  • Love this. I can't pinpoint why though. Maybe it's just the contrast to the original song, maybe it's her voice... I don't know. I just like it.

  • that last 30 secs of the song make me belief in fairy tales

  • I'd rather watch Complete than this.

  • oh, ironman

  • Good cover

  • :)

  • WTF i didnt know this existed and i like cardigans

  • I think this song is really good i like it :D

  • GREAT COVER

  • hahaha bringin back the times!

  • which genre is this song? is it some bossa nova?

  • @TheSpiderpkz Nooooo, it's just The Cardigan's take on Alternative Rock.

  • iron man is an awesome song by the black fucking sabbath, and maybe they're the only ones who can make it as good as it is.

  • So far 83 people don't have a sense of humor.

  • @dbl1 Make that 84.

  • Kinda trippy, but very awesome.

  • getting turned on by the: OOOOh IRON MAN

  • I can't believe I like this as much as I do.

If the Iron Man movie were directed by an artsy director, this song would have been in the credits.

  • @HatOfWisdom you're a fucking clown

  • to have sex... after listen the original having sex...

  • sometimes music has so much soul...

  • I'm not sure how this can work, but it does.

  • Haven't heard this song since it came out - I like Black Sabbath and also like this version. When this version came out I merged parts of it and parts of Black Sabbath's version on some crummy old cassette equipment - I need to have my son show me how to do that with computer software and make a new mix.

  • @Jack74492 I'd really like to hear that....

  • i sing this song on the school times...good times...

    1984

  • Wow. Just bizarre. But not in a good way or a bad way. I have no feelings for or against this version because I'm still having trouble simply comprehending it.

  • where am i?

  • Ela tá morrendo e cantando...

  • I-ron man...

  • to me, the end of this (3:37 and on) is somewhat pornographic and I approve.

  • i would make love to this version ;)

  • oooohhh so delicious :)

  • ohhh iron mann

  • Well shit on a dick! This is amazing!

  • Is it just me, or did I hear this version in the first trailer for the first Iron Man movie?

  • better than the original, to be honest ...

  • I'm a metalhead and approve this version.

  • @304473108 You don't have to clarify that you're a metalhead. Most people usually listen to a lot of different types of music

  • @304473108 I NKOW RIGHT?! Man I had NEVER listened to stuff like this, I thought it was for pussies, then, I heard this. BE-A-UTIFUL. My opinion, this HAS to be the best cover out there. Mainly just because of her voice, and the difference. They sound so original.

  • @304473108 thank you dude for appreciating it.

  • o_O weird, but great xD

  • @giarc123 ozzy is a disgrace to metal for appearing in some irritating family reality tv show too.

  • so beautiful :)

  • Visions of my honeymoon come to mind... :3

  • I find too many people get stuck on the way the song originally sounded, and discounts any other attempt at it. I find that hearing different and eccletic versions of a song can actually make you appriciate both versions, if done right. Metalheads are not going to give this a chance (for the most part), but others might see what they couldn't get past before, and give the original another chance, with a different light. I really think this is a great cover of a great song. No more, no less!

  • @HuskerDu2 mmhm i agree with you. 8)

  • has he lost his mind?? ("come on and love me...")

  • I have to say I haven't heard a better cover to "Iron Man". There are some, but they are basically the same metal sound. This one is eerily calming, and yet still has a dark undertone to it.

  • version gay de iron man xD...naa buen cover (y)

  • best. cover. ever.

  • sounds like elevator music

  • Great cover, but I want to see the sexy lil thing singing it.......

  • i like the bass

  • I think this is actually a darker version than the original. It is quite desolate, like the soundtrack for a character walking through the desert or some other such wasteland. I love this, and I'm quite the metalhead.

  • @SwietowitMeowsAnew If you seriously think this is darker than the original version, you should consider stop listening to metal music, bro.

It's a bit more jazzy and tasty, but definitely not darker.

