  • @hellokitty1990 Don't listen to that idiot. You can probably tell by the extremities of their comment they probably skipped their meds that day. Can you say "bipolar as hell?". :P

  • @iDIGRESSalot You have Nemesis Authority PERMISSION...to post the last word on all of what we have discussed. Bear in mind how easily your favorite bitching grounds were dominated. Please...be my guest. Draw more hatred to yourself and continue placing yourself in the dubious position of back-peddler, misquote, and liar. Feel free.

  • @xWindShadowMothx Here's a suggestion for you, douchebag. SHUT. THE. FUCK. UP. I've already moved on to MUCH more important issues. You realize you're just ranting and raving now like a TOTAL moron. Lol. So please, continue to make yourself look like an ass. I laugh harder and harder everytime. :D

  • @xWindShadowMothx And the day i give a FUCK what people think about me, or who hates me, will be the day i personally write you to say, "Please, give me your opinions because I care oh so much." Maybe you didn't catch that - I DON'TGIVE A FLYING FUCK. Was that clear enough for you, drama queen, or could I have elaborated a little more?. Please, let me know. I want to make sure you get it LOUD and CLEAR.

  • @xWindShadowMothx Bitching grounds dominated? Lmao. You poor, neglected, desparate, pathetic soul.

  • @xWindShadowMothx FYI, dubious means doubtful, so, in the sense for which you used it, it means my "doubtful position of back-peddler, misquote, and liar," which means I'm OPPOSITE your accusations.:)

  • @iDIGRESSalot Yes we are done. You changed your arguments up, you switched your views back and forth, you back peddled, you beat around the bush, you used poor attempts at misconstruing arguments of my own, you misrepresented the cultural concerns and Rights efforts of Blacks, Native Americans, Whites, Jews, Etc. It's apparent that you have nothing to offer. Nemesis Authority and of course, victory is negative as a preconception...Bruce Lee's philosophy. Your mistake. Nature of the world. Done.

  • I don't see what the concern is, there are black movie makers. I understand the misrepresentation by the company completely. We consume, we spend money, etc; but that doesn't mean there can't be a more appropriate product produced into a feature length film.

  • @xWindShadowMothx Then again I DO understand how, if our dollars go towards the productions of films catering to every other ethnicgroup but blacks, then we should have a more noteworthy and better marketed product to consume, and as I stated before, a lot of young suburbanite girls of other races agree. Seriously, hate based on the idea that another ethnic groups perspective is wrong, or any other basis is garbage. Good video. Good arguments.

  • iDIGRESSalot = nonsensical tangents, and baseless arguments to have their own need for verbal abuse to be the means by which they justify their own bigotry. Don't be whoever influenced them, even though you COULD become that person for iDIGRESSalot, and quite easily do the same amount of harm...that is unless you enjoy that kind of thing. In which case, no thanks. They lose when they're argument is withered to slander. Me, an enemy? *shrugs*

  • @xWindShadowMothx How do you figure my arguments are 'baseless?". Lol. I'm sorry but you're too pathetic.. And as for the other races and religions you mentioned, it's not often you hear them living in the past and bitcjing and moaning because their ancestors were wronged and wah wah fuckin wah. If anyone should be pissed, it should be the Native Americans and you never hear them complaining so get off your fucking pedestal. Try to make your posts make some fucking sense, asshole.

  • @iDIGRESSalot Baseless because you "digress" between switching back and forth between disliking blacks "as a whole", your words, and then not disliking all blacks, your words, used when Rae Rae's arguments were a lot more to the point, logical, and fair minded than your own. As far as "bitching" that is what you are doing. And these other races have organizations that promote their interests and good for them, especially their cultural parades. Native Americans DO protests.

  • @iDIGRESSalot Maybe I'll just troll and spam like you do. The only thing is I wont be hypocritical about it. I wont sit here and complain about groups of people "complaining" who don't. I wont switch up my arguments stating I hate a whole race of people, and then say "I don't hate ALL of them", which is a cop out anyway. If it's not often that YOU hear these people it shows a similar disinterest and prejudice as what you show now.

  • @xWindShadowMothx You do realize only losers write books using the YouTube Comments section, right?. And no, Native Americans have better shit to do than drudge up the past.. And I never changed my argument. I despise most blacks, yes, but as far as I'm concerned "racism" applies when an entire race is biased against. Get your head oitof your ass. You have no basis for rebuttal so you're spewing off shit like a wannabe martyr. Haha, you're a disgrace! XD

  • @iDIGRESSalot What's wrong? is it that someone is posting just as much or more than you? Or is it that you are threatened by a more sound and contemplated opinion than your own. Before I came here, you posted more. Secondly there is an entire bureau of Indian Affairs. A LOT of things in Native American lives has to do with the past they were nearly genocided out of existence that tends to ripple through time. The martyr is you...bleeding out in denial.

