@sanatthebest : have u been to J& K ?. to understand the situation. or any of known one is working in ARMY. Reply should be honest. Afghanistan is hell for American and NATO. we never had that kind of situation. Moreover India never captured Kashmir it was always with us. it is just that started thinking about independence seeing Sikhs from Punjab and LTTE. Well in Kashmir things are better on Militancy level. Right now those people are not fighting with any bullets so our soldiers are safe.
@hussy747 just have a look on doordarshan channel on the occasion of republic day or independence day....you will see many soldiers getting medals for fighting till death with the terrorist in J&K....it is not shown in news channel doesn't mean that our soldiers don't fight and die for our nation..i know afghanistan prob. is serious..and may be more than J&k but J&K is not like a mouse in front of elephant..and as far as people are concerned..nobody know how many of them are terrorist ...

@ZenChat We're not going to Afghanistan militarily dude. Our policy is only there for humanitarian and infrastructure development. India has its own independent policy. We've dealt with Afghanistan-like hell in our state of Kashmir thanks to Pakistan and our Army is trained to fight with minimum equipment in the most hostile of environments.
Sometimes something good comes out of every bad and this bad in our state of Kashmir gave one good---- gave mother of a training to our troops.

We can spend two decades in Afghanistan and it still would make no difference. There is no use spending our time money and lives in Afghanistan. Instead let us use the same energy in making India better.
J&k prob. is not less than Afganistan prob...Don't underestimate J&K ...

Afghanistan is a quagmire..... India will spend Billions and loose good men...
the return in investment would be limited and will only last for a short duration.
