@marcorte and if you're getting too low, too slow or descending too fast while on approach NEVER do a nose up just add some power and flare just above 5-10FT off ground.
I'm sorry but I'm French so my english may be hesitant. This landing is great but you should try the runway 22R. This approach is one of the most difficults in France, you have to turn from hdg 265 to hdg 225 at 600 feet of the sea, and, of course it's forbidden to fly over Nice ! With the water effects of FSX, this should be very nice. But in the reality...Just look for "Airbus 320 Landing Nice 22R from Cockpit" (megathumper777).
@Nicomurgia I'm from Hungary, but I've been to Nice a few times, to be specific I stayed in Antibes. Watched the take offs and landings a lot from the beach. My observation is: when the weather is good the approach is done from the sea, usually flying a right descending pattern. But when the sea is rough(storms over it etc...) they fly straight in above Antibes and Nice pretty close to the buildings.
@marcorte: nice approach but flared too high, watch your descent rate(VSI) next time..
@Szab0729 Well, actually, since the approach for RWY 22R is very difficult, the planes can land on RWY 04L even in case of tailwind, provided the wind force is lower than 10kts. I think that's why you concluded that when the sea is rough the approachs are done on RWY 22R. That's what I've learned by reading the SIA-Charts of the airport. I don't believe that the approach on 22R fly over Antibes or Nice, the plane just stay over the sea, or I may haven't notice that when I took the plane.