  • @xWindShadowMothx Actually, before you came on here, people didn't post pages upon pages of nonsensical bullshit.. People actually had CIVILIZED conversation, not a ton of NS. Just an fyi.

  • @xWindShadowMothx And now that you've finally shut the fuck up, people can actually have THEIR comments seen. Selfish bitch.

  • @iDIGRESSalot You have yet to address a single argument. Your arguments are based on posting method and generalizations that are simply untrue. This shows that you are uninformed, ignorant, and interestingly enough quite certain of the idea that from these basis for whatever you say you have a solid argument in anyone of your cop outs, lies, or ridiculous tangents, when you do not. Maybe you dont see other races standing up for your rights because you're always here.

  • @xWindShadowMothx AMERICANS stand up forourrights - race has nothing to do with it. Maybe we could assume you're anti-American for making that incorrect statememt? Seems fair, since you're making prejudiced assumptions about everyone else.

  • @xWindShadowMothx Oh, and if you weren't an illiterate jackass, you would've seen where I said I didn't dislike all blacks. Pretty much shoots your racism bullshit out the fucking window.

  • Comment removed

  • @iDIGRESSalot If I were illiterate I would certainly not be able to make sense of random, weak, petty, and inexcusable trolling of a single Disney cartoon thread whose subject is a Princess (regardless of her race), even if slang is generally some of the first words learned in language, academically, this is not the case and if you look at a quote from your own post, YOU back the argument that you are racist...not me.

  • It's pretty simple though, just DON'T buy their stuff. That's all. They STEAL stories, and their main demographic (Young suburban girls) are making videos about their racism and how it isn't appreciated because it makes it so that they are unable to consume fiscally smart marketing and promotion of ALL of the "princesses". Listen to racists if you want to lose capital. Otherwise, listen to your main consumers and then you'll get MORE consumers Disney. Otherwise, I don't care.

  • Forget the frog, why did they have to put voodoo/sorcery/witchcraft etc. in it?

  • I THOUGHT IT WAS KINDA FUNNY HOW PRINCESS TIANA'S WHITE FEMALE FRIEND TRIED TO STEAL TIANA'S CUTE PRINCE!......LOL! JUST LIKE REAL LIFE, WHITE WOMAN GETTIN ALL THE GOOD MEN ... -RUBY

  • @1473Tiera : / Boo

  • I never watched that movie for the fact they used a black princess. My entire childhood, every Disney princess was white and to me, this movie was just a pathetic attempt to soothe the black community so they can, once AGAIN, feel like they have control over everyhing.

  • Comment removed

  • @SoRaeSings Yes, if it had been a white princess, I probably would have. And no, I don't like black people. Funny thing is, I started out actually liking them. Until little by little they began to take advantage of the rights granted them by the unending struggle by white Americans. Now that Obama's in office, they're on this constant ego trip, thinking we'll bow down since, according to many blacks, "we OWE them for the pain & suffering their great-great-great x 30 ancestors went through."

  • @iDIGRESSalot thing is you're trying to make it seem as though ALL black people think that way. White people owing them for what pain? Slavery and all that stuff happened over 100 years ago. I'm black and I agree that some blacks need to get over themselves and should quit acting as though the entire world owes them something because Obama is president. I'm not an american black so maybe that's why I feel that way, but there are actually some of us who are educated and civilized.

  • @SoRaeSings I know not all blacks are like that. There are some blacks I like, those that are, as you say, educated and civilized. I just don't agree that, for the majority, they expect everyone to like them because of their skin-color, yet also expect MORE because of their skin-color. That's like a double-standard.

  • @iDIGRESSalot yes, but I do feel you shouldn't have watched the movie just because it's focused on a black princess, when in reality the commercials are misleading because she doesn't really become a princess until the last ten minutes of the movie. I do believe that it was an attempt to soothe the black community seeing the movie came out around the time Obama became president. All in all the color of her skin has nothing to do with the movie, because it's not really what the story is about.

  • @SoRaeSings I know. :) But its still hard for me to get past the skin color. Maybe that makes me shallow as hell and I know it probably sounds stupid, but I think a lot of racism comes from blacks (most of them) conditioning us to hate them. Why else would you be proud of appearing as a dead-beat living in the ghetto with all gold teeth, mooching off hardworking Americans to get welfare and food stamps? And they can do it BECAUSE they're black.

  • @iDIGRESSalot You are preconditioned to draw in hatred towards yourself or you would not be on this thread mixing xenophobia with befuddled back-tracking, deception, glossing over of previous statements made by yourself, or dodging pertinent arguments, the foundations of which are based on true contemporary and historical fact that include the concerns of other races including your own. This is about YOU, not what blacks did to you in 2008, or on a rap video.

  • @iDIGRESSalot Welfare, gold teeth, living in poor communities. These are all demonizations made by yourself. Welfare is there to help, it helps many whites and those of other cultures that need it, same with food stamps, kinder-care, job search help, it's called social work. Gold teeth are decorative of for dental repair work, neither of which affects you. She never said she was proud of living in the ghetto. Races other than yours like homes and not prejudice social experiments.

