@gatechgnome It appears to be an old Moments on Ice feature that teh NHL Network airs during commercial breaks. I havent seen this one yet so It is probably a couple years old
he's one of many 90s players i miss in the league.
its just not the same as it was a few years ago, all the imports in the 90s made it just that little bit more interesting, now it seems ovechkin is the only russian to have a profound effect on the league in its current defensive based form. i mean whens the next time we're going to hear of a player notching 76 goals in a season. fingers crossed stamkos!
Despite the duo, Buffalo barely finished over .500 but proved that was misleading by sweeping Boston. Of course everyone says injuries prevented them from beating Montreal but Mogilny and Lafontaine were both there for losses in games 1 and 2 while Mogilny got hurt during game 3 and Lafontaine didn't dress for game 4. Ultimately, the Habs were still the deserving winner but needed 3 straight OT wins so the series might've gone 5 or 6 if not for the misfortune. Still, Roy was too unstoppable.
Geez, I did not even know about this duo. You always hear about Wayne and jarri and Hull and Oats, but never these two. Mogilny has 76 goals in 77 games that season for christs sakes! Íts too bad Pat had some bad head injuries. Where is this video from anyway?
I remember mogilyny and lafontaine especially in 1993. If you remember the playoffs when sabres swept the bruins and then lost to the canadiens the next round. If mogilny lafontaine and fuhr were all healthy that series i honeslty believe they would of beaten montreal and won the cup that year. They had a good team that year!
Where did you get this video? I wish there were better Sabres documentaries out there.
