  • how hard it is to put it on without getting any dust under it? cause that will really annoy me...

  • thanks for the tutorial, now im ready to buy both macbook pro 13 inch and zagg invisibleshield at the same time :)

  • The heat generated from the macbook pro would not ruin or melt the zagg cover??

  • And which do you think is better invisible shield or ghost armour???

  • I had no idea you were gay, I was kinda hoping so, but who knows -3

  • hey man where can i buy the invisible shield for my laptop??? macbook pro 13 inch

  • @yankane88 zagg.com

  • can't apply it without there getting dust or black dots under the sides and can't clean the shield for it. worst buy for me!

  • Do these invisible shields work for the NEW Macbook Pros? Because I just ordered a macbook pro 17inch from the Apple store.

Also...do you use a protective cover or sleeve for your macbook in conjunction with that protective shield? If so, what kind do you suggest?

  • @TheMrAdrianG

google invisibleshield you will find what you are looking for

  • can you take it to apple store for them to fit

  • Just loved the way you care for your Macbook Pro... trying to achieve the best perfection you can... You really do deserve the Macbook Pro you own! Its really awesome!

  • Try throwing it off your porch, dummy.

  • I DIDN'T CLICK ON THE FUCKING VIDEO TO SEE AN AD!!! YOUTUBE IS A PIECE OF SHIT NOW.

  • After watching this for the second time, I just realize that the feets aren't protected. Is there a solution you can recommend for the (black) feets?

  • This is a contribution to the Youtube community and the world. Thank you for sharing.

Initially I thought it would be a very difficult task to apply the shield/film but it doesn't look too bad. Thanks.

  • I bet you can get at least one more bracelet on.

  • not the macbook pro (replaceble battery)

  • @harvixa It is a MacBook Pro.

  • Wtf just make a bath with dat spray and put ur laptop in it

  • you dont have to spray it once you get it on the laptop to bc its not on the sticky side

  • Hey will you do me a big favor and put on a speck case on it WITH the invisible shield? ^^ I really wanna know if it still fits. I know this may sound like such a stupid question but I wanna have the shield and an outer case for it. Will you make the video of you putting a speck see thru case on it for me? ^^ thanks!!

  • i own a macbook pro, the whole back is one piece on all the generations. That means that the guy in the video was using a MACBOOK from a few years ago.

  • @98ak98 you're actually the fucking retard, the last macbook pro aluminum that had a one piece bottom is mid 2009, they changed it to two so you can get to the HD and battery easier.. get your facts straight before you start looking like a dumbass bitch

  • Are you British? I am .25 English, .25 Welsh, and .50 Irish. And you love tech as well?

  • That's not even a MacBook pro, you fuck

  • Comment removed

  • @rezihk its not unibody

  • @98ak98 Thats not what?Have you ever touched a macbook pro in your sad life?BTW Niceeeeee install there:)

  • i got one for mb,,,, luckily the store had a 30 dollar install option. There is no way I could have lined all the feet, screws, and logo up!

  • neat :)

  • "Squeeze till the air comes out" ..or in this case, water

  • where the hell is the battery?

  • I would use it,but i am not patient enough to set up a shield... :D

  • it looks nice glossy

  • I have a question. Do they make one for the white MacBook? Also, doesn't the liquid go through the apple logo in the middle and into the back of the display?

  • The laptop looks like an ass. Whats the point?

  • what is the spray for? isnt the "shield" itself sticky?

  • @uikonaful The spray is used to prevent the shield from sticking immediately. it gives you a chance to remove air bubbles and to position it

  • Why are people against their shit getting used, and not being perfect? I'll keep to try and keep my laptops / phones looking new as long as possible, but I welcome their look when they're scuffed and flawed. Makes it feel used.

  • @depletable

Because people LIKE shiny stuff, unlike you, you MONSTER.

  • @depletable I agree with you 100%. Some things get better with age and each scratch and dent tells a funny story. If your a serious product designer then you care about how a product ages and how it will eventually be recycled. I would suggest everyone checkout the documentary called "Objectified" (it's about product design)

  • I find the macbook surface to be slippery. The best part of having the shield is that it gives the surface of the macbook a tactile grip making it easier to grip and thus preventing it from slipping out of your hands when carrying it around.

  • was there any wrinkeling on the corners ?

  • @hummurabi2010 there shouldnt be... invisibleSHIELD makes a special cut out so it should work

  • Well done! thank you for posting!

