single player for now. The multiplayer version is still in development. You will probably enjoy this game though. It was made by the co-founder of Blizzard North, the division of Blizzard responsible for the Diablo franchise.

So far its only got singleplayer, Runic games is working on the multiplayer section as we speak (It will be released for free, so no worries, it'll most likely also cost no money to go online with it.)

but you can install a multiplayer mod in the mean time.

Well blizzard are just money whores now. Don't give a shi- about their players. This game is actually very fun. It seemed familiar, then i remember i had given Fate ago a while back, but i dropped it nearly instantly. This however has a different feel to it.

Level 33 Alchemist. Gonna retire soon and start a Vanquisher i think, seems more fun.

Except this comes with moding tools that let you create new levels, characters, and skills, plus an MMO version to be released (for free) with constant updates and better user support than Blizzard could ever dream of.

Oh, and, the entire D2 dev team left Blizzard and made this...

They are developing a single player version AND a MMOG version. The MMOG is a little ways off, but the single player version will be out soon. There isn't much info on the pricing for the MMOG version, but it could be comparable to that of Crimecraft-- unless they go the way of the item shop. There was talk of a monthly fee, though, at one of the conventions.