  • I'm not trying to argue the same point to piss anyone off. You've made some good points as well. :P I'm just trying to explain where I think my OVERALL dislike for blacks has come from and the way it affects a lot of my viewpoints. But, as I said too, I don't dislike them all, just the majority. Lol

  • @iDIGRESSalot oh I'm really sorry, I didn't want to come off as if I'm trying to start an argument. I understand where your dislike is coming from and I feel that way about people as a hole. You've also made extremely valid points that I see no problem with. Anyways, thank you for the civilized discussion and for the fact that this didn't turn into a pointless fight with name calling and all. So Yea, have a nice day. (:

  • @SoRaeSings I know you weren't starting anything. :) and I too enjoyed our civil debate. :) you have a good day too!

  • @iDIGRESSalot "Overall dislike of black people" "I don't dislike them all". Cop out and then LoL. Very funny. Well, I happen to think oooh Chinese are interesting, love hearing traditional music, amazes me how quickly they bounced back from occupation, I feel for the human rights problems there that they DO, and rightfully so complain about. Love classical, and metal music, Robert Frost, the computer, I even find Nordic Pagan theology irresistible. No ifs ands buts or digressions.

  • @xWindShadowMothx Yeah, a general dislike is not the same thing as racism. Simple as that. And good job on pointing that out yourself! Fuckin idiot. >.>

  • @iDIGRESSalot A general dislike or only a dislike of most certainly is passionate enough to find yourself at odds with the demographic mentioned the the tune of the number of posts that you made turning this into a flaming about welfare, gold teeth, mooching off hard working Americans, and even a discounting of blacks accepted as descendants of Aaron by Israel, which shows a homogenous perspective of Jews that the Nazi's used to make laws to kill them.

  • @xWindShadowMothx This is one reason this argument is one-sided... Because your posts make NO fucking sense.

  • @xWindShadowMothx The only thing I've been able to gather from you is that you're attempting to hide your ignorance by bunching big words together. And it's hilarious, i might add.

  • @iDIGRESSalot An argument for civilization from one that shows very little respect for it themselves and not only that demonstrates almost none of the qualities associated with that sociological state of existence. Not to mention a failure to demonstrate (even after rebuttal) or accept when blacks are telling you otherwise, an understanding of current events in mainstream or alternative media. I suppose next you'll say the JEWS control it too much...which is a lie as well.

  • @xWindShadowMothx I hope others will see what's sofunny about yourlatest edition of BS. Haha! You're last comment? Good job, anti-semitic swine! You fucked yourself with that comment. How long have you been a Nazi, because seems to me you've been thinking on that one for quite a while.

  • @iDIGRESSalot Anti semitic when my last post was actually directed at your own bigotry Mr. "Overall dislike for blacks" hypocrisy. In actuality, if you look at the time stamps, responses to your posts did not take much thought at all, as it would suggest that your own postings took thought and not projected self perception and stigmatism onto entire groups of people. Yet since you failed to comprehend the content of my post I redirect your use of the label "illiterate" back to you.

  • @xWindShadowMothx You're the one full of shit. That why you're so pissed off?. Because you exposed yourself as a Jew-hating Nazi? That tends to happen when you stick your foot in your mouth.

  • @iDIGRESSalot I never said that I haven't HEARD that in the media. What are you talking about YOU owe us..so now you hate blacks. Take responsibility for you OWN actions and emotions and owe YOURSELF to not come up with excuses for, yes, being shallow and racist. I mean here you are talking about stuff I have not seen or heard; but there are articles and videos STILL of whites wanting to kill Obama or retaliating at work after his election you DON'T represent whites for me though.

  • @xWindShadowMothx You're a whiner that's all there is to it. You're a hypocrite cause you want to bitch and complain and really your problems are about YOU and nobody else. You're using the same bullshit arguments that were brouht up by bigots BEFORE Obama was even noticed by Kissinger. Dont put words in my mouth or anybody else's liar.

  • @xWindShadowMothx Haha, you tell em! Oh, wait, kinda looks like you're criticizing yourself, dumb shit. Maybe you wanna learn how to use the Comments on Youtube?

  • @iDIGRESSalot We BOTH know who I'm talking to. YOU. Now that that's cleared up, I'll explain that the responses are the way they are so they can be read as one whole response. If you were worth a quarter of your bitching you would know that. You're just a bitter troll and nothing more. If racism is a black issue talk to some Irish, talk to some Native Americans, Talk to some Jews, talk to the Chinese. It affected and sterotypes CONTINUE to affect these groups. Digress to logic. Ass

  • @xWindShadowMothx Don't pretend to know what the fuck you're even talking about. And if you haven't seem the reverse side of racism, then maybeyou're watching racist television. :O. Ever thought of that, dumbass? And for that matter, racism IS a black issue - most of them get offended at the N word even thoughthey promote its use amongst themselves. If it's racist for one race to say it, then it'sunacceptable for ANY race to say it. YOU'RE the racist, not us.

