  • i respect the coast gaurd but... its still lower than the other 4 branches

  • @rivetjointful think what you want but thats a pussy answer right there

  • will someone please give me the benifits you get out of doing CG. if you join does it only help you get a job being a CG? anything else?

  • @nfltank55 obviously it helps you get a job, you get military discounts, good healthcare, college credits, good credit for loans and mortgages the benefits are limitless

  • i was n the army .. and this iooks like sum pussy shit compared to what i had to go through.. look like summer camp

  • @SmileyBeats974 Thats what the Marine Corps thinks of Army boot. .Its a vicious circle my friend lol

  • Sempaer Fi! From a Jarhead family 2014 Marine Corps, i know the is a Coast Guard video but every branch is equal, i just am just a leatherneck

  • @pandabear558 when your 18 your mom cant do shit so just go in after you graduate highschool, im 14 and i am going to join the coast guard

  • No way chief ruchster I had him in golf 159

  • When I sub in high schools, I always tell the kids they should opt for USCG. Where else does a 19 year old get put in charge of million-dollar equipment?

  • Comment removed

  • I remember one of the recruits was caught staring at a plan right after chow. The CC caught him and made him stand in front of all of the waiting companys, point at the sky and yell "THE PLANEEEE!!!!!!, THE PLANE!!!!!!!" Over and over again, frikin awesome...ahhh the good ol times!

  • That A lot more hard core then i thought it would Be difinatly more hard core then the navy i cant even find any of there drill instrcuters yelling

  • USMC - small unit leadership. we have a LOT of responsibilities too

  • im a 15 yr old girl and rlly want to go into coastguard n i want to start training but my mom says it to dangerous any advice?

  • @pandabear558 show your mom the videos and take her to recruiter that can show that its safe for everyone.

  • @pandabear558 It's way too early to decide, but if you're really interested in joining, take your mom to a recruiter. Have them explain what type of missions the Coast Guard is in charge of (like Search and Rescue). I would also advise YOU to find out more about the Coast Guard before making that final decision. There are a lot of different rates, some fun and some not. Just do your research before committing.

  • @pandabear558 from what i've heard, it's the least tough branch of the military(im not an expert though). idk, wait until your a senior in high school and then decide what you want to do.

  • @18rubiks You heard wrong, its the toughest branch to get into, dealing with violent drug smugglers, human traffickers, and going out in a raging sea on a search and rescue mission is not for everyone

  • @zoso41 i still wouldn't call that the toughest branch. the national guard is the first branch to go to war and are in the front line. not trying to put down the coast guard, but i would rather deal with mexicans bringing over drugs and trying to jump the boarder than to have to face another country's military in war.

  • @18rubiks Sounds like a line from a National Guard recruiter. Did you know the Coast Guard has fought and died in every armed conflict the U.S. has been involved in? Google DC3 Nathan Bruckenthal and Douglas Munro you may learn a thing or to-Semper Paratus

  • @pandabear558 I think your Mom has a good point. Frankly I dislike this video. Persons shouldn't be treated like $hit as there going through boot camp. Granted everyone needs to follow orders and learn the rules. I'm retired from the Coast Guard. I did not attend CG boot Camp. I was prior Navy. I went to Great Lakes. Never once was I treated with disrespect while in Navy boot camp nor the Hospital Corpsman school Iattended at Great Lakes. I spent 18 of my 20 yrs. with the Coastt Guard.

  • @pandabear558 USCG is one of hte best branches adn one of the SAFEST branches of service. Very good career! They work everyday and they work HARD. It's a great group. :)

  • @pandabear558 Tell her its not as dangerous as the army rangers, plus if she doesnt sign the contract when you're 17 you can sign it yourself without her consent at 18

  • @pandabear558 When your 18 you can do whatever you want.

  • @pandabear558 Driving a car is dangerous, living in a city is dangerous, hiking in the woods, etc etc. Everything is dangerous, military especially. Be comforted that you (probably...) won't be doing ground work in Afghanistan like the Army or Marines. Also remember, it's in a mothers nature to worry and sway your choices out of harms way, so you don't have to blame her for her pressure against USCG; follow your own path and do what feels right to you, and that's it.

