OMG! So, I spent the first 19 years of life in Jersey. Part of me remembers it as personal HELL and some of me is all nostalgic. Personally, I LOVE this song cause it reminds me of 90% of my family and their friends from back in the day and yes this person was very 80's cause Jersey IS very 80's. It's basically Bergen and Hudson County (the ones closest to NYC) that really are like this and like the crap you see on Jersey Shore. And yeah, a lot of us "tawk" like that. LOL!

But from what I've been told by out of state relatives is that a 'Jersey accent' has to do with T's and A's like 'idlanic cidy' (atlantic city) 'idlana' (atlanta) and 'trennin' (trenton).

Most of this is correct but we love the city and the accent is right but however, not everyone from jersey talks in that accent, they only talk like in jersey city mostly.