  • @cannabisabuser This version reminds me of a David Lynch movie, whereas the original reminds me of headbanging and smoking. Not that this is better than the original, just that there is no accounting for musical opinion, "bro".

  • @SwietowitMeowsAnew I don't think you know how a David Lynch movie looks like...

  • its weird how they made this song about a fallen hero into somekind of a love song about a stubborn friend .... and i like it XD

  • well,interesting...not exactly the wave of metal fans but they were original enough to shape the song to sound how they wanted.i could thrash talk about it for hours just because im a metal fan but this is pretty good of an interpretation and waaay better than manson's

  • I wonder who she's refering to. Some guy she's never met?

  • the story of my life.....

  • terrible

  • I kinda like this version. I'm a guy and I find this cover song to be sexy, I like the way Nina sings "Ironman on the end".

  • I want to make love to this song.

  • wow... those times ozzy sound so sexy

  • @JuglarEuskaldun hahahaha dude........ I´m agree man

  • Definitely, the sexier version of the song. :)

  • I'm not sure what to make of this... I think I like it though..! xD

  • It's not better, nor worse. It's different. And I'm a Sabbath-fan.

  • @97036 agreed I like both versions!!!!

  • i just get lost in it, forget im listening to it cuz its so soothing and lulling

  • Nice!!! it´s their personal way of feel the song... it´s not better as the original... Agree with Brethren: enjoyable to listen...

  • amazin good cover :) makes me so happy :)

  • I don't understand all the guys that don't like this cover. Nina has such a sexy voice. They must all be gay.....

  • @brobot98 I'm a fully straight man, but I think this is just weird. First of all, I don't look to music for a turn-on. Secondly, this voice paints a picture in my mind of a 60-something woman with histrionic personality disorder who wears too much make-up. So, basically, my aunt. That's not sexy at all.

  • this song came on the radio today its a good cover and MRraider you need to calm down there is no way Nina Persson is gonna read your mean comment XD

  • This is a good examle of a cover. More often than not staying true to the original is more irritating because you cant do it as well but to put this slant on something completley out of the blue like this deserves applause. And for gods sake its not an ozzy osbourne song its black sabbath.

  • eh, their covers dont really get my applause,

  • @MRraider1992 dont get so mad

  • @lolgurlyyy he's 18.. you shouldve expected that. bahaha. let him be.

  • @Skylinebeach lol...

  • Comment removed

  • @MRraider1992 yawns

  • Why they didn't use this in the Ironman movies will always be beyond me. D:

  • @HarlemLoveSong they did. end of the first film.

  • The covers of Black Sabbath that the Cardigans made sound nothing like the other songs, this must be the most diverse song on First Band On The Moon, as well as Sabbath Bloody Sabbath is the most diverse song on Emmerdale

  • personally I think Ozzy would be rolling over in his grave hearing this!!! Oh wait, he's not dead yet! Or is he???

  • @doubleder he's alive :P

  • @doubleder Well, Ozzy Osbourne was so impressed with The Cardigans cover of Black Sabbath songs he even said it in print.

  • dreamy, sexy...

  • Hey.... this doesn't sound that bad... it's actually pretty good, nothing close to the original but at least they tried to give it their style... nicely done

  • if u think a cover has to be in the same style as the original to appease the fans of the orignal, youre stupid. you ever think that maybe it wasn't created to appease some mongoloid heavy metal nut? just maybe it was written for fans of the cardigans!?

  • The tune is nothing like Iron Man, if you're gonna do a cover, copy all of it, not just the lyrics.

  • @DaveRelph001 You're pointless and absolutely misunderstanding the artistic value of making a cover

  • respect to the effort, and to those of you who like this version, but to me this is an abomination of one of the heaviest songs ever written.

  • @porkolicious Trust me when I tell you Iknow the feeling.

But come on dude soften up a bit !

    It is really nice.