  • @pandabear558 not everyone hears the calling.

  • @pandabear558 From an outsider, continue to have the talks with your mother. That will definately help. On the physical fitness, start NOW. Too many people get dropped just for that one thing alone.

  • @pandabear558 in 3 years it won't matter what your parents say. You can try to convince them if you prefer, but you should just do what you want. Not saying you should forget about your parents but just do what you want. It's your life not anyones else's.

  • After seeing this I rather join the airforce you get an m16 rifle the second week and you get to wear a camo

  • @kingpin1904 You're joining for the wrong reasons.

  • ok im really scared XDXD

  • lol this is getting fun ajajjajajajajajajaj

  • Really we need instructional videos on how to get people through bootcamp now. If they cant make it on there own right off the bat they should be sent home. We have way to many shitbags already.

  • @renatemcc Many of these videos can be viewed as warning videos not instructional videos.

  • I am a US Army Iraq Veteran and I have much respect for the Coast Guard! A guy who I was in Iraq with just graduated Coast Guard Recruit Training and he was the guide and honor graduate!

  • 1:23 my god that company commanders uniform is unsat as fucking shit. He'd fail a personal inspection.

  • Kudos to the recruit @ 1:34 who addresses those who "think the Coast Guard is a slack service." The Coast Guard is anything BUT "slack"! I'm a civilian who's never served, and I know that -- I reckon there are some in other branches who think so, though. Our Coast Guard has always been there -- watching, patrolling, rescuing, helping, interdicting, etc. Semper Paratus!

  • This is old. I remember him from boot though, fucking salty/crust as fuck. Uniform 169.

  • I remember when they came into the squad bay in the 1st week of forming, I was picked for the Honor Guard. 9 men out of a company of 70. Great moment. 1884, so long ago.

  • week shit

  • @cobraswat818 Learn how to spell.

  • @BeePiiMP lol i just saw that.... but still weak shit

  • seems very similar to marine corps boot camp, but i got stuck on parris island for 6 months as a recruit im pretty sure this bootcamp doesnt have $hit on the Corps, guess ill find out soon enuff since im reenlisting, but going to coast guard haha.....

  • "Just "eight weeks? My AF ROTC Field Training was just five weeks and it felt like five months.

  • I have no idea which boot camp is worst and have no interest in competing. It depends on who is in charge of you to some degree. I don't agree at all that USCG recruits have more responsibly than other branches. Mostly you get as much responsibility that you can handle wherever you go as long as you prove yourself.

  • My company commander had us exercise until we were exhausted. That meant we were just getting started. If we laid there exhausted meant some extra punishment for all of us. We had our worst workout on beach. Sand filled in our pockets. Push ups in 40 deg water (in 12 deep puddle) dunking ourselves. Then we dumped all the sand in squad bay and spread it around. We had to clean it and be cleaned up and in uniform (perfect ironing with spit shine) in 30 min. I got flu and had to continue or else..

  • They should make a movie that is about the coast guard, the Army has tons and the Marines also have quite a few as well as the Navy and AF, but I would like to watch a CG movie, the training looks awesome, mentally and physically these guys are unstoppable, I have been a Soldier for the past 15 years, but I remember like it was yesterday "front back go"

  • This movie is so old that the working blue uniforms worn in it have been obsolete for the better part of a decade.

  • I think that all branches of the military are important, but saying the Coastguard has more responsibility than any other branch is just plain dumb. I'm pretty sure Army and Marine Infantrymen would differ.

  • @jdawg1449 What he meant by that was you have more responsibility as a recently graduated non rate in the Coast Guard than say, a newly graduated recruit in the Air Force.

  • I think everyone should stop whinning like bitches about each branches and understand that we should all respect each other for taking the jump to even go thought this for our country - Navy Vet

  • Guys. It doesn't matter what people say. Other branches do not KNOW any more about their branch than others.