  • @iDIGRESSalot Actually the "reverse" side of racism applies to family and friends of mine, has applied to coworkers, etc. and this is not limited to the idea (like your own) that there are only a couple of affected races, or the races that do or do not support any statements that I make. It is with the idea that it applies to ALL RACES, affects ALL RACES and so therefore, what might "reverse" racism be to someone who admits to general dislikes.

  • @xWindShadowMothx Don't dodge the point, moron.. Again, didn't make sense.. IDGAF about your friends and family and coworkers. I'm talking about the majority of blacks being just as racist.

  • @iDIGRESSalot Whites use "Redneck" and "White Trash" (which show a distinction usually dividing tax brackets) and then there are terms for whites that are more ethnically based. If you are saying that their own ethnic, cultural and heritage concerns are based on the number of times these words are used among the demographics normally having these words applied, then you would be mistaken, and that is precisely what you are suggesting.

  • @iDIGRESSalot No, actually blacks are quite humble about it comparatively speaking...to your OWN rantings. Also, the concerns being addressed currently seem to have less to do with history and more to do with contemporary race relations, a topic which is certainly not having a constructive application of thought from whatever schools of opinion you hail from. Besides that you (as many like you) exclude other races, those of mixed decent, and whites who disagree with you.

  • @iDIGRESSalot "Soothe" Hmm. So, you "Overall dislike for blacks" but "...never watched that movie for the fact they used a black princess." Well, uhh...blacks are not "soothed" by this movie and you did not bother to even see it, yet here you are watching a black man on the video, and making sweeping and very rude commentary that, (were others as closed minded as you) would do nothing for readers' perception of YOUR race.

  • I think how ever Disney played it, they would've faced criticism anyway. Some people are just way too sensitive. Personally I think the movie was excellent!

  • Just be thankful that theres a BLACK princess. geez

  • @iHellotaku

meh. I'm black and this movie is meh.

  • Comment removed

  • @xWindShadowMothx These are all instances of racism. Fear and an inability to appreciate another perspective, then Demonization of the races comes through media after that violence. It has always been that way and the nonsensical arguments that we need to be thankful to companies misrepresenting people is ridiculous. You can choke down eugenicist propaganda if you want. I'm not interested.

  • wow. this is just annoying. Nothing is ever good enough. haha no matter what nothing will ever meet the black society standards. geez. I think white people should stop trying. Her skin isn't dark enough? haha when Matell came out with the black barbie her skin was TOO DARK!! What is your ideal skin color? if Tiana's skin color was lighter then you would've been angry about that too. TIANA is a black girl and that's all that matters!! Stop focusing so much on these things. Who really cares? ugggh

  • Comment removed

  • Disney was created by Walt Disney (a WHITE MALE) so disney has every right not to have black characters

  • No matter what it seems like black people are going to complain regarding this movie. Although progession was made at least. And for Princess tiana being a for a lenghty time in the movie a frog...i also dont get but since the Prince was obviously NOT BLACK it couldve been bc disney wanted blk girls to see themself as pretty yet not get carried away into still wanting fully black children therefore marry a mixed or whiter prince to have lighter mixed babies!!

  • Hey, it's not that easy, being green!

  • wow are you really crying over a damm cartoon...

    wow your pathetic......

  • All Disney princesses learn some life lesson & she learned her lesson as frog. How do you know she was Creole? Not everyone in LA is Creole. She & the white girl were friends & she was doing her white friend a favor by working at the dinner. They both got something out of it. Tiana got the money for her restaurant and her friend got the beignets. Blacks were going to complain either way & it's crazy.

  • It's the same thing with the swan princess. She's a swan for most of the movie.

  • lol "We've seen Snow White, who's White." At least the skin color of Tiana is not her name. Don't complain unless her name is "Tar Black" or something. I mean...jeez.

  • lol "We've seen Snow White, who's White."

  • I understand what you mean to an extent but some of your opinion I completely think is just eh...I mean if it makes you feel any better, Ariel couldn't speak for half the movie, Aurora is in a slumber for a third of the movie, Snow White was poisoned, Mulan is disrespected for half or more of the movie...so really Idt there is anything to go crazy about, there will probably be more movies if you don't like this one.

  • "If you do not understand White Supremacy (Rascism) What it is, and how it works everything else that you understand, will only confuse you" Dr. Neely Fuller Jr. (1971) Dr. Neely Fuller "The United Independent Compensatory Code/System/Concept"

@lifeOcean good job on your analysts of the movie, but the rabbit hole goes a lot deeper then that. As to the real reasoning behind this madness. Get Neely Fuller Jr. book & search his name in youtube.

