many of you are nostalgic here. I am a HUGE Disney park fan myself. I just don't get this ride!

@hididdleydee I believe that it helps to define how science connects to helping the imagination and vice versa. I was a young kid when they killed this ride and replaced it (to be frank, this is much better really..). From what I understand, the Dreamfinder is to help people learn, and Figment is there to be playful. E.P.C.O.T. , or Epcot as it is called now, is a whole theme park dedicated to learning and different ways of doing so. Futureworld is full of things to learn about!

I absolutely love that this is on here so I can enjoy Figment and the Dreamfinder! The new ride has absolutely destroyed one of my all-time favorite rides at Epcot :( Thank you for bringing me back to my childhood!

@danjuan21 Oh no...definitely not. The first time they tried redoing it, Figment wasnt even a part anymore, and they tried too hard to go with the whole 'technical institute' angle. Someone apparently wised up and put him back, but its certainly not the same.

Theyve been ruining a lot of things honestly. I wish theyd stop letting some unimagination jerk ruining all the GOOD classic rides by putting something with no life and lack of magic in its place. Walt Disney must be rolling in his grave

@danjuan21 The great irony is that the original version of this ride was actually very imaginative, and it was replaced with a version that feels sort of "phoned in" -- which is a shame in it of itself, but when the ride's about using your imagination and the designers don't seem to be taking that lesson to heart, the result falls flat. It's not completely terrible (it's amusing and a good way to get out of the sun for a bit, at the very least), but it can't hold a candle to the original.

The new version( Journey into Imagination: with Figment) is very inimaginative, cheap, and half- baked of what was once a great attraction. So if you would like to experiecne it in person. im crying now... remembering how it was when I was growing up.. 85 I think was the last time I saw this version of the ride before they tried to remove figment and bring him back for round 3 now

I WISH they would have or have.. archived the ride so that you could ride it virtually like you have done here in youtube... you are so lucky to record this..

My family went on vaction in 84 and 86 to Disney World.... I wish alot of those older rides were still around,,,, To actually relive those great memories,,,,Well the past is the past,,,,glade to see someone filmed some of the no-existent rides....thanks, for the memories......
