Why is it the punk national anthem? Because it's easy to play and catchy. Also, has been around for a long time. If all the punk bands decided to cover Casualtie's Get Off My Back, no one knows the Casualties. Ramones are the biggest punk band in the world man.

I realize it's been around for some time but so have the Sex Pistols, Sham 69, Joan Jett, and Iggy Pop. People know the Casualties, however many people hate thm because "they sold out" and signed to sideonedummy in order to be able to do more tours for the fans. The Clash never started Punk, Punk started off in America with bands like The Ramones and New York Dolls, over here it was The Damned who released the first UK Punk single, ever! Before anyone else, then bands like the Sex Pistols and The Clash kicked off from there.

Other than that, Lars Frederiksen is a great guy and this is a great band and like someone else said Tim Armstrong and Lars were friends of the Ramones, so I think it's not a crime that this band is covering the song.... it would be much worse seeing someone like Avril Lavigne or something cover a Ramones song, that would be just....sickening wrong!!