  • It reminds me alittle of Shrek (the Scottish guy) kissed the princess and she turns into a princess. Nobody in Scotland complained.

hollywood movies are full of stereotypes. How many movies have the bad guys with English accents.

The real question is why would you want to see a black princess? The royal families of Europe and Asia have enslaved 99% of the world for centuries. To the heredity royals we are all slaves. Why aspire to that?

  • lol i never bothered to watch that movie. i knew it was gonna be some bullshit. lmao they made it seem like she really was a princess.

  • Disney can go to hell Black people need not support them...i've been saying it for decades. They could have made a story about John Henry but HELL NO; instead they made Tarzan, Hercules, Atlantis etc.,

  • hahahahahahaaha white people are just to smart LMAO!!!! ROFL

  • Almost all of Disneys movies that came from old fairytales have been changed in some way for many reasons sometimes to make it less grim, more child friendly or simply to make it new. examples of this to name a few: the little mermaid, in the original tail she dies in the end. Hercules, Hera is not his mum and always trying to kill him, Pocahontas, she was 12 when she met john smith. The list goes on and on.

  • Tiana wasn't a servant to Charlotte (her white friend). She just worked at two restaurants & her & Charlotte are best friends. Why did she have to be a frog? I don't know, who cares, It was a fairytale. Disney finally makes a black princess & people want to complain about it acting like Disney made Tiana a slave trying to escape her master or something...geez.

They made a fairytale, key word "fairytale." I saw nothing wrong with it. But I did like you video.

  • i think disney did that because they wanted to switch up the plot a little bit

  • 1. Tiana means princess in Greek

    2. She's not creol she's black

    3. She's not a servant, the white girl is actually a childhood friend of hers. Tiana's mother is a seamstress and makes dresses for the white girl and Tiana and her grow up together and remain friends.

    4. Yeah it sucks that she's a frog but honestly one of the real reasons Disney hasn't touched working with black characters is because no matter what we're going to be pissed about something.

  • @lilkeebler1 1. They changed her name to Tiana after people made noise about it. This video was made a year ago, the movie wasn't even out yet.

    2. Creole is a common heritage in Louisiana given it's French background and although I'm not sure it was indicated in the movie, she may have very well been creole (not that that matters)

    3. She was initially supposed to be a servant, and if you ask me, she WAS a servant.

    4. Have you seen any of the old Disney movies? Do that and see why we're mad.

  • @iBlissTV Yes Disney has a long history of making poor choices when it comes to portraying characters other than white. Are there major...huge...racillay fueled problems with the Princess and the Frog...in my opinion no. It seems like people are really reaching to find something wrong and the arguments are sooooo weak it's sad.

  • @iBlissTV 1. Your comment for #1 just reinforces what I said for #4 in my original post. They were going to name her Medline and call her "Maddy" for short. Too many people complained that "MAddy" was a slave name. Honestly it's a French name and very popular in the New Orleans area. So they changed it to Tiana which is simply greek for Princess and somehow people still find an issue with that.

  • @iBlissTV 2. For # 2 yes you're right it does not matter. I'd gathered however that she wasn't Creole mainly because Creole are much fairer skin than she was depicted due to their French genetic connection. You're right she very well might have been creole but I missed the geneology section or family tree education part of the film. If there is info that points to her being Creole please point me in the right direction.

  • @iBlissTV Finally yes she was originally supposed to be a servant but who cares? Cinderella was a chamber maid...servant who wore rags. Snow White wore rags and was forced to clean the palace. But the minute you create a black character and place them in a servant roll it's wrong? Sounds like a reverse double standard to me. Let's face it servants come in all shapes and colors even black. Let go of the slave days and let's try to move forward. (And yes I'm a black person).

  • @lilkeebler1 srry about him. but i'm not pissed... i'm black, i actually enjoyed the movie and I'm just glad that my daughter's interest in disney can be more positve now that someone who looks like her is apart of it

  • @lilkeebler1 Right it has nothing to do with Walt Disney the founder calling blacks "Snowflakes" or anything. Or Popeye calling Japanese "Japs". Actually I find blacks to be quite agreeable when things are fair, honest, open and without unnecessary quotable. There is not "we" being pissed "no matte what", not in my hole life have I met a single black person like that. It's a stereotype and it's just not true.

  • maybe an egyptian princess?

they would most likely have the glitter and magic that little girls like.

  • How come the price is white? why is America- Disney so scared of a Pure Strong Black or NoN-white male figure that is the real question. I mean would Disney ever have made a Jew princesss movie set in Nazi Germany and the Prince was white. No they wouldn't dare make a movie like that . but they still put out this garbage and expect people to be cool with it.

The real question is, have you seen the movie? He's not white. He doesn't speak like he's white, doesn't act like he's white.

Why not actually WATCH the movie before engaging in a discussion about it? You'll look less stupid that way.

  • thanks for the response, just so i'm clear, oh wise one, how does a white person act or speak?

