would people stop adding guitars to traditional music? guitars are relatively new instruments, and though tradtional, ancient music may be boring compared to today's music, adding a guitar only kills the tradition. so what if the music is boring to us modern listeners? it's history. we don't add motors to horse wagons from the 1800s to make them faster... and brides still wear white...
I think the reason that so much traditional music is being transcribed for classical guitar these days, is simply because guitarists think it's fun to play!
I really don't think that the majority of transcribers are not trying to make a statement that the original instrument sounds boring to the modern listener, and would be spiced up with a guitar sound. I enjoy listening to performances with the original instruments as well. But I don't think I'm breaking a taboo by performing it on guitar
@FWDuo I think you both sound fantastic. Who can say for sure that if the composer of this piece was alive today, he wouldn't enjoy hearing it played on guitar? :)
i would like to have the music sheet of this song..could you send me or tell me where did you found it? i would like to play it in a presentation about renaissance music..thanks!