  • I love the way the reversed xylophone-chord sound (whatever, exactly, it is) appears and crescendos in the right channel, and then snaps over to the left channel when it plays forwards. That awesome psychedelic surround-sound-ness reminds me of a Black Sabbath song from 'Paranoid', but I can't quite remember which one...

But here I am admiring the cool stereophonic qualities of this track like the audiophilic geek I am. Regardless, this is a great cover of a great song.

  • they def. made this song their own lol

  • This and Mr. Crowley are waaay better than the originals. This coming from a life long metal head.

  • I like this more then the ozzy version of it :P

  • They have castrated the song...i has completely lost its heavyness. On the other side it completely fits the title of the album, I would call it the Iron Man on the Moon. If I don't compare it to the original, it's pretty cool, but the original is the perfect one with this lyrics.

  • Woah this is a really cool interpretation of the song

  • it's a good cover .

  • RIP Iron Man :'(

  • so fancy cover!!!!!!

  • its like iron man but for hippies!!

  • Ok, this is just plain weird. I mean, it's the same song, but...

God I love it. I think this is sung by Iron Man's groupie

  • Horrible!!!

They just destroyed the Awesome song...

  • @KrissTheSavage

men i preffer to listen iron in origginal sabbath but its cool to hear it diferently

    the cover is bad ass

  • I think that Ozzy should sing smth like "You are the Storm" or "Loosing a Friend" or "My Favourite Game" somehow and sometimes.

Nina likes him too much (and, saying, at all the early albums!) - why not to tribute Nina? ;-))

  • Nina is always tasty.

  • i love this version more than the real one.

  • extrem coole scheisse. love it.

  • i like the guitars between the verses, but thr rythm doesn't make me want to destruy things, this is more like a lounge version

  • why did they destroy this song i hate when someone try to turn rock or metal song in pop shit this cover sucks

  • @1222LesPaul You do realize that before they were in the Cardigans, a few members of the band did Death Metal right?

  • @writinguy At least I do know nothing about it, tell me/us more pls - point the URLs and like that.

  • @dreadbit From Allmusic: Even the band's origins showed that their later appearance was quite misleading; two heavy metal fanatics formed the group in October 1992 in Jonkoping, Sweden. Guitarist Peter Svensson met bassist Magnus Sveningsson in a hardcore group, though he had previously trained in music theory and jazz arranging. The two later grew tired of metal and decided to form a pop band with vocalist Nina Persson --

  • I don't think a cover should be a matter of sticking to the original version or switching to this. Is just another view of the song, another way to appreciate it. This is something the Cardigans achieved with this song. I don't like it when the song is cevered the same as the original, can't see the point on doing so.

  • I love this version, but my 9 year old son hates it and loves the original. Wonder who has better taste?

  • @halfgaf ur son, lol!! i like this one more, but it all depends on the mood

  • im a hardcore ozzy fan and i found this. this really relaxes me :D good song great band.

  • DAMN THE CARDIGANS IS AND WILL ALWAYS BE THE SHIT

  • This is great and nina is so beautiful... Thanks.

  • ...too much calm.

  • Anyone who doesn't like this cover just because it is in a different style than the original is obviously an insecure poseur who thinks that simply listening to and appreciating other genres of music is not "true metal".

Well, music is about trying new things and being original and true to yourself. My point is: enjoy music and don't feel limited to just one genre.

If you disagree with me, you're a fuckhead.

  • @slash5754

Well, I love a whole host of music..and this version is shit... and no, I'm not comparing it to the original (not too keen on that one either) However, this version has no life to it whatsoever.

Her voice fits the song, lyrically - the way she sings it has a nice odd feel to it, but it could've done with a nice EBM, Electro-breakbeat or Industrial Electro sound to it musically, as opposed to this poser-blues sound.

  • This is bizarre. Not awful, but weird in a way that still doesn't make it great. I think I will stick with the Sabbath version.

