  • I love it -3!!

  • I can't do it :(

  • hi sorry fault with something the square? hope and help me please

  • exelente video is great ¡¡¡¡ i like so much¡¡

  • i can make it out of one pice of paper

  • Waaa.... easy~

  • omg the box is so easy. : o

  • Thank u!!! I agree it does look easier than it is

  • hola tu video esta muy padre pero solo hay un problema no entiendo como unir las partes y cuando las trato de unir se me desacen o se me rompen espero que me puedas explicar como unirlas para que me salga esta caja.

    grax

  • Will 10x10 centimeter paper work?¿?

  • @Craftmaster456

I think that should work too :) But it will probably be a bit harder to fold. Keep in mind that if you use a different size for the cubes, you'll need to adjust the box size too. :) Good luck x happy folding!

  • almost got it and YESSS thanks fl4k3z0r. it really helped :]

  • @AdamsSara is it okay that i use smaller paper??? (maybe about 5 centimeters?)

  • if i use just 12 sheets of paper is ok ?

  • I didn't even use glue for the cubes.

  • I don't use glue unless it's absolutely necessary like putting the cubes into the box.

(Oh and one more thing. Not to be a hater of your videos, but using glue and tape is not origami.)

  • but i like the paper

  • this is a stupid origami thing i got lost in where you put the half of the origami boxesw

  • i cant do that at 12:38

  • dont have to use glue and many papers (really even if u use 1 paper only 1color it will be more better...well yeah origami is the look at the end but it is still the hard work) u just need 7 x N of the long u like then fold to squares (7 x N) make it like mny box long ( the extra 3 is for the lock...fold mountain and valley fold at one edge [we still have 1] the one will be fold at the another edge put it in the midle of the to edge we just fold..... twist it then the 2 edge at both end V fold

  • can you do it half the size? I don't want to waste paper

  • wow. its just like my origami cube tower but longer and modular! :D

  • mine is a sort of fold-able diamond? cant see what i did wrong..

  • @fl4k3z0r

would it be possible to alternate the direction of the boxes so you would not have to twist when expanding and collapsing?

  • cant we make more or less squares

  • @vinvin9501

You can use any amount of squares (boxes) you like.

  • @fl4k3z0r wow as many like 100 and where did you get the origami paper i look everywhere for stores

  • I got most of my paper at kimscrane :)

It's one of the biggest webshops for origami.

  • @rebbyjenny I always go to Micheals for my paper

  • origami or cm paper where did you get it

  • Are all the creases you've shown right???? It seems to me there aren't enough of them to fold all the figure =\

  • @peenleib

Yes, I've used the diagram from start to finish to make this tutorial.

I even used my own tutorial to remake this box.

And every crease shown is right :)

  • i can only get the right

  • this is too much work. can you send me one?

  • not hard! just long -_-

  • That's true :D It's long, and it takes a while to make it.

But I think this model is totally worth it. It's really unique.

  • @fl4k3z0r hey, did you use a 15*15cm in the vid? or bigger

  • This is what I used :)

    For the cubes

    24x 6x6 inch or 15x15 cm squares : 12 colours, 2 of each colour.

    For the box

    1x 6,25x6,25 inch or 16x16 cm square

    1x 6,5 x 6,5 inch or 16,5x16,5 cm square

  • @fl4k3z0r what if I use 20*20 , too big?

  • That should work too.

Just make sure you also make the box bigger!

    Good luck ;)

  • @fl4k3z0r I can't the left and right units together, can you please explain ?

  • I know it's hard to see , because the video is a bit off center on that part. I hope I can explain this ...It's actually easier than it looks.

When putting the units together, put the flaps over each other like in the video . What you have to do next is 'Twist' the units inside each other. The right corner inside the left corner. (If you use thicker paper, it will collapse naturally.) Make sure your creases are very 'sharp'! If that doesn't help, try this video: v=Kle4CghXgP0 :)

  • yes!!!!!! i did one part finally!!!! thank you higher quality videos!!!

  • Yay :D I'm very happy that I could help you!

  • *Tip* If you don't want to use a different size paper, all you have to do to make the lid is when at 2:07, don't fold to the line. fold a little below the line. then continue the video. white side up

  • Just made this for the first time. It turned out great! Thank you for the video! ^^

  • Great to hear you made it! :)

Thanks for your comment, I'm glad you like my video ^^

  • What's the fastest way to cut the paper into perfect squares? I have rectangular paper squares and I don't want to spend and hour cutting them all.

  • If you search for 'Creating Square Paper for Origami" here on Youtube, you can find a very helpfull video to cut squares from any paper. (It's the first video that shows up in the list)

I know cutting paper can be time consuming, but it's very important that your paper is perfectly square.

  • can i use 8 paper only for that one? cause i will surely just waste any paper for that

  • I think the model looks better with more units, but you can try anything you like :)

  • What is this called

  • @matty1614

"Four-dimensional box" is the official name for this model given by the designer.

  • i dont get how to do the last part because wen i try it doesnt fold right

  • It's hard to explain. So I don't know if I can help. Just make sure the units are aligned correctly (look at the creases). If you accidently switch the right x left units, they won't fit together as they should.

  • awsome

  • What is better to use? origami paper? Or Copy Paper?

  • Copy paper might be a better option for this model.

Kami can be a bit unstable. :)

  • I love the paper you used =D

  • which side is up when you start folding???

  • In origami you usually start white side up :) That's also the same for this model. Because I used copy paper there is no white side.

I would also like to mention that copy paper might be a better option for this model.

Kami can be a bit unstable. :)

  • @samuriwerewolf

"Four dimensional (?) box" is the name given to this model in the book by Kunihiko Kasahara.(The person who designed this box) It's the only 'official' name I know for this box :)

  • @fl4k3z0r oh well its still badass i can't wait to make one
