As much as I love The Nanny, the relationship between the two has a lot of underlying misogyny and sexism, and communicates the "okay" for objectifying women. I'm not saying Fran as a character is at fault here: she should be able to dress and act however she likes. But the characters' reactions to her are very much misogynystic.

They have wonderful chemistry and I adore the two together but the reactions other characters have to her and sometimes the actions taken within their relationship are often rather hard to get through for these very reasons of sexism and misogyny. Rarely do fans who love a show point out its flaws and seeing it done so eloquently and politely is wonderful.