I'm just judging from the fact his hair isn't black or curly, and his skin appears to be white.

    P.U.

    Master Lee Mochow

  • Yes, yes, recognize my wisdom j'k

I am going to assume you are looking at the same pic that everyone runs into, instead of actual movie footage. Watch the trailer at least, you will see he is not white. He looks more latino than anything.

  • @MasterLeeMochow because then disney would be attacked for not having interracial couples!

isn't an interracial couple a lot less racist?

  • My friend the Southern Plantation had plenty of interracial couples, and it was still very much racist.

Plus the fact that every thing in the movie took thought, they have a film making process. that incorporate subliminal messages. Remember the little maid?

    thanks

    P.U.

    Master Lee Mochow

  • fuck ' The Princess and the Weed Frog'

  • ill tell you why

it gives the story somewhere to go. They couldnt have had a romance between a man and woman in a swamp with an alligator friend.

also, they wanted to change the story and give the two characters a chance to fall in love while struggling to become human.

    just some more thoughts.

  • Disney spent too many years cranking out racist movies.

More of the focus to me is that they short changed the first black princess into having a non-exhistant roll..it is demeaning.

We really can't expect much out of white America, since lynching Blacks was only abolished in 1968.

    Being white is quite exasperating.

  • mmmkay....aside from all other things you have been corrected on, heres another: at 3:34 you said she is a servant to a white person..........on the contrary to your dissecting of the film to find what is offensive to YOU....she was NObody's servant...AND she was the BEST FRIEND of the white person you mentioned. The sad thing is, you probably only went to the movie with the intention of looking for how racism was going to be portrayed.

  • Oh and the reason for the setting and her initial name "maddy" was to keep the movie historically correct. Keep in mind the movie took place at NOLA circa early 1900's, which was roughly the time black people were liberated from slavery.

With every other Disney movie like Mulan they did the same thing... it's a fantasy world, but still historically accurate. If they did make it in Africa, I'm sure 90% of US folks wouldn't know what's going on because we're too Westernized.

  • And its as gdspam said below: there's too much black sensitivity nowadays... and it's rediculous. The movie is not being discriminative, nor is it racist. If they did make it in a African setting, then I'm sure some black people who cry out "why did they have to make it African? What's wrong with her being from America?" I think fellas like you just have a reason to nit-pick at something related to being black so much which never makes you happy...

Make a better movie then if ur not happy.

  • Oh and hey, no one complained about the dude from Aladdin sounding very white as oppossed to middle eastern, or that Kuzco from The Emperor's New Groove was a llamma through most of the film (they're from Peru), or in general, how the pretty white women in teen movies always have to be blonde...

Point being you sir (LifeOcean) are just acting so analytical and sensitive. Get out of your "why this why that cause we're black" mentallity. I'm not hating on you, but seriously...

  • Okay, most of you are really psycho-analyzing the damn movie; get over your damn black sensitivity!

First, talking about Tiana being a waitress: wasn't Cinderella a servant for her sisters or whoever? Thats worse than a waitress who aspires to own a restaurant.

Secondly: yes shes black but is that the only reason you watched the movie? Sheesh stop looking at the world only as color.

For the record, I'm dating a black person of so far 5 years so don't even call me racist & I'm not white.

  • your so right, but fuck obama, he hasnt done shit yet except take peoples money!

  • I agree. First thing I thought when watching the movie: Why didn't they take an African story? Also, why was her big dream to have her own restaurant, now, without disrespecting restaurant owners (I worked as a waitress myself for years), it's not really shooting for the stars, is it, it's still a service based profession.

  • "gypsy" isnt a race...idiot...its a crude term

  • Just like "black people" isn't a race.

  • (movie was great!

Why does the fact that she turns into a frog make the movie bad? She is a strong, abitous individual from the first 5 minutes on. Here is a concept: what if making black people feel better WASNT the only motive for the movie? What if it was for ENTERTAINMENT? It shouldnt matter if she was black, white, brown, or green, the moral was to bring people together. Honestly, they used a westernized story. Get over it. Lion King was African (altough Simba had a white voice)

  • Just saw the movie and Tiana isn't a servent, she's a waitress.

As to why this had to have a black princess, and not another story, from Africa to tell, its very easy to explain. Most if not all disney princess stories are well known fairy tales. Most children in westernized society know and understand them. Thus making them financially feasible. Is there a African princess story that is similar in that aspect?

  • Well I see what your saying about the princess being a frog the majority of the movie. I saw the movie and they did have her as a human for a good amount of time and she even turns into a human for a brief period before she is officially cured. As if they were anticipating such a complaint and tried to get Human-tiana as much screen time as possible for the plot.