  • New book that you can find online is called UNDERCOVER CC: AN INSIDER'S GUIDE TO SURVIVING COAST GUARD RECRUIT TRAINING. ITS ON SALE RIGHT NOW TOO.....LAST DAY. FORMER CC WROTE IT.

  • When I went through Boot-camp. It was 13 weeks. January 29th 1979.. I was in Company Hotel 103. Under the direct tutorship of BM1 Eddie Garris. I remember when he uttered those immortal words some 30 years ago. and i quote "I don't want nunna you, to think for one goddamn minute that I like you, cuz I don't. Cuz liken' leads to luvin' and luvin' leads to fukkin' and if you try to fuck me, your in a world of shit.. End quote.

  • Ive met that guy haha! He is a really nice fella from what I remember.

  • I am thinking about joining the Coast Guard and I think this might be one of the things that I might struggle with. Does anyone have any advice for me to how deal with certain types of pressure?

  • @SaturdayNites91 It's a head game. However in the middle of the North Atlantic in gale force winds and 30ft seas on a WHEC or MEC, it comes back to you in a second. Trust me I know. I signed up 30 years ago, and I can still save a life, tie a half-hitch and know how to properly salute the national ensign.

  • @SaturdayNites91 start working out a lot now, that's what i am doing, im in a baseball program we weight lift and run, and i myself am trying to reach higher reps of push ups and pull ups, and when spring gets here im going to start running, i am only 15 going to be 6 in 3 weeks, and i am thinking of joining the air force, to help people and also to help myself with a career and college, that's the best advice i can give, also play many sports.

  • does that guy have any voice left?

  • I'm a junior in highschool and I can't wait to get out so I can join the coast guard! It seems intense but idk wanting to do this makes me feel like I'm doin something with my life... I can't wait.

  • Im leaving in 2 weeks for this place XD

  • yeah I'm leaving Tuesday jakeozlee8. we'll probably be in the same company

  • Comment removed

  • @jakeozlee8 Yo ima be with you on the 30th cause thats when i leave for this shit too but i dont wanna be in this shit anymore i would rather be in the army haha ima figure something out so maybe i wont see you after all

  • Comment removed

  • @jakeozlee8 idk dude im tryna go to afghanistan. coast guard doesn't get deployed unless you in the deployable operations group n you can't even be in that for at least 2 years n i cant even go to my A school for 2 yrs cause the wait is ridiculous so i would have no rate and be here for 2 yrs doin random jobs on base i'd rather not haha whats your MOS?

  • Comment removed

  • @jakeozlee8 Someone lied to you haha you can pick your rate in the army too my brother picked infantry n he did so good in boot camp he is goin to go to ranger school when he gets back from afghanistan. Where do you live yo cause im goin for Maritime Enforcement too but when i heard the wait for A school i was like wtf idk anymore haha but im goin to boot camp for sure ima just prolly get a DD 368 later on and change my branch but im active what about you?

  • @tremac Haha i dont know much bout the army, Im going active as well. But hey man we should get in touch through more private messaging or something so our conversations arent up for anyone to see. It would be hilarious to know a guy at boot i met through fuckin youtube haha.

  • @jakeozlee8 You're an ME? This helps out so much cause i wanna join the Coast Guard and my dad and i went to the base in Chatham yesterday and i asked about it and they gave me some answers but i was wondering if maybe you could help me out a little more?

  • @tremac haha honestly guys.. i think that this video . it hink that they made it look soooooo not normal to the regular CG. cuz they knew it was goin to be on camera. so they tried to make it 100 times beftter cus it was on tv. no worries. guys.

  • @nfltank55 Not true at all.

  • @IIKeRsEyII either way im not a fan of how they do anythign in the forces now days. in the us. i read about old old century ago WORTH IT . us forces now is like mcdonalds compared to an exclusive important nice place to eat.

  • This is so awesome! I have been accepted to join the CG active duty and I feel very fortunate, especially since its pretty hard to join these days. Okay, for the people who are dreading bootcamp(I have to admit I'm not looking forward to it either) just suck it up and do it. I want to make a career out the CG and stay in for 30 yrs. I'm either going AMT, AET, or possibly the IS if the ratings "A" school is open when I'm in cuz I have an AA degree in law enforcement. Just do it!

