The rule of law requires Zelaya to be removed from office. If you do not understand that, I don't know how to help you. Zelaya violated the Constitution he swore to uphold. Obama supports Zelaya because he knows this could happen to him too. The US is facing a Constitutional crisis because of Obama.
the problem with zelaya is he's a puppet and he's a bitch of hugo chavez.. Chavez is trying to control southern and central america. how can you trust a man who has funded the guerilla group FARC! seriously! this move the governement did in honduras i Applaud them!!! ON how in the hell does Obama dare say respect democracy! zalays wanted to change the constituton so the SOB could run for president again. Who do you think put him up to that..... Chavez! wake up people!!
The Honduran Supreme Court ruled the Army was correct to remove the president from office because he violated the Constitution. What happened in Honduras could happen in the US. If the Supreme Court rules Obama is not a natural born citizen and therefore not eligible to be president, the Army will be ordered to remove Obama from office. The removal of Zelaya is just and constitutional.
Soto Cano Military Base is the headquarters of the coup..look it up..the hondurean military is funded and supported by the US via Soto Cano and has been for decades..it is physically and scientifically impossible that this coup was not with the support of the US Administration, impossible...in fact, Obama has the same excat policies as Clinton and Bush, "free market" "free trade" imperialism, colonialism, etc..same exact policies, same exact people in his cabinet
Hitler said a bunch of lies and so many idiots believed him. History proves it: murderous dictators are good at lying, ignorants believe them and corrupted leaders support them. But in the end the truth comes out, for it cannot be concealed forever. Zelaya is a murderous, drug dealer, thief, abuser, insane dictator. I know this for a fact, I witnessed his abuses and crimes for three years.
The legal removal of Manuel Zelaya from Honduras is the best thing that ever happened to the country. Manuel Zelaya wanted to become the next dictator in Latin America and wanted to turn Honduras into a small version of Cuba/Venezuela. Honduras is a paradise of peace ever since Manuel Zelaya is not around. Not to mention that not a single airplane loaded with cocaine has landed in the country. (Manuel Zelaya is strongly linked to drug traffic as well!) JAIL is where Manuel Zelaya belongs!
Legal removal??? There is nothing in the Honduran Congress that justifies the action taken to kidnap a president and expel him from the country. That is not justified by the Honduran Constitution. If he was supposely commited a crime why not charge him and take him to the Supreme Court in his own country??
YES, I NEVER meant that taking him out of the country was legal, I said HIS REMOVAL from presidency IS LEGAL. Why not simply charge him, you ask? Well, you see, this conflict is not just Manuel Zelaya against Roberto Micheletti and the Honduran people, this conflict is also Fidel Castro and Hugo Chavez against the United States...we're talking MAJOR world powers...which would have meant MAJOR MASS KILLINGS in Honduras if Manuel Zelaya would have simply been removed from his position.
Wrong again, whether you believe it or not, Chavez and Castro has great relationship with many Americans supporters. They like Americans, they just hate their foreign policy....PLEASE GET IT RIGHT! As for this killings, please elaborate more on your answer. ???
You're walking on egg shells here...my point is that Manuel Zelaya's removal from presidency was the best decision, if we want a better future for Honduras. Just today, Manuel Zelaya admitted to a Brasilian Magazine, in Sao Paolo, that he does want Communism in Honduras. What Honduras needs is a complete new government. No Zelaya, no Micheletti, no war, A COMPLETE NEW GOVERNMENT.
That's your point your of view wanted to Zeleya out. But in the world's vie of politics, its a definitely a coup. If you support this coup, than it just proves to me that you are nothing more than fascist individaul. Adios. Viva Honduras and let them people of Honduras decide in their own fate, not from a couple of morons in the current bought of f government
If you are not Honduran, like myself, and you have not lived here for ALL your life, you cannot give an unbiased opinion about this subject. Find the definition of coup in a dictionary; the military is not in charge of any government institutions here, and the ones who legally removed the president are backed up by the VAST majority of Hondurans. This is not a coup. Study Zelaya's government from its start: you will find nothing but corruption! Does Honduras deserve this? NO.