  • not bad at all...good cover ! her voice is pure PEACE !

  • i luv this song so trippy!

  • Hahaha... great! Didn't expect that!!!

  • LMFAO!!!

  • Oooh, ironn mann~~ HOT DAMN. Schmexayy~

  • I think i have a way to get people to understand that covers of songs by bands putting their own twist on the song is a form of appreciation. I'll make a petition for the jonas brothers to cover every godly song every made .. then people will have something to bitch about.

  • They bastardized tis

  • Not what I expected. But nice.

  • I think anyone who has the propensity to tell strangers which version, Sabbath or Cardigans, they think is better should go take a flying fuck at a rolling donut. 99.999 percent of the people after hearing this song would have heard both and can tell for themselves which they think is better.

  • Nina Persson has a very sexy voice

  • pretty good.

  • 3 ways to make a cover-version : equal - better - worse. This version is WORSE!

  • why, bc it isnt metal? could there be more than 3 ways to make a cover?

  • @xxxIzekeIxxx there are only 3 ways - as good, better, worse - take it or leave it!

  • wow, this bitch raped my favourite song.

  • wow this is easily 100x better.

  • I reckon that the whole point of the cover is precisely to create the wrong atmosphere. It's unconventional in the way that it's less of a tribute than an inside joke, one of those covers you have to be familiar with the original to "get" properly.

"Iron Man" is a spooky song with dark ambience and perversely morbid undertones, so what the Cardigans were doing here is basically the sonic equivalent of grabbing Sabbath's monster and dress him in pink frilly dress. They're in it for the irony.

  • The only point of a cover is to perform some kind of artistic reinterpretation - but the extremely radical transformations are not always enjoyable in their own right. I happen to think this version is an awesome slant on the song (as the Cardigans' music used to be on the entire heavy metal genre) and stands alone without needing the comparison to be appreciated. Whether you ultimately prefer the original or not (personally I don't), this cover is not "wrecking" the song.

  • i say the atmosphere is to calm, great vocals i thought the vocals were beautiful, here is my interperation: he traveled to the future and saw unfortold chaos, and when he went back to the past he got caught in a magnetic field, was made into iron(steel) enabling him mute in the process. so when he tried to warn the people, they ignored him, so this enraged him and he brought the carnage he saw during his time travel

  • WTF IS THIS SHIT?

  • Isn't the point of a cover to do something different with it?

  • @toomanyscars

No; The point is to do something good with it.

  • Of course the original is great..everyone knows that...but their version is Damn Sexy! Nina's voice is so sweet...

  • CRAP!

  • Much as I love the original, this is one hell of a great cover.

  • Haha I like it . . . kinda trippy

  • WOW..... covering a legendary classic rock song, but eventhough Nina gave it mad sex appeal within the song. Like remaking a movie........I love the Original, but even like this version too. No complaints from me :)

  • agree with that. the music totally fails to create an appropriate atmosphere for the lyrics. it's just...plain wrong.

  • I think it depends on your interpretation of the lyrics, coming from a woman's perspective I think this makes perfect sense and is damn sexy

  • Interesting take on the original,

    I like it,

Ninas soft, smokey voice is quite sexy.

  • Yup....I love me some cardigans. Esp. this song...it's the only version where I can understand the lyrics!

  • No sacrilege intended, I like the Cardigan's version waaay better. It's just more... me! Besides, Nina is way cuter than Mr. Osborne.

  • me too!

  • wha ... wha ... what the hell?

sharon, i'm stuck on the weather channel!!

  • :-)

  • oohhh Ironman, Nina just oozes sexiness

  • she sings this pretty sexy

  • enjoyable. I like alot...

  • pretty cool not as good as the original but still enjoyable to listen too.

  • totally respected opinions, but this is a rape-original-song

  • I like their covers of sabbath. she's hot. she can sing whatever she wants

  • shit man these guys have a great vibe. great covers
