@TheHighPandaBear the same thing that happened to all of speilbergs creations, WB tried to control and cheapen his creations, this pissed the staff that where doing all of his creations off, and they left warner bros. and some suspect with the rights, and hes still pissed off at wb. this wasnt as fortunate as his other creations and in ppls eyes its still in the cancellation bin. (pinky and the brain is the only surviving series and thats ironic considering its sequel is what pissed him off)

As much as we 90's kids like to preach about how much better our cartoons and shows were than the stuff on TV now, little kids are going to be thinking the same thing about the cartoons when they're all our ages. So, in a way it is a circle of time (or something like that.) My brother is 10 years older than me and when I was little he always said that cartoons were better in the 80's when he was a kid.

@gaudyjewlreydiamond You raise a good point. Every decade thinks that it had the best cartoons. Truth is, every decade has some good ones and a LOT of awful ones. But I would argue that very best 90s cartoons (like Tiny Toons, Animaniacs, Batman TAS etc) were really some of the best simply due to the talent behind them. The creators weren't focused on trying to be "in", they were trying to make something great. And they did.

@gaudyjewlreydiamond That's actually a good point, there were awful cartoons that were forgotten or dressed up by the nostalgia filter. I'm both an 80s and 90s kid (born 1985) so I can remember some crappy cartoons, like the Get Along Gang in the 80s and I never cared for Barney all that much, even in the early 90s. But I think most awful 90s cartoons were concentrated in the second half of the decade. While there are some good cartoons today, the proportion of bad to good greatly shifted IMO.

It's just the only American cartoon that's been on the air for so long. But maybe Pokemon doesn't count in this instance, since they're always adding new stuff to each season (or at least taking the old and dressing it up to pretend it's brand-new).