Do you honestly think Honduras deserves a corrupt-drug traficking-hungry for power man like Manuel Zelaya as president? In an ideal world, the congress could have sat down to a nice little chat with Manuel Zelaya and would have told him his ideology is illegal...but please realize, THIS IS NOT AN IDEAL WORLD!!! ESPECIALLY BECAUSE THIS IS CORRUPTION WE'RE DEALING WITH HERE!

Such foolish, foolish people -- Buying into the corporate media BS, reflexively supporting a force-of-arms removal of an elected President and an interum "president' who was not elected, and calling it 'democracy'!? Honduras' Courts & Congress are stacked with corrupt cronies of the rich oligarchy who resent & fear empowerment of the masses. Zelaya was at most a modest reformer who tried to extend political participation, & self-righteous 'experts' criticize his dictatorial ambitions? Fools.

anthony68drake: What a joke! the thief Manuel Zelaya, alias de idiot too says that he is praying for peace , this make me smile jajaja, this thief in a public presentation this ignorant doesn´t remember the God Father prayer this stupid only knows about how to destroy the constitution and peace in my country to become a dictator like castro and fidel
Watch the real true the amazings manifestations of peace and happiness in my country are because this Thief Ignorant and Idiot therer´s no longer our president
the referendum was legal due to the petition. however, under no way is the coup legal. the supreme court has no authority to call for a coup. those who defend the coup are ridiculous idiots
That is a straight out lie. Yes they should have impeached him instead of taking him by force to Costa Rica but the majority of the country did not want a government like the one that Hugh Chaves and Fidel Castro have in their country's. He was trying to change the constitution of Honduras that is wrong. An i wish that the news networks like CNN or any other that side with Mel Zelaya, Fidel Castro, Hugh Chaves to "OPEN YOUR EYES PLEASE".
"Yes they should have impeached him instead of taking him by force to Costa Rica"
And I think the only difference between us is if you think that's a big deal or not. I think it is. To not follow due process in removing a democratically elected president (even if he has violated the Constitution) turns a lawful process into an unstable coup. I think most of the world would have had no problem had Congress impeached Zelaya rather than sent the military to physically force him into exile.
That thief never worry about national health care, security, womens right, and it´s a lie that the people ask for a referendum... ask the people how sign that, it´s was forced to sign it,
The only thing that he alwasy was worried is to buy horses, motorcycles, proterties and drugs.
HE´S A THIEF A THIEF A THIEF AN A DICTATOR LIKE CHAVEZ AND FIDEL
As a Honduran citizen I would like to reach out to those in the US and in other countries
Do not allow this communist to take power in my country. Not only has he broken many laws and has been taking large sums of dollars from Hugo Chavez and drug cartels, but he wanted to change our constitution to give himself
How would you feel if Bill Clinton had decided to extend his term? Or Bush?...
Doesnt matter if you are Republican or Democrat, the matter of fact is that we do not want a dictator ruling our country. We want a democracy and we intend to keep it that way.
people are confused because they have never seen nothing like it, thats it. we wont take a president that is so corrupt, just because he is the president he has no right to abuse of Honduras!
i´m sorry about luisofsuburbia did you leave in my country? please be nice and inteligent and try to think about why it´s good to have a dictator in our countries, Fidel eats wine and good food but his people doens´t eat like him, chavez is a dictator worse.
Zelaya talks about rich and i would ask you, why he buys propierties horses motorcicles if he heat the rich people?.
We the Honduran people are very happy this corrupt, drug addicted president is gone. He allowed the country to be used for drug trafficking and tried to change the constitution so he could be president for life. WE DO WANT HIM BACK.
latin american has always been our source of cheap labor and we always label the poor as communist or leftist when they demand more representation and a voice. so we divide the people there its just our way of keeping them confused and angry at each other so the corporations will have cheap resources and keeping the people as working poor with no future to bad these countries have so much and are just exploited by us and there corrupt rulers nothing new to theses what us to call banana republics
"The United States still has about 550-600 troops stationed at Soto Cano Air Base, a Honduran military installation that is also the headquarters for a regional U.S. joint task force that conducts humanitarian, drug and disaster relief operations. "
Oh no,the US had nothing to do with the coup, nothing, nada por nada!
