I have a friend who is dramatically helping diabetics by getting them on ionized water and Real Salt (available at most healthfood stores) measure your blood sugar, sprinkle a litte of this salt in the palm of your hand, toss it in your mouth, drink a glass of ionized water and wait a few minutes and take a reading again. it will probably be down 50 points! It seems expensive when you don't understand its value, which seems to be the case with nightbird and others posting here. The well water nightbird drinks may be fairly clean, but this is not about filtering water. It's about re-structuring water. Nightbird's well water is oxidizing to the body while Kangen is anti-oxidizing. This is a HUGE difference which IMO is worth many times the cost of the Enagic machines (which start at $1280).

@mpowr123 It is eliminated from the body primarily through the lungs. This continual process of heat-producing oxidation is what keeps the body temperature at 98.6. With sufficient oxygen, the body is then properly able to resist the toxic influences of various bacteria, viruses, and environmental and industrial pollutants which otherwise could lead to disease. Of course you don't get this information from companies wanting you to spends thousands of dollars on their products, do you?

@mpowr123 In the living body, heat is continually generated through the chemical action of carbon and oxygen. When the blood receives sufficient oxygen to unite with the carbon, (proportionally, two atoms of oxygen to one of carbon, oxidation is complete and carbon dioxide (CO2) is formed.

@mpowr123 Please reply to me personally if you have a comment about me. The well water I drink is not fairly clean..it is the cleanest you can get naturally..filtered by Mother Earth. As a scientist, I must tell you that it is not healthy to put "anti-oxidants" in our body non-stop. There is a reason Mother Nature made water pure without "anti-oxidants". Oxidization is a way our body kills pathogens, bacteria, viruses, fungi, and other things that may make us sick.

@Nightbird Not sure what your point is about oxygen and body temp.. seems irrelevant to my point, but I still stick to what I said earlier. Drinking Kangen does not provide the body with too many anti-oxidants. That would not be possible in this society with current stress levels. It does not interfere with the body's ability to produce oxidants when needed either. Also, mother nature does not intend us to drink pure water, as you suggest. There is much more to this than you think.

@mpowr123 I do..so just like I won't put diesel fuel in a car that only uses non-diesel, I will not alter the water that the human body has adapted to use for millions of years. If you feel ok doing this, then I wish you the best of luck, but there is plenty of research showing you can live a long & healthy life without this expense, all you need is a good diet, mild exercise & clean water.

@Nightbird If you're suggesting we've adapted to drink oxidizing tap and petrochemical laden bottled water, I stronly disagree. If you study oxidative stress and reduced water technology you'll understand that our bodies prefer this type of water, which more closely resembles the water our ancestors drank. I agree with your reco for clean water, but you're missing the important quality which is structure and charge.

The Kangen company is not a charity, they make claims to sell a product, & companies will often make wild claims to earn profit. And the human body is a finely tuned machine. Oxidation is the number 1 way it kills bacteria, pathogens & disease. Don't you wonder if putting all that anti-oxidant rich liquid in your system might interfere with this process?

If you think we have stress now, try imagining a world where things are out to eat you, you don't know where your next meal is coming from because there are no supermarkets, most of your children die from disease, and disease is all around you -this is the stress our ancestors dealt with daily. And yet, they didn't ingest anti-oxidant water & did just fine. Now they had stress!

@Crissshow I use well water..which is pure and chemical free..so I'm very lucky. But not all water is bad..and there are really great water purifiers that are not expensive. I just think the price for this water is outrageous..and it doesn't make sense to pay so much money to drink this kind of water when paying the high prices for it will hurt your health due to the stress of paying so much for it.

@Nightbird I don't know whether there are any health benefits to this water or not... I tend to be a skeptic. I'm checking this out just because I love great tasting water. In response to what you wrote though, I wanted to say that the evolution argument isn't a very good one in this case. My Grandparents didn't drink special water and they lived long lives. That doesn't mean that they may not have enjoyed better health with advances in medicine and improvements in food quality.

But whose to say their water was bad, ya know? All I know is that if we needed this type of water..Mother Nature would have provided it for us..don't you think? Humans complicate everything. @Nightbird Yeah, I think you missed my point. I'm not touting the water, I'm simply pointing out that LENGTH of LIFE is only one criteria. Another might be QUALITY of life. If there were water that truly tasted better and made my QUALITY OF LIFE (not length) better, I personally would pay for it, as I would for higher quality food. Having said that, I'm skeptical about this particular product.

Folks, these semantic arguments about ionizing salts and the water being unchanged is moot and really obsures the issue. "Water" consists of H20 molecule clusters, H+ and OH- ions, minerals, etc. Ionization produces drinking water with less free radicals and more electrons. It is measurable and the results are demonstratable.Thus, the water IS changed. This is why the company has a policy of giving away the water for free so you can experience its antioxidant capabilites for yourself.

Kangen Water is exactly like taking a drop of bleach and adding it to tap water.There is from a scientific standpoint, no difference. All water has a ph of 7. Any water testing that shows a PH not 7 means there are other substances in the water. This is basic stuff guys. Also the Health Minister of Japan has stated on record that Kangen Water has NO health benifits and there are ZERO studies indicating otherwise at this time.

It is hillarious that people are claiming Japanese hospitals use this to cure people, that is a lie. It was given a rating that means it is generally considered safe , so basically it isn't banned for being dangerous. No doctors or hospitals in Japan are using it to cure or treat any ailments. I know people who were scammed into buying one of thes machines and are trying to get a refund. 4grand to get sodium hydroxide water-gross. It has ZERO health benefit except placebos.

@mreloo Japan absolutely does NOT use this product as a health prevention, that is unture and plain moronic. You cannot "ionize" water , that is basic chemistry. Anyone who falls for this scam needs to start with Organic Chemistry 101. An ionizer can only ionize the salts/minerals in the water. The water remains unchanged, but because the salts lose their bond to hydroden because of the electric current you get sodium chlorite or sodium hydroxide which causes the litmus paper to read alkaline.

@MartinRiggs00 No it cannot be bottled and sold, it needs to be consumed asap after leaving the machine, when we share the water we ask that it be consumed within the first 48 hours, kind of like opening a can of soda and leaving it and trying to drink it the next day, the free radicals in our environment remove the good qualities of the water, although it will still be filtered and slightly alkaline, it won't have the antioxidants or micro-clustering,
