Don't panic? How does that prevent getting the flu? Not panicing helps in situations where you can see or feel the danger (such as getting out of a fire). Panicing in your own living room won't increase or decrease your chances of getting the flu.

Now if you are near a farm and a big oinker comes walking up to you, then panicing and running into the pig might be a problem.