In some of this video footage I see figures among the soldiers who look very American Spec Oo in body language--the way they look and stand. Anyone else see that?
See you little oligarchs--things have changeed. Big Daddy US is bankrupt. Caput. All over. USD ain;t worst shit anymore either. Even the fucking Mexicans are pissed.
Those are elite,hand-picked troops, and even most of them don't seem too happy. If the Army is split they are fucked. And the rich fucks are fucked too, unless they can buy off the whole fucking army, HAHAHAHAHA. And how long will that last, HAHAHAHA.
Obama better fly down there right away and put the prez back in.
That's the only way the whole of Latin American won't be laughing their balls off at him and the US.
u have the u.n, chavez, and obama, telling honduras what to do, i say no if this evil ones support the aousted president that means he is bad new for hounduras, i say support the coup, freedm, honduras dont be like venezuela with a dictator in power!
Dictator in power? He won Democratically and survived a US sponsored coup. You want to see real dictatorships? Just go to Mexico and Colombia. The whole world is against this coup, not just those leaders.
oh c'mon he's an asshole trying to play the victim he's a damn thief they found under his desk 68 million lemps means they were stolen and the money he used to pay to all the assholes that never worked in their lives and were eating from his hand palm thats why they are crying and making such a scandal about this because all they want is the money mel gave them stolen money by the way hi hope he dies he's wanna be chavez and fidel castro... h
u got it right! why is chavez and fidel and the u.n so worry about this, because like u say they watn to turn latin america into a communist countries, i say freedom to all latin america, kill chavez, castro, impeach obama!
People do not want any more Castros, Chavez, Ortega or any kind of lefty dictator in power any more. Just look at Cuba, 50 long years of misery, no freedom, no elections, only one political party allowed, thousand of innocent Cubans in jail, many other killed, millions in exile, Havana is just a big ruin with sad people, hungry, prostitutes everywhere, necessity, fear to speak and to think freely. Honduras doesn't want that. Good for Honduras.
So what do you think people want? Since you seem to speak for all of Latin America. Wait I know people want big corporations to come into their countries and take every single natural resource available. People want to forget about their culture and adopt the American culture (Which emphasizes money and self pity). you talk about poor people. well there are many people starving in the streets of America. And in the rest of the world. At least Cuba doesn't treat their citizens as investment tools
that petitions your talking about were people forced bu Zelaya to sign.. if u went to a public hospital they obligated you to sign if you wanted attention... as well as those who worked in the goverment if they wanted to keep there jobs they had to sign.. And most of the people dont understand what Zelaya wanted he lied and said that those petitions were forms to help the poor get money and other things... we are proud of our leader.. they had to remove mel zelaya.. we love pur freedom
What a load of rubbish. You are a lying right wing thug. I am fed up with nazis are you in the cia this is sick you get employed to support evil fuck you. I hate white americans now you are all nazi scum.
Fuck obama he is the same as bush allowing scum to take over. You arenot form Honduras you are an evil white am erican nazi,.
The fucking bourgeoisie is behind this. The rich are afraid of people getting a piece of the cake! I hope the people rise up against the illegal coup!
Please come to my country and see how this tief lives, he buy horses that cost more than $ 200,000.00 and you talk about the rich, my country is a narco state because of him.
Do not believe what that thief said.
And i want to tell you, i´m not a rich person i work hard to eat.
But i love my country and i tell you that man is a madman crazy for power.
Your country was a narco country before him and it will continue to be after him. You preach about listening and yet you support an illegal coup of a DEMOCRATIC elected official. So you want people to take you seriously about listening to your side, when you use violence instead of using that very thing that you preach. Sorry but it doesn't work that way. The private sector is behind this coup. You really think that corporations are on your side? Stop listening to corporate state sponsored media.
Starting to smell like a revolution. The poor and the native people who make up a huge majority of the country are tired of being oppressed by the pigs at the top of the economic ladder. Why are rich people so afraid of elections these days?