  • aw this is making me double think joining ahhh i just dont know :(

  • @invisablepersonality

Don't let these yelling and screaming Drill Instructors stop you from joining. I didn't think I'd like the military, but Basic Training was a piece of cake. The DI's are just doing their job; molding and shaping you from civilian life to military life. They don't want a bunch of pussies and wimps out there fighting to defend our country, they want some warriors and leaders out there. Just suck it up and go for it.

  • @zimmguy235 I was so sure i would be able to handle basic and the instructors, but i have an issue and watching these videos made me rethink if i could actually live a military life, i freeze when it comes to doing tasks on the spot and i can't seem to overcome this ridiculous obsitcle, and another thing i have issues with is i pass out easily and always think when it comes down to it, i can over come it, i was horribly wrong, so its not the yealling orthe physical part thats making me think 2x

  • I'm having a really tough time deciding between the Coast Guard and the Navy.

  • @Dreaklock COAST GUARD! :D

  • @Dreaklock

Choose the Air Force. It's the best out there and the bases are the s***.

  • @zimmguy235

I leave for basic training december 28th for the Air Force.

  • @ImOnOne2

Good choice. I wish you well. Air Force Basic Training isn't so bad; you just have to do what you're told when you're told and you'll get through just fine. I was so nervous when those drill instructors got on the bus and started yelling and shouting, but once they get to know you and you're getting closer to graduating, they tend to leave you alone and not yell at you so much. Maybe, we'll run into each other someday on an Air Force base.

  • Week 6 will be by far the most beneficial for me. Don't get me wrong about the other weeks, but I could definitely use this week!

  • I don't know why people like to talk shit about the coast guard what does it matter? The coast guard is saving lives and doing something for the country maybe not going to war but it's still being apart of something good. But it's ok i understand the marines get the big head often. haha

  • Yogi21thebear...you quit Coast Guard basic training??? You should live the rest of your pathetic life in shame. How do you even face yourself in the mirror every morning? I'm ashamed of you...hell, I'm ashamed for you. Dear God!!!!!!!!!

  • I enjoyed this remembering my days at Cape May, But these guys are lucky is only 8 weeks. We did 13. Of course there were no woman recruits there then so more profanilty and physical abuse. Ha Ha I remember having to jump off the platform holding Life vest but we were not allowed to wear bathing suits( I dunno why } so u can guess what we held while jumping at a higher height too.

  • @jcbgrunt0311 This is not "pussy shit", it may not be the most elite military division, but I bet a lot of people couldn't do this. You could do with some of this, it will maybe work the ignorance out of you.

  • @jcbgrunt0311 go eat a bumhole, d!ck wad...

  • Just stay locked on all the time. And I got to say Victor 156, we froze and we fried, yet we never said die.

  • i remember when pep came into our quarters @ like 2 in the morning and the c.c's got everybody up and made us watch these poor pep recruits getting p.t'd to death. i was definitely afraid of pep. the one funny thing though was when they walked around the base saying "pep pep pep pep" they sounded like a flock of geese.

  • @ooglith

im leaving for basic in june can you give me some tips

  • @08lonestar start jogging now to get a head start!

  • I went to basic for the c.g. and quit, just be prepared to be humiliated and they will put their hands on you.

  • @yogi21thebear that is fucking pathetic, but i rather not be working a quitter

  • @ryanz11 the company commanders were dumb as fuck one of them tells me im an e-5 you're an e-1 im a good five ranks higher than you hmmmm what the fuck is wrong with that, stupid fuck couldn't even count ya I want to take orders from a dumb ass like that, and im fucking pathetic oh really than why the fuck does the uscg have like a fucking 60-70 percent failer rate thats bullshit there shouldn't be that many people not completing basic training

  • @08lonestar remember all this is for your benefit. listen learn remember but dont take it personal its not

  • @ooglith

Yeah the first time I heard they had to do that I fucking lol'd
