  • I really think you should do the song what do you say by Reba McEntire! its a great song and would be really interseting

  • Reba is such an amazing singer :)

  • I STILL cry when I hear this song. Absolutely heartbreaking, but so inspirational and determined...

  • My name is Fancy.. 100% serious..

    I love this song, too.

  • Anyone heard the original?

  • I love this song!!thanks for the video :D

  • Bobbie Gentry wrote and sang it in 1969

  • This is the best song about prostitution. Love this song!! :)

  • :I might have been born plain white trash, but Fancy was my name"

    Best. Line. Ever.♥

  • i love her songs and her show.

  • Just to let you know ppl that are saying that this is song is about a whore/tramp. It's not about that. It's about having something better than having nothing at all. If I knew that my husband ran off and I was going to die soon, I would send my oldest child away also so that she could have a better life. So when she does she won't be a whore/tramp.

  • i sing it wen i watch the show

my mom looks at me funny.

  • francy drake

  • The only country singer I can listen to <3

  • 2011 ? and 484,138, <---- thumbs ^^^ if that shuld be higher?

  • this song is about my life....

  • I used to think she was going with the guy to become a singer and actress and all... Wow I feel ignorant. And it's sad that that does happen then and now

  • @SylvverInWonderland Don't feel bad, that is what I thought it was about too. I do believe my mother ecouraged that understanding if I remember correctly.

  • When I was younger, I thought this song was about a girl going to get some milk for the baby... O_o

  • @JanieisADBBDBA thats awesome...

  • @iGotTheGift Hell yeah it is.

  • awesome!!

  • My mom sounds like this. Expect she isn't sick or dead and I am the youngest in my family! :) and this song is the best ever! :) I loved this song and I hope that, if I ever have to be like this then my daughter or mother whatever the case will listen to this and think of me, many of my friends think this song reminds them of me!!!! Is that a good thing? haha

  • @TheMissjb4eva your mom sold you to a man to be a prostitute?

  • i listen to black veil brides, my chemical romance, panic! at the disco, and fall out boy. you call me emo? well, I FREAKING LOVE REBA! and kenny chesney, brooks and dunn, sugarland, little big town, and garth brooks. stuff that in your juice box and suck it! ha!

  • Plz do im SEXY AND I NO IT !!!

  • love the message...don't try in life... just prostitute yourself to get that mansion! yeeehaw!

  • @Courtabaltaney Spoken like someone who doesn't know fuck all about poverty and hard times.

  • @Courtabaltaney that's not even it. her mom knew her daughter would someday get away from that and she did. she became a lady, and she got everything she ever wanted.

  • I'd totally bang Fancy.

  • @chadvipe2 u nasty i mean its a good song but u r so nasty how bout you bang yourself

  • UM FIRST HOW OLD ARE YOU

  • god i love reba

  • i luv reba!!

  • REBA IS AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!

  • all you blind bastards that can't see best the the idea of a hooker need to get off here and go back to your perfect worlds

  • CLASSY LADY WITH A GREAT SONG!!!!

  • Nice. Another song that tells women that they have to spread their legs in order to get anywhere in life.

  • @FuzzBean84 u missed the point.....

  • @omega311888 Have you heard the song? That IS the point. "Fancy" talks about how she got where she is because she became a hooker. Real nice role-model.

  • @FuzzBean84 if you don't like the song why were you listening to it? what's the point of coming on here? to comment and say you don't like it? geez. chill your sack. xP

  • @ToniaMaurer Its not that I don't like the song. Reba can jam with the best of 'em. I just don't particularly care for the message it sends.

  • @FuzzBean84

The song is just telling the story. It's supposed to shock the listener and say, "Wow, that's sad that she could only get that far from prostitution." Reba's not endorsing prostitution, just giving a hooker's view on her line of work.

  • @SaveMePlease985 yes, and this isn't even reba's song. it's a cover of Bobbie Gentry's song Fancy.

  • @ambernichole8611

I actually did not know that! =P

  • @FuzzBean84 this song is nice if you dont got some thing to say good about reba dont say it at all

  • Reba FTW!

  • @HuggleVampSamx3 Why? This is about a whore/tramp. Just saying..

  • @zebralover951

No, this song is about doing what you can to improve your life. Then making something out of it in the end but never forgetting where you come from.

  • @HuggleVampSamx3

  • @sukienimbis its the girls name

  • @xlovetodaymikax k just makin sure thanx

  • @sukienimbis i think fancy is her name because in the music vid a cab driver keeps causing fancy

  • Reba is such a country legend...I dont think to many woman hold a candle to Reba!

  • @me93610 no one can hold a candle to Reba she's the best

  • @me93610 dolly parton

  • @me93610 No One Does A Better Cover Of Dolly's Song. :)

  • @me93610 yeah, must be nice having people write hit songs for you lol

  • my mom was gonna name me Fancy..

  • @Jasyynda7 Well Fancy that.... sorry I had to.

  • It's definitely "ain't been back" not "ain't done bad." It's two clear "B" sounds in the last two words.

Regardless, I can't believe some thought this song was about something other than prostitution... It's a Southern Gothic song about a girl from a poverty-stricken family that is thrusted into city as a prostitute because her mother believed it was her only way out. The song makes it clear throughout that the mother has very mixed feelings about doing this to her daughter.

  • Gonna see her in September!!!

