I remember being psyched about this trailer simply because it had music from Francis Ford Coppola's "Dracula" film. Best teaser trailer? No. Best music ever? ABSOLUTELY!
Wow i never realized how much trailers have improved. When i first saw this trailer in theatres i was so excited. Now when i look back it looks like one of those high school amateur trailers for a film class project.
Improved since Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl? They had some damn good teasers in the 80s and 90s that rival even today's stuff.
before i saw the film (i saw the trailer for dead man's chest before the film as well), i really liked this (it was on the treasure island dvd) it was cool, scary, fun to watch.
I saw this preview when i was in florida the day before we started our disney world vacation. We saw the movie "Bringing down the House." i was thinking, "How would they ever make a ride into a movie" but it made me want to ride pirates as soon as possible.
I remember when I first saw this. I was like, "What?" This trailer has so little to do with the actual movie and at the time, it really confused me. Can't believe it's been so long since it came out. So addicting...*shakes head*
This trailer came out before "Curse of the Black Pearl" was added on as a sub-title. Legend has it, once they realized it had potential for a sequel, they tossed COTBP on, and Verbinski hated it so much he made them make the text small to the point where it was almost unreadable on posters.
I can't remember what movie I was seeing when I saw this trailer in the box office, but even though I only caught the trailer once, I knew right then I had to see the movie. And it's been a favorite of mine ever since!
Dude neither can I, I THINK I saw it when i went to see The Master of DIsguise but im not sure! I do remember i was like "Oh shyt! This is gonna be awesome as fuck!!"
i remember seeing it also. back when orlando bloom was popular and actually had a career...i remember muffled gasps and sighs when depp's name appeared. that hasn't changed much either.

I was just thinking that! This seems like a trailer for the 80's/90's
And I don't think i saw a single shark in the whole movie
increasethepeacee 2 years ago
Yeah there was. When they were sailing through the ship graveyard during a camera shot from below we can see a hammerhead shark swimming above it.

Macattack5545 3 years ago
Yes indeed, it gives away nothing of the plot, and yet, once the trailer's over, you wanna see the movie!
