@KmqPL WW2 started on the next day after the Pact Chamberlain-Daladier-Mussolini-Hitler in Munich on September 29, 1938. Germany and Poland occupied and annexed territories of the Czechoslovakia. The sly Poles intended to attack Russia with Germany. But the Germans did not need the brave Polish army.

Poland is the bravest country in Europe. You had your deal of mistakes and you weren't always the good guys, but don't ever let Russians make fools of you again.
Croatia is in many ways similar to Poland. Unfortunately, we were on the wrong side in WW2 and payed that with many lives and a 80 years long stigma of a genocidal nation. Stigma given to us by people who are no better.

Catherine the Great took not a single inch from Poland that was not native Russian soil and on that Russian people were not in majority. Pilsudski wanted to occupy and possess Kiev and Smolensk again with the help of Hitler. The Poles were so naive!

I would put Poland at the mercy of Prussia and Austria in 1815, and now Russia would have no headache with the Poles. I am very glad that Poland belongs to the Euro zone at last, that EU has headache with that arrogant and conceited Poland.

In Polish collective memory the idea of a great Polish-Lithuanian commonwealth lived for so long, but their power was drained in constant conflict for sovereignty. Most of the time that conflict was against both Russia and Germany at the same time.

1. In 1918 Russia was in flame of anti-Russian revolution. Poland occupied and annexed western Russian territories that were larger than Poland itself!
2. Poland did not need a treaty with Russia against Germany, and intended to take part in aggression with Germany against Russia.
3. In 1938 Poland did not permit the Russian army to pass the Polish territory in order to defend the Czech Republic against Germany.

Russia armed, equipped and supplied the interned Poles for fighting. They also could work for money in Russia. But the most of them wanted neither to work nor to fight. They preferred to be a burden to Russian people which fought against Germans. Then the Poles decided to go to Iran.

This movie portrays the common Russian soldier as an imperialistic, drunk and filthy person when in reality he is the saviour of mankind. Also, it's really pathetic trying to justify this movie by another one. 1612 film portrays the Poles as the common enemy, not as savages and radicals like here.

The Problem is that Russian weren't enamy. NKVD was it. In Moscow 1610-12 were privet (mercenary) units. In 1939-40 It was official USSR units.
Poland is a small countru so let us to live alone. You have gold, oil diamonds etc. Why do you need Poland? Mayby it's a question of honour for Russians.

Thanks for your interesting discussion. I also read Le Monde's perfidious commentary on "Katyn". Le Monde is always perfidious, whatever the topic. Entire books have been written in France to expose Le Monde's bias & disinformation methods, particularly after it supported the Red Khmers in Cambodia in 1975. One should read this newspaper with much caution (people from ex-communist countries have learned to read between lines, I think !)

They were much more than 10, since every graduated of the university had to serve in the army, and 1/3 of the doctors and lawyers in Warsaw were Jews, they did serve in the Polish Army many changed their last name to sound Polish too. So I went to school in 3 countries. And I do speak 4 languages so what- I also know to read.

Surnames can be different indeed, but Jews never adopted Christian names like Stanislaw or Jan,etc. and almost always used their native Jewish names like David, Aaron, etc. Look up for them, look up...

Yes you are right I got to D and I had found hundreds of Jewish first and last names (Broda- (beard) Nachman most of the ending in ivch and more. Also all the names like Sygmunt, Jozef, Jakub, Aron Michal, Oskar, Tomas, Andrej Marian, Symon and Adam can be as much Jewish as Polish. I know Jews from Poland with those names. Its really not important I read once that more than thousand were Jewish and not ten.

Another moron-this movie recently got negative review by the French Media-La Monde newspaper, who unfortunately is not Jewish owned, France is and never was friendly towards the Jews had citied the movie-the reason is that not all the officer were Roman Catholics, they were many Jews (lawyers, doctors, teachers) as well-I am not communist- I was never one. In fact, for some 24,000 Poles murdered in Katyn, Charkow and yet another place still unknown, there were only TENS of Jews. In Katyn, only officers were murdered and no more than 10 of them were Jews. Did you go to school? I believe you didn't. When Poles tried to place the cross of Christ in Auschwitz, where countless thousands of those murdered were Catholics, Jewish organizations from America and Israel just gone mad and called Polish authorities for immediate removing of the cross, as if it was only Jews who were murdered there.
