There were not one, bur many other RUSSIAN actors besides Rolan Bikov - his wife Elena Sanayeva - the fairy, and famous SOVIET actors like - Frunzik Mkrtchan, Sofiko Chiaureli, for example. And uzbeks were mainly extras...And Faiziev, of course. This was Indo-SOVIET co-production! SuperHit in USSR!
As a few others have already stated in their comments in Russian: this film was a BLAST in Russia -- then AND now! Hema is not only an all-time hit in India; she broke records beyond the borders the minute her first film dropped! Call it luck or pure talent: she's got it, baby!!!!
Ouch!! Watch out, or else she might sting!! Queen bee of Hindi cinema out to get the bad boys with her tough attitude & no-nonsense demeanor. I love how she fools the others with her girlie-girl acts, but deep down inside, she's as tough as a rock, & as focused on the "prize" as though she's some spy of high stature. Dazzling in the golden attire, she's too hot to handle!! It's as if her look wasn't dangerous enough, they had to provide her with swords, too. You go, girl! Timeless icon!!!!
Not Russian but SOVIET, half of the scenes are shot in Uzbekistan and a lot of actors and dancers participated in the movie. Girls dancing with Hema are Uzbek.
@tarakkiyot Yes, you are correct. Even co-director is Latif Faiziyev - Uzbek filmmaker. Actually during film credits it is specifically titled Uzbek-Indian film, not Soviet or Russian. Only notable russian actor here is Rolan Bykov - main villain.
Love the video; I have been also looking for another song from this film, called, "Aaja Sar E Bazaar" It's Hema Malini singing a solo. I was wondering if you could upload that song too; it would be great to have all the songs of Alibaba available on youtube : )
janingrigory, you mean Saare Shahar Mein, right? I love that song. It's one of my favorites from the movie. I hope that someone gets the chance to upload it.