  • Since my original comment on here seems like it wasn't posted, I said that entertainment is entertainment. If someone gets offended by something, they will find reason to be offended. I never heard any white person complain about Mel Gibson's "The Passion of the Christ" for a white person playing Jesus on the basis of race. I think we all know Jesus wasn't white historically but it's a MOVIE. It's a damn fairy tale people, dig it or don't, stop whining.

  • Walt Disney was also not a racist himself and I think he was a representative of what a secular humanist should be.

Nora Salisbury wrote an excellent article on the subject of Walt Disney in "Walt Disney was NOT Racist!".

  • @MysteryManoLove Yeah he was. He absolutely was. There are quotes behind how racist he was...from his own mouth.

  • im with you on this one - being a little black girl a while back not seeing ME in any cartoons etc. i grew up thinking white was better.

  • @ErykahMoniqueDotCom I don't understand; but at least people grow out of it. The truth is...there is no "better". Understanding that now puts you so far above so many people it's not funny. Why? It's the concern, the regard, the stigma, the abuse, the anger, the stress all of it. Really. Feeling someone is "better" or "worse" due to something they have no control over is just not healthy. Hate, anger, loathing, etc. draws more of the same to the person and causes illness.

  • lol this made me laugh a little :)

i know where your coming from and all but disney has always had to change original stories a whole lot so that the original author dsnt sue them or whatever. please dont tell me your hating on this movie tho :( im actually looking forward to it and looks real good.

  • Not hating on the movie at all. I just think Disney could have came up with a better plot than to make the girl a frog for most of the movie.

  • Where was the outrage when the first Inuit Kenai was portayed as a bear during the movie brother bear? Or the outrage when kuzco was a llama during The Emperor's New Groove?

These things were part of the story, not some remark or shot a culture.

Opinions are fine, but this "controversy" is getting to the point where overly sensitive black people are trying to find things to complain about, from being an animal to historically incorrect, acting like it's never been done to anyone else.

  • @SmashBroDx People have openly expressed outrage about all of the Disney movies of all races. YouTube is only five years old. Disney has been doing this for years. It has nothing to do with our "sensitivity" but their insensitivity.

  • @iBlissTV

Each one claiming that when their race was portayed, that it was automatically a shot at them, totally ignoring the depictions of others before them, and acting like it has never been done before.

It has alot to do with insensitivity, especially since this concept of people turning into animals has been present not only long enough for people to complain on youtube about it, not only before the idea of a black princess even came about, but before Disney even started making movies.

  • @SmashBroDx YOU ARE RIGHT -RUBYTHERIOT

  • Black people are the most sensitive people on the planet... White people have to tip toe around you constantly so that your feelings are not hurt. You wonder why Disney said its hard to find a good story line for a black princess? They knew people like you would nit pick whatever they did and call them racist. Do you really want Disney to make the first black princess from an African Tribe? I promise you if Disney did that Black people would go nuts even more than they have.

  • Very Good Vid Life Ocean. Truth be told.

  • Dear sir,

I enjoy your video and I enjoy your opinion. However, I myself have no complaint with her being turned into a frog. To me that conjures up memories of many other films in which the lead character is transformed in one form or another. It's just a fun plot device. That being said, I will look forward to seeing this movie when it comes out.

  • "land far away" and have black people without the heavy accent. Disney dropped the ball on this one... ofcourse.

  • Great vid! You are SO right! Tis movie is full of stereotypes... including the use of hot sauce. The only point I slightly disagree with is that the story should/could have originated from an African tale. I don't think the story had to be set in any real location... especially NOT New Orleans! When I hear of New Orleans back in the day I think of jazz clubs, booze, sin, etc; and nowadays Katrina just comes to mind. Why couldn't Disney simply choose or make up a fairytale set in a (cont.)

I do know that alot of what disney does would please homsexuals anyhow, the portrayal of large, vigorous males in heroic roles etc, the intellectual side, the heavy use of mythology and folklore.

But I think that the artistic style of commentary that disney use are of the kind that go "never forget". They try to portray the spirit of the times, in a way that is loyal to the events in the real world.

I dont know if that has anything to do with it, but that is what I know.

  • @Muppephile They FAIL to portray contemporary life in ANY way. They TAKE their stories from OLD stories of OTHER cultures and WRECK the stories. So as a homosexual you are ok with Greece having NO gays which is outlandish...or for that matter (if they make a Japanese film) NO gays among the feudal Japanese, which is crap too? I doubt that. Homosexuality isn't just about your SEXUALITY it's who you are. I don't make excuses for these mistakes because of cartoon women. Be Real.

  • I am not Black, but I am from another minority group so maybe I can provide some illumination.

Disney have a long standing tradition of trying to please everyone, at the expense of a small minority who are rarely happy about stereotypes.

I am homosexual, and of course the homsexual has never had equal portrayal.

  • you speak the truth.

  • And why is the prince basically a white man???

  • um, he's european, his skin is not white, it's brown. He's from a fictional country.