  • whats weird is that people think reba is a beep and they talk beep about her. well beep you. you never bleepin herd reba so beep you

  • do a song a lyrics for the happy days song

  • Only Reba could sing this and actually keep it appropriate.

  • 16 people thought dislike said dis i like commet if you get it

  • 16 people thought dislike said dis i like commet if you get

  • 16 people hit the dislike button on accident because Reba is so Fancy they were in shock and hit it by accident. I love Reba Nell McEntire and Her husband Narvel Blackstock and I also love Dolly Rebecca Parton and her husband Carl Dean.

  • can u do a perfectly good heart by taylor swift pls?

  • I think it's ..."aint done bad". Good job, though.

  • i love Reba soooooo Much. She can wear just a m=nice pair of jeans and a tank top and still look so beautiful. wish i could look like her.

  • @QueenRae96 mee too lol..im not sayin im ugky because im not but if i could not wear makeup and bumm it out and still look good tht would be AHHHMAZING!!

  • i like 3:36

  • so wtf her mom dies and they take her brother or sister

? who was the baby? does she ever see her again?

  • @jbx7777 The baby is her little brother or sister. They have no money for food or anything so the people from welfare took it and put it in foster care. She probably never sees it again

  • Such a talented artist! Classic.

  • Usually I don't like county music but this song and Reba are great!

  • "Fancy" is a song written and originally performed by Bobbie Gentry in 1969. The song depicts its heroine's overcoming poverty to become a successful courtesan. the term courtesan has become a euphemism to designate an escort or a prostitute, especially one who attracts wealthy clients.

  • @relewis7

  • @relewis7 Wow. I didn't know that. Thank you for that piece of information. I knew it didn't happen to Reba, herself, but I had no idea someone had done that song prior to her. I'm going to look up Bobbie Gentry and listen to his version. Thanks again. And also, I never heard the word "courtesan" in my life. So, I just added a new word to my vocabulary.

  • OMFG!!! I LUV THIS SONG!

  • i absolutly love this song!..Reba is such a great singer and this song fits her personality very well!!

  • This song is so true. You are only white trash if you want to be. Try hard enough and you can rise above.

  • "I ain't been back" is actually, "I ain't done bad", (she aint done bad)

Besides that common error, great job! Sound quality and everything. Thank you!!!

  • do i should i have been a cowboy

  • This song made me give country music a chance. Glad I did.

  • 15 people dont know what talent is

  • how do u do lyric videos

  • My friend has a doll named Fancy...she's been through a lot.

  • The Night the Lights Went out in Georgia by Reba McEntire

  • no her mother was telling her to be a woman and get married you idiots ! no to prostitute but dont lay up with a nothing ass niqqa that has nothing .

  • @sjawna watch your mouth

  • @sjawna no she wasn't she dressed her like a whore then told her to be nice to the gentlemen. She was telling her this may be the only way she can get out of poverty.

  • @sjawna THE SONG IS ABOUT PROSTITUTION IF U CAN'T HEAR THAT THEN U ARE DUMB AND DEAF..HOW CAN U EVEN SAY ITS ABOUT HER GETTING MARRIED AND SHE DIDN'T EVEN GET MARRIED IN THE SONG...

  • @true6lue

To the uninspired ear perhaps this sounds simply like a song about prostitution, but I think not.

To me its much more about how a destitute and poverty stricken mother sees an inspired opportunity for a daughter to capture a better life.

  • @TalismanTImes either way i luv the song..any of them fancy's or want to be fancy's lets make this happen..alot of money to get and time ain't waiting..

  • @true6lue it is more than prostitution. it is about being on hard ship and rising above it. loosing her mother and baby sister. mom did what she thought was best. she was not angry at her mom. she thought if she did not go though the hard times she did she would not know how to succeed and make it

  • She was not a "prostitution" 2 me...It's more like a song about making it with what you have. Example : People "prostitute themselves everyday"...the Judge who looks the other way, when he and the Defence atty...a friend...says "if this case goes well, the wife and kids are going to out time share in Hawaii...oh youve never been,go and have 2 weeks on "us"...To the Managed Care CEO's who say that this saves money-but her salary is 8 Million a year... Fancy had to "use what she had"

  • gernade bruno mars

  • strange Reba McEntire

  • ome, the vid 4 this gave me chills

  • love this song

  • this song makes me cry every time!! great job with the video.

  • this song has amazing imagery. it's wonderful! in the sense f something horrible happening of course. nice job Reba!

  • i saw her in cosert and she sang this she had the taxi and the red dess

  • a powerful song

  • my aunt is identical lookalike of Reba. when she comes to Tennessee to see me, we go to Cracker Barrel and the manager asked for her autograph. lol

  • your an awsome singger! you rock! i love your hair

  • I love her voise!!! :DDDDD

  • such an amazing song!

  • When I was little I remember loving this song, not knowing what it was about. I went around 9 years without ever hearing it and it got stuck in my head somehow so I looked it up here, and realised it was about prostitution :o (I used to think she had to look pretty to marry rich or something) I still love it :)

  • i know what my mamma be talking about

but im still nlooking for mr right and wealthy

  • It's not about prostitution, Just so ya know.

  • @TheNFamy

Well then... What is the song about? Just so we'll know.

Seriously, the circumstance is what makes the song powerful. She's not singing about joining the circus.

  • @TheNFamy your right, prostitutes are "cheap" this song is about them high dollar callgirls that get paid about 5,000 an hour!
