I believe this may just be the holy grail. Its one of my favorite Tool songs of all time, set to scenes from my absolute favorite film of all time. I can hardly contain myself.
@BloodForTruth Relax.. Nothing is ruined here... It's like coupling honey and peanut butter, I'm always going to enjoy them on their own, and eat them separately, but mixing them every once in awhile is sweet to the senses...As an artist, I can say that if someone took work of mine and set it to something congruent, I wouldn't mind, as long as they paid their respects... It's THEIR vision, of my work.. I respect that. If Baraka were set to Nyan? or Disposition to some corny anime? I might bitch.
well this says it all. turks are all gay. hold up ataturk was gay too wow. i am amazed that these homo turks spin around in their white dress with the condom on their head. i think they are try to get dizzy to fuck each other and to blame it on the swirl. what a dance. A culture of homo's.
@jigglojuggler. I fully agree my friend. :) I feel God is everything, your most horrific nightmare to your most blissful & serene moment, love, as well as hatred. & of course, unfathomable oblivion, which all exist simultaneously. Paradox I do believe the word is, yet nothing of this nature seems to become whole or it's truth be seen or experienced without paradox. But above this... what is important is that we cherish all we got while were here. Life is fleeting... Watch the weather change....
What's with people being shallow minded & narrow minded enough to simply say "God does not exist" Prove it to me. I'd literally bet an arm that I could send you on your way to finding & experiencing what God is. They need to turn off their T.v.'s & head outside. Shut their mouths & open their minds. I might be more inclined to listen to your words on God's non existence if you didn't spend your life wrapped in ideology not your own sitting infront of a tv in a little box ignorant to the world...
So stop projecting your ideas which required little to no real thought on your behalf & listen to this song... Go outside & keep your trap shut until you have something worthwhile saying. Until you can feel & see where you are at... Till you have found wordless sensations to the questions "Who am I" "where am I?" Your ignorant vomit isn't worth any souls time until you can really share something that will move them or make them think or heal. Stop projecting ignorance onto others & look within.