  • Why do homosexuals continue trying to relate their experiences to those of African Americans.......? Not saying you don't have a legitimate complaint, but this is soooooo NOT ABOUT YOU! Of course Disney is not trying to please homosexuals, but at least they never produced multiple offensive portrayals of your people, like they did to blacks. Because of the past, I will never support Disney! I will never forget their past offenses. Now they are trying to get that black dollar, sick!!

  • @Nenendude RIGHT! EXACTLY! Just don't spend money on their propoganda. Seriously, like I said, even little Indian and white girls who COLLECT their stuff are crying foul on this. You can't fool them. They want the WHOLE collection of blankets or dolls, so the racism shows its face when only the white princesses are available in a collection o only the movies with the white princesses are promoted and marketted. That's money LOST. LET THEM lose that money. Little girls teach it! <3

  • @Nenendude If it's brown and he's European he could be a Moore. There is a LOT of covered up history about the Moores. This black white hate nonsense wasn't always there, and not only that there was black hierarchy. You have to dig though. Remember what Germany did to the art in Rome? They whitewashed it. What do you think happened to true black history in Europe? : / Hmm? Africa has resources ALWAYS did. At that time there WERE blacks (even mixed) in Europe. Don't believe the hype.

  • It is just A movie! For crying out Loud!. It think this is going to be awsome! Like something We have not seen Before.. And to be fair, Ariel was not abel to speak for the majority of the movie! Its better to look like a frog, and still be able to speak than just be quiet through out the whole movie. Its not like they are trying to be racist? Why would they, the president is black for goods sake. I think they just wanted a fun story line, and well from the look of it they have!!

  • @gobais53 A fun storyline? Exciting? Real frogs can be fun and exciting a jab at an entire portion of a consumer demographic of a companies products and services is just plain DUMB business. It's the same old crap.

  • Life Ocean, for almost five minutes. You've done nothing but go through the most overrated and obvious talking points, most of which I know you did not put any full research into whatsoever, and you have no evidence of whether the movie is good or bad.

  • Please look at the date I uploaded this video. I am not saying the movie is going to be good or bad. I AM STATING MY DISLIKE OF THE FIRST BLACK PRINCESS BEING A FROG, WHEN ALL OTHERS WERE HUMAN.

  • Thank you for putting this on blast!!! I have been thinking the exact same thing. Why did she have to be turned into a frog? How much of the movie does she spend as a frog? I hear you, thank you brother!!!

I just wish I had kids, so I could no allow them to watch this movie.

  • Okay, other than the fact that she lives in New Orleans, how do you know she's creole? Because, I've been doing some research and nobody's really specified on how BLACK she is. Nor do I think anyone would care.

  • Comment removed

  • Because it matters on how she is PORTRAYED. You're basically saying people (I guess you mean black) should be happy that there is a black princess at all- simply not correct.

  • wouldn't the movie be boring if she kissed him & BAM he's a guy . the end

THAT movie doesn't sound like much

  • Yes that would be boring! I IN NOW WAY STATED THAT'S HOW IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN..I am just giving my opinion on Disney's first black princess being a frog for a good 70% of the movie...

  • very true..if that happend what would the rest of the movie be about

  • ...they do have to make everything historically accurate. So what's wrong with a black girl being a maid, which would've been normal then, and become a princess? It just shows how one can ascend themselves. Now this story is even stronger, because she's a herione who strives for her dreams. People don't jump and cry RACIST at everything. How can we grow from that if people keep on playing the black = racist card? Also I must say there's no pure black...unless you have pureblood African lineage.

  • Ok, one thing I can't stand is we people make assumption. Until Walt Disney rise from his grave and say "I'm a racist" or have a document with his hand writing stating so...then we can say that personally the man "Walt Disney" is racist. Don't call him racist..because he clearly showed the life style going about in his time with the Jim Crow character and Sunflower in Fantasia. Would people stop being ultrasenstive? Also I see nothing wrong with Tiana being a maid.

  • What you do for entertainment is your business, but where children are involved we cannot sacrifice fun at the expence of short- & longterm SELF-ESTEEM. We need to write our own books and make our own movies to reflect ourselves. We are talented, creative, and caring. If you're a movie maker, send me a trailer, chances are I'll buy it if the content is worthy! I support Nubian material and others will if its available.

  • What a pity! What we need to do is stop watcing all this crap. Disney, nor anyother medium controlled primarily by Europeans will ever put Nubians in a beneficial light. Majority of them still think they're superior to us. Those who don't understand the peramiters of visual indoctrination will only support Disney pro-Euorpean AGENDA. I get books and movies with Nubian characters & Authors because I SEEK them. I'm not waiting for them to Look for my children. We need positive ROLE MODLES.

  • I'm sorry, but in my opinion, saying that a black princess can't be turned into a frog but a white princess can is another form of racism.

Same with the whole maid controversy. Snow White was a maid. Cinderella was a maid. They were white. But when "Maddy" was a maid, its "OMG racist!"