  • took me at least an hour or two to install mine -_-

  • looks rank, and also if it breaks or needs a repair your warrentys fucked lol!

  • @TheNo1Titheridge no its not, its just a thing that goes over the top, you could take it off before you send it back

  • @TheNo1Titheridge How would your warranty be fucked? =\

  • can you get someone to install this for u in the uk

  • @geebones what's what I was about to ask. Have you figured that out yet? If so, please kindly tell me. Many thanks!

  • It is a unibody! I believe it is the older late 2008 model.

  • bloody hell..

    so much spray

  • why not just use the speck clear shell case?

  • That is not the "unibody" MacBook!

  • Way too fiddly, I'd fuck it up.

  • Not a unibody... Nice vid, clean install. I dig porn music in the background.

  • LULZ NOT UNIBODY

  • Does it come with a screen protecter and does it come with that towel please somebody tell me I really need to know I need protection for my Macbook Pro 13" 2010 model please inform me.

    Thanks

  • @KING31293 No it does not... go 2 Zaggs channel for demo... Towel included

  • do you find that it gets too hot over time? or have you found that the corners un-stick over time?.. i know with my 3gs the corners, even though pretty good after installation get 'mucky' after a few months - have you sound the same with the macbooks? or at the edges better?

  • do you find that it gets too hot over time? or have you found that the corners un-stick over time?.. i know with my 3gs the corners, even though pretty good after installation get 'mucky' after a few months - have you sound the same with the macbooks? or at the edges better?

    advice would be appreciated.

    please and thanks!

  • what if the computer heated up? wouldn't the invisibleshield start peeling or melting?

  • what the???? how did you get a unibody mcbook pro with a removable battery plate. normally its all just one big sheet of alluminium. but urs is like two on the bottom??????

  • @spencersmat Its the older model of the new macbook pros 07-08

  • can u get it for other laptop if so where

  • @mitch625 Does it feel like a cheap plastic thing that you are tempted to peal off?

  • Will it become "glossy" all over if i install this?

  • does macbook pro shield cover the palm rest

  • @misterprince1 optionally yes

  • what are you spraying your hands/macbook/invisibleshield with?

  • When you exchanged this broken MacBook Pro to Apple for the 17", did you have to take off the invisible shield?

  • dont get the computer dirty now, its guna fuck your invisable shield up

  • Is their a piece for the perimeter such as where the super drive and ports are?

  • did you notice if it did generate any extra heat?

    thanks

  • Do you thnk you could do a video on installing it on your new MacBook? Thanks. Because I am getting the exact same MacBook and I want to put an invisibleshield on it. Thanks

  • you are soo soo fast in installin it. lol. takes me ages. nice one.

  • Tosser.

  • I stopped after 10 seconds due to your annoying accent.

  • This is the most difficult installation EVER!!! Just ruin mine triying to remove it from the paper. I prefer a scratch that try to install this thing again.

  • wow is shine too

  • I have two questions.Does that unibody protect a laptop as much like a ThinkPad's rollcage? And are you using a Mac Pro?

  • how have you liked this on your macbook pro? do you still use it? what do you think??

  • i have a MBP 13" unibody, can i use the same shield that u used in the video? in my mbp you cant take the batery that mean that the bottom part is only one piece , am i still able to use it?

  • That song in the background was anoying

  • does it leave any residue or reduced shine, if and when you decide to take the invisible shield off your macbook pro ?

  • i bent the corner of mine from dropping it. how the fuck do i get it fixed

  • This product is unbelievable!! I have it on all my phone, ipod and PSP. Getting it for my mac on Monday. I wouldnt buy anything without putting on on!!

  • I have ordered all the accessories for my macbook pro which makes it feel so good because it actually means that i am getting one

  • i find the thing far too difficult to put in. it seems too easy but i do not think it is at all..

  • whats that spray

  • well unless you wear a diamond ring on every hand and you scrap it across your $1000+ laptop or you take your macbook and scrap it against rocks you shouldn't have to worry.

  • Awesome

orded mine 2 days ago it should be here soon

I will do a video on it to so in about a week check my channel out

  • @iitzyoboykiicks: It protects your mac from scratching... and unfortunately the aluminum does scratch. I have a 2 inch long scratch on the lid and a few on the bottom.

I just purchased the exact same product from a different company, the brand is the only difference I'll post a review of it as a comment on here later.