no no no, it's what you class as happiness my friend, would a businessman with a nice house and car give up what he has to live this "happier simple life?" NO he wouldnt, cuz that would not be happiness to him, wearing ragz, sharing meals, not knowing where your next meal is,diseases, infections, he'd totally hate it, he's happy within the system, this is where the difference lies
"for a believer this world is a prison, and for a disbeleiver it is paradise
rivers, waterfalls, forests, oceans, trees, fruit, herbs are of course a paradise..im on about the system my friend, u kno media, technology all that bollocks..thats all
the system that has caused devastation to our nature
shut the fuk up, name of a book written in 1516 about a fictional island...it wasn't even a word...utopia is a thought from an author...wtf are you on about??
but it will never fulfill the beleivers need fore something more, something better, something eternal and neverending. in that respect this world is a prison to the beleiver.
Even the business man is not happy with his life. Neither life we live is better than the other. How can this be a prison? You are free from expectations of society. Free from the pressures of work. There you focus more on nature, you become one with nature. Here in our society, we destroy it. We do not all share nor care for its beauty. How is that a prison? They are not locked in offices, drowning in papers, fatigued by lack of sleep.
first of all who are you to say that the businesman isnt happy?? im talking of material gain and temptation..why else would you invest and call yourself a businessman?? if your surrounded by temptation and your religious, yet fornication, adultery greed seems normal nowadays..yet when your one of the few resisting..why would that not feel like a prison?? people who love this world are mainly those who have no beliefs..love money ..this is the paradise for thm..that's all im trying to say
I did not mean that every business man was unhappy, I am saying that they aren't all happy. And you mean to say that people who love money give everything up to go there? I think not, money is one of the things they give up too. I am saying only this: That some people this is not a prison this is release. For others this is a life that is may be too complicated; this would then be a prison because they are too attached to their cell phones and way of life where machines do all the work.
your still not getting to the point of temptation, material gain and greed
and obviously not all are happy, if things are fucking up for them..ripped off, wrong move, getting in debt..etc...doesn't exlcude the fact that thier man point of becoming a businessman WAS FOR material gain and money.
There are different types of people. Not everyone could survive this lifestyle; they don't know how 2.& money doesn't matter 2 everyone. Temptation & greed comes from money, where is there temptation & greed here? There is more of a connection in this sort of culture; people know when someone is sick, they take time to care for them, etc. & there are those who start a career happy & end up depressed because maybe some people were meant for this lifestyle.
And I am not disagreeing with what you are saying, but I am saying that there is another side to the argument. And you are right, I am not getting what you are saying about temptation. If you look at it religiously, that would be a sin. Why would someone give it up? Because of that. And perhaps this life is too complicated... for some people... just as that life is way out there for another.
What? Are you assuming every businessman conforms to this "universal businessman greed"? How arrogant...
And what is wrong with material gain? If one likes it, so be it. If the other doesn't, who cares. The point where you try to tell someone their wrong and paint them out as a prisoner is the moment you start dipping into fascism.
the prisoner is the one who see's only negative or positive imposed on any one set of ideals. As a human is it hard to break away from the confines of black and white, but materialism in itself has both good and bad applications depending on the persons perspective.
how is the prisoner the one who see's positive and negative?? if you dont beleive in positive and negative, that means your a hedonist, no barriers between anything.. people try to justify materialism cause of thier own indulgence
i was talking to some obama people who set up a tent at my school yesterday. talk about a bunch of losers with nothing better to do, except for the old lady who was there, she wasnt a loser, since she was really old and i feel bad about saying that. they even gave me an Obama 08 bumper sticker, which is hilarious because its just Obama, not Obama/Biden. they sure regret picking him haha
This song is so sacred. It would probably be my spirits theme. i listened to it with a catalyst called psilocyben and it was life changing. i remember seeing this blue colored sacred 3d language that looked like hirogliphics, and when the bass whammy started to do that "waaahweee" thing the vision shifted to this bright godhead being that was rotating in the center of a mandala. it was so profound. lateralus +psychedelics=enlightenment
umm... did anyone notice that the original music was overdubbed with something else. not to be a downer but the original was not only much much better but it just made since. I kept waiting for someone to do something "extreme" like suck down a mountain dew and jump out of a moving machine with a skateboard. Sorry... Love tool, but not here- Baraka was a masterpiece- no need to F### with it.
I believe this song goes perfect with this video, I've never seen the movie but it seems to be that it shows how things have/are changing...Song just seems to fit to me
The music of Tool is about the same things depicted in Baraka. Tool are not about 'Extreme' or 'Mountain Dew'. They're about civilization, spirituality, meditation, dreams, big, epic things.
I think people who say that stuff are getting a bit carried away. Most music is as expendable as fast food wrappers. Tool may represent these things, but most can't get beyond their own lives and emotions. Oh, and whatever presidential administration it's cool to bash at the time.
I saw this movie in school and I thought it was one of the best movies I have ever seen. It makes you think outside the box...life. You will look at things in a whole new way.
Does the end of this song, the bouncing of the ball, represents cycle? Like earth climAte had changed in the past hundreds of times and it will change again. Nothing to do with humans, really whole solar system is heating at the moment and sun burns stronger and stronger every year.
Very much worth watching. You can buy it for fairly cheap now a days. They have a special collectors edition DVD where the transfer looks more amazing than the first pressing years ago.
Pick it up, this film is both serene, beautiful and teaching. Even though there's no dialogue. Just amazing imagery and a great soundtrack.
Yes absolutely this movie is long, but sooo worth watching! It basically contrasts vividly (without words)different parts of the world; how life and civilization use to be, and how modern civilization has created it to be today. It's intense.
The song and the scenes form a perfect combination.Makes you really remember how weird, wonderful and downright amazing this planet and it's beings are.
too true, if only we had the ability to drop all the other drama in our own world and take on the life of another person in another world. we might actually appreciate what we have and be a little more thankfull.
Agreed. I think everyone should see this film at least once in their life. Truly a masterpiece. In my opinion one of the top 3 greatest films ever made hands down. Can't wait for Samsara.
They are spinnig to embody solar system and planets..One hand is up and looks to the sky, other hand is down and looks to the ground. That's mean simply 'from GOD to people..'
The name of this philosophy is SUFIZM and MEVLEVISM..That's mean take away yourself from the world business. The GOD is everything and everywhere.Even bad things and good things comes from GOD.Basic and simple.I love you because of GOD..Because GOD created you. You're and everything is part of the GOD.
This is not zen.We called this people not 'dervish'.They are SEMAZEN.The name of this ceramony is SEMAH..This ceramony is absolutely interests with Islamic philosophy. But they have different menthality.
you are literally phucking retarded....disposition is a great song, from one of the most influential and godlike bands of our time...ever.....wow nice going asswipe
I think that I have to agree with you! ;) I love this film one of my favorites along with the trilogy of Koyaanisqatsi! ;) but apparently other ppl it's just caught up with the other music and then 'inserted' it in here .. that's sad! :( ..
I also belive that the original music of this scenes is "The host of Seraphim" by Dead Can Dance. But I´m not sure, I saw it here in You tube. Blessings from Cancún.
Interesting. What exactly is Baraka? It seems very similar to the movie "Koyaanisquatsi." Is it some kind of documentary that you put into images one after another or was it like that to begin with?
tool.

