Honestly, I spent the entire time watching the movie thinking: When was he going to get ugly?!

Transformed into a hideous beast with sharp claws and unkempt fur? I think not. He just basically punk-ified his image: shaved head, tats, and scars; a drastic change, but still handsome in a more 'gothic' light.

If he turned into, oh I dunno, a fat pimply guy with a big nose, the movie would've held more weight with its moral upstanding. :l

Rating: 2/10. This includes Pettyfer's terrible acting.

They have just taken Beauty & the Beast (which is incredible, both original story and film) and turned it into another teen sob story. As if Twilight wasn't bad enough changing Vampires and Werewolves into metro-sexual dawson's creek/90210 style sad sacks. Now they have taken an amazing story that has been around for over 250 years and made it into a film aimed at 16 year old girls and if that isn't bad enough they have portrayed the BEAST as some highschool prep. @Fonz411 Beastly was a book first. It was a modern retake of the classic Beauty and the Beast story. This movie is not even like the book. The guy is an actual hairy beast in Beastly, not some tattooed freakshow. And he doesn't build the greenhouse for the girl, he builds it for himself for his roses before she ever even arrives. I won't be seeing the movie but the book is quite good.