  • @ytreclaim when?

  • What does this "invisible shield" do? I know it makes it glossy but is it scratch resistance because I don't think the MacBook gets scratched. Correct me if I'm wrong.

  • @iiTzYoBoyKiiCKs Anything can scratch! It just depends on how you take care of your mac... anyways you cant be overprotected for your stufff... or can you??? hmm

  • Do you guys like this product, do you think it is worth it? and do you like the glossy feel of it.

  • jesus so much spray on the latop it self canot be good :S

  • I agree when applied near key board and track pad? I wonder if things have ever gone wrong...

  • @swedishbeer No, the solution is made to not ruin any electronics.

  • @swedishbeer do you find that it gets too hot over time? or have you found that the corners un-stick over time?.. i know with my 3gs the corners, even though pretty good after installation get 'mucky' after a few months - have you sound the same with the macbooks? or at the edges better?

  • @swedishbeer lol i know right maybe he should have done the sides first then the top and bottom, by the looks on how much he sprayed it it might get in the technology like the ports the dvd drive etc

  • @swedishbeer it actually has something added to the liquid that makes it non conductive. Makes it safe to spray; I do however take out my battery before applying and don't put it back in for quite a while.

  • @swedishbeer Är du svensk?(are you swedish?)

  • I find the invisible shields pretty pointless. They don't seem to be that great in my opinion and ur macbook tends to heat up a bit more because the metal is suppose to release hot air.

  • Do you have any evidence or personal experience that Macbooks "tend to heat up a bit more" when they're covered with the Invisible Shield?

  • Not evidence, but from personal experience. I've had Invisible Shield on my MacBook Pro before. It's great protection but it does conduct a bit more heat. Maybe that's just because I have a 13 inch model.

  • If it conducted heat more, it would keep the computer cooler. Do you mean it conducts heat LESS?

  • And moreover, if it keeps your Macbook warmer, did you actually feel your computer being kept warmer than normal?

  • I would be worried sticky plastic over the MBP as they are designed to dissipate heat through the casing, both front and back...

  • thats what im thinkin:(( i got a MBP 13" but should i get this?

  • are speck hard cases good cases?

  • @puffpowderchowder

yeah they are I have one

and no they don't scratch you macbook pro

  • ok thanks

  • Yeah. I just got one and their great. Thanks for your advice. I know that this is a random question, but do you have any scratches, or dents on your mac?

  • @puffpowderchowder

none what so ever sub to me and i'll show you but right now go see my spec case on my channel its got weird dots and its a proof video for spec to give me a new one =) and I will be having lots of give aways

  • @puffpowderchowder They don't always hold, and can become scratched and rough at the corners. And they make the computer way too thick.

  • oh ok

  • i'd do it for the different look.. but as for protection against scratches etc, i think the metal brushed surface alluminium alloy is rather good at resisting those.

  • what sort of liquid you spray on the mac?

  • just wanted to say.. i like this music lol. very catchy

  • HI MITCH625

after u installed this shield .. are u satisfied with it ? wanna buy one but i got confused because of all these comments here. is it a good protection ? does it effect the heating in macbook ?

my best regards and thanks in advance.

    Haydar

  • that is too much work...i think it does more damage

  • @Nyaree1 I agree. If you do too much with zagg, it COULD possibly do more damage.

  • I dont fukin like the invisible shield after a couple weeks gets really dirty forreal i had this piece shit invisible shield in my white iphone and was lookin like shit that i take that shit off now that i have a macbook im using a hard shield is better

  • What hard shell are you using?

  • you are right,

i have used invisible shield on a lot of my cellphones and ipods, they shield eventually rolls up because of dirt and dust that accumulates on the edges. It makes your device look dirty and cheap after awhile. It does protect your devices from scratches and such, but if you drop it, it doesn't do a thing really. I would suggest the Incase Hardshell for Macbooks. Cheers

  • ur supposed to apply the liquid on the shield b4 application... not after

  • You apply it before on the sticky side and then after to make squeegeeing easier - otherwise the squeegee sticks to the membrane...

  • that was pretty good. iPhone shields are HELL to apply. those tiny little corner. *the horror*

  • they are called 3m.

Go buy a roll for 2 bucks on ebay :D

Those premade "shields" are cheap stuff and won't protect anything. They will just cause your mac to overheat

  • Not good for heat dissipation... Bad idea

  • you got to be kidding, this has nothing to do with it

  • how much does it cost?