ITS ABOUT WHAT HUMANS HAVE DONE TO THE WORLD
excluded real culture, urbanising cities
how all the people in here are at peace with themselves
but the ones in material gain are rushing around...racing time in fact
difference is, the rush our people are still searching for something, money, success
the ones who live naturally are in appreceiation of what god's already given us

Disposition is my day dreaming theme. Baraka is my favorite movie. For me personally, together they make a mantra. Thank you.

I believe this song goes perfect with this video, I've never seen the movie but it seems to be that it shows how things have/are changing...Song just seems to fit to me
phireboi 3 years ago 2
The music of Tool is about the same things depicted in Baraka. Tool are not about 'Extreme' or 'Mountain Dew'. They're about civilization, spirituality, meditation, dreams, big, epic things.

It's not a ball, it's a stick; and all music represents cycle, which applies to days, life, aeons and specie etc.
Rebiggenator 3 years ago 2
I think people who say that stuff are getting a bit carried away. Most music is as expendable as fast food wrappers. Tool may represent these things, but most can't get beyond their own lives and emotions. Oh, and whatever presidential administration it's cool to bash at the time.

I saw this movie in school and I thought it was one of the best movies I have ever seen. It makes you think outside the box...life. You will look at things in a whole new way.

yes this movie is great on shrooms!

Does the end of this song, the bouncing of the ball, represents cycle? Like earth climAte had changed in the past hundreds of times and it will change again. Nothing to do with humans, really whole solar system is heating at the moment and sun burns stronger and stronger every year.

so is this movie worth watching? can anyone tell me what its about?
NinjaBurglar 3 years ago
Very much worth watching. You can buy it for fairly cheap now a days. They have a special collectors edition DVD where the transfer looks more amazing than the first pressing years ago.
Pick it up, this film is both serene, beautiful and teaching. Even though there's no dialogue. Just amazing imagery and a great soundtrack.
Godhatesfatpeople 3 years ago
Yes absolutely this movie is long, but sooo worth watching! It basically contrasts vividly (without words)different parts of the world; how life and civilization use to be, and how modern civilization has created it to be today. It's intense.

They are tablas, but probably on Danny's old Simmons pads. He didn't have the Mandalas until after Lateralus was released.

too true, if only we had the ability to drop all the other drama in our own world and take on the life of another person in another world. we might actually appreciate what we have and be a little more thankfull.

Agreed. I think everyone should see this film at least once in their life. Truly a masterpiece. In my opinion one of the top 3 greatest films ever made hands down. Can't wait for Samsara.

Why did you have to spoil the good original music with this crappy song? If it was any good the director would've put it instead. But its not.

I also belive that the original music of this scenes is "The host of Seraphim" by Dead Can Dance. But I´m not sure, I saw it here in You tube. Blessings from Cancún.

I heard that "Koyaanisquatsi" was made by the same fotographer.
camiloquai74 4 years ago
Interesting. What exactly is Baraka? It seems very similar to the movie "Koyaanisquatsi." Is it some kind of documentary that you put into images one after another or was it like that to begin with?
