It's horribly sad and ironic that most soldiers that win the medal of honor are dead. Not many can risk their lives to achieve such a honor, and still be alive. Heh, it's practically like getting a award for dying in the place of another...Thank you.

hardest part about being honor guard and doing funerals is giving the flag to the wife/husband/mother/father/etc­. Trying to keep your bearing while they're crying in front of you is hell. Nearly broke bearing myself once or twice.

I have a 9 month old little boy and seeing that little boy getting the flag for his dad made me lose it. All i have to say is thank you to all of those that had to make the ultimate sacrifice so that we can enjoy the lives that we live. I was planning on joining the marines until my son came along. I wouldn't be able to handle being away from him or my wife. I can't even begin to imagine how hard it must be for our soldiers to have to be away from their families for so long.

Hard to imagine we've lost more of our best and bravest to this war than we did to the 9/11 attacks. I wish I could thank each and every family personally for their sacrifice.