  • How long did you wait between applying the bottom and the top shields? I want to apply both in one day, but I'm not sure how long to wait for it to dry. IDK.

I'm also kinda worried about applying the shield on the trackpad, etc., and then having to close the Macbook on it for the night. Will it dry well, or get water on my screen, or anything like that? o_O

  • i went to my local apple store not long ago, and asked about the invisible shields for the unibody macbooks,

the guy there reckons that they are great for ipods, iphones etc, but its not too good for macbooks because they trap alot of the hear in there. :(.

  • That's what I was thinking too. It certainly seems like it would trap the heat in there. But pretty much everyone I've talked to who owns an InvisibleShield (and a good chunk of reviews I've stumbled across, as well) say that it doesn't make a noticeable difference (some claim there's no difference at all) heat-wise. *shrug*

  • I think the aluminum macbooks release most heat through the hinge, which isn't covered, so it probably won't be TOO bad. just a bit... hot.

  • I have one for my ipod and it works very well. I've had it on for 2 years.

  • LOL.. sorry that one part. "I'm gonna get all the finger prints off now *wipes with cloth* alright.. *wipes with hand* :P

  • Hey, I'm considering buying one of those... I was just wondering if the quality is good and if the other imperfections goes away a few days after the application of the invisible shield.. (: THanks a lot!

  • its great. i dont noe about laptops but i got it on my phone and had it on for 6 months and no scratches! some of the sides got dust on it and started to fall off so i just went back to the store and they replaced it for free! great product. it even helps prevent scratches from drops (probably not laptops).

  • I so wanna get one of those. hehe

Check out my MacBook Pro unboxing vid over at my channel :D

  • na dude you like getting your mac wet and since no one knows were the sensors are.... yeah

  • can u put the speck see thru with this

  • Thanks man. I think I'm sold. I just hope I'm getting the best product. If you can think of anything better let me know. I'm like my stuff looking good.

  • me too i have new phone sealed in box waiting for my shield to come in the mail

  • Hey man I just got a macbook pro. I'm looking to make this thing look good as long as I can. Is this product worth dropping money on? Or have you found something better?? Let me know.

  • well consider it like this, if you dont mind scratches on your computer than dont buy it.

  • And the invisible shield has better traction. Aluminum can slip on literally ANYTHING! This shit is ao good you can put it on your car and the laptop won't fall off! I had one on my iPod touch... it makes it stick to glass lol it was cool (it didn't fall eventually either... it just chills there lol.. can be convienient.

  • hey thank you for the vid but can you give us an update or review of the invisible shield after 5 months or so of using it? does it last long time? or do i have to plan to replace with a new shield each month...?

  • Wanna date? :O

  • what spray is that??

  • its the spray that comes with it

  • Hello Mitch,

I watch your videos with great enthusiasm.. and today I've found the one with IS for MacBook Pro. Because I want to buy both products at the end of year, I would like to ask you.. did you have any problems with IS on your notebook? Air balls, imperfections, scratches or unsticking?

Please let me know if deserve the investment on Invisible Shield...

    Andrei

  • I'm not sure if this will be a helpful suggestion but

i used to work at a sign company & we applied vinyl lettering in the same way this is being applied. for the larger pieces you could try peeling back just about an inch or so (maybe more) and cutting the paper underneath. apply spray and apply the cover to the edge, squeege then remove the paper respray and then squeege away. might help with lining up everything?

  • is that just water in the spray bottles?

  • Fantastic!...

  • was u using a shamwow ??? lol

  • Dont be silly. Im using a ShamWOOHOO lol. That pushes liquid of oh so boringly :)

  • @xXMisterManManXx bitch! itss all about the scamwow!

  • do you know if zagg protects agianst finger prints

  • why do you spray the top of the invisible shield? you're just gonna dry it up right after..

  • It's recommended to squeegee out the air bubbles.

  • its a lube not a glue he puts on after.

  • He never puts lube OR glue on O.o

  • he does.

  • Cos the scrape will glide better over the surface after

  • so it makes it easier to squeeze the water out and makes it glide. if u dont it will push its self off the device.

  • im guess the squege or however u spell makes it easier to glide over

  • So the squeegee will glide over it when he squeezes out the water if you wanted to know.

  • i wish there was a 13 inch macbook pro invis shield - i cant find 1 anywhere
