I must be old, becuase I still do the Traditional Fuk Son style, with the traditional head. These little kids these days jump way too much with the Hok Son Style. Fuk Son has a better style anyways. It pretty to watch.

What do you think? do you like the "old school" lion costumes or the newer versions? I like the newer ones because they look more like lions/cats; I have to say the older/traditional costumes had very beautiful colours, not like the appalling ones they came up with today (pink, purple, blue, neon green?)

I like both but for different reasons. I think the moderns heads are more cute, but the old style heads are more ferocious looking. Might be the style they're played, hoksan is much more fluid/playful. I grew up watching the fierce lion, so I prefer that more.

I prefer the Tradtional Fut San lionheads. The modern lion heads today do resemble a more realistic look and feel of a lion. I do agree that the traditional lion heads look more fierce (ie. Zhang Fei or Guan Gong colour patterns). One thing that I dont like about the modern lion head is they look too cute, cuddly, and the colours of pink, purple, NEON are just hideous! The modern lionheads have no traits of its predecessors. Finally, FUT SAN > HOK SHAN

I like futsan heads...but hok shan tails are easier to do cool tricks on. But yes Fut San is much better. Lions are meant to be fierce to scare away the demons and bad luck, not cute and cuddly.