Good for the Honduran people to oust this criminal. He was exerting power over the constitution of the land and was ruled out of line by the Supreme Court, the Attorney General, Honduran Congress, even his own party. The man went running to who? Chavez! That tells you what was on his mind and his intentions of changing the constitution and remain in power. I am not sure the military was the right vehicle to oust the President instead of an impeachment, but so it is! Adios Zelaya!
Whatever happen to over trow a president that was elected by his people is not the right message, all the latin countries should united agains this lawless people and make them paid for such act. no one in this world have the right to overtrow a president choosen by the people. If at any time someone feel offended I apologize, But I just using my right of free of speech. thank you
Former president Zelaya organized on his own a 'poll' wich has no legal grounds on whether the constitution needed to be reformed. He's campaign promised change for the poor people and was supported by practically no one, because it was based on lies and without the support from any of the Honduran institutions or it´s people. Because he broke the law on several ocasions he was removed and according to honduran law the president of congress (the vicepresident resigned 1 year ago) takes command
idiot, 400,000 citizens signed a petition for a referendum and presented it to the government. the referendum would have called for changes such as protecting workers' right, a national health care plan, subsidized education, women's rights, etc. Had you been informed you would know. Find the sources yourself illiterate shit.
If it was legal than you just think the Constitution is a meaningless document. Maybe YOU didn't know but this referendum you speak of is not allowed to be called for, dictated by, and used with Venezuelan ballots. Not by they're Constitution. The Congress, Military, Catholic Church, and members of his own party all could see what was happening, and they stood up for the LAW. Yes, the same "rule of law" that our stupid President and Sec of State are quoting as a reason to oppose the "coup".
Actually, the referendum was legal due to the petition. A petition signed by 400,000 of the 7 million people in the nation!
Regardless, under no circumstances is it legal for the supreme court to call for a coup and Congress to swear in a new president. That is clearly a constitutional violation if you want to get legal about it.
SEFARAD2K4 You are telling a not true story , the people signed the petition because they was forced by the Goverment of Mel Zelaya if the people dont sign they and their family they lost his work, or another metods wen a person went to a public hospital have to sign the petition or for and other services of the goberment if the person dont sign the petition the person do not obtain the service needed.
That is simply not true. If he controlled the oligarchy, they wouldn't have ousted him in a coup! On the contrary, people were intimidated by the oligarchy to not participate in the referendum.
catrachito: IDK where you get this story of people being coerced to sign the polling petition -- No one else is repeating it, odd esp. since Honduran officials are blocking ALL pro-Zelaya & resistance info. I think you are misrepresenting things. In any case, Zelaya didn't need a petition. The opinion poll consultation was specifically authorized by Article 5 of Civilian Participation Act 2006, to ask public re: policy issues. There's NO way to justify deposing Zelaya for empowering the masses.
To early to tell what will happen but I could tell that they would appoint a millitary strongman as an interim president to be followed by elections under the watch of the army.

Chaves was elected , Zelaya was elected and the constitution is something that has to be change !!
People dont have to obey some rule made by a small group of people in some time just because is in the constitution.
Brazil had 7 constitutions , Argentina has moddified its constitution 7 times and England and Israel dont even have one !!!
You shouldnt belve only on what you see on the tv !!!

They need to modify the constitution so "the big brother" can stay for ever on the power as Castro did.
This is the way they have desing to reach a totalitariam regime. This is what they call "Socialismo del Siglo XXI".

the referendum was legal due to the petition. however, under no way is the coup legal. the supreme court has no authority to call for a coup. those who defend the coup are ridiculous idiots

Honduran President Says He's Victim of 'Coup'
That is a straight out lie. Yes they should have impeached him instead of taking him by force to Costa Rica but the majority of the country did not want a government like the one that Hugh Chaves and Fidel Castro have in their country's. He was trying to change the constitution of Honduras that is wrong. An i wish that the news networks like CNN or any other that side with Mel Zelaya, Fidel Castro, Hugh Chaves to "OPEN YOUR EYES PLEASE".
victorfer91 2 years ago
"Yes they should have impeached him instead of taking him by force to Costa Rica"
And I think the only difference between us is if you think that's a big deal or not. I think it is. To not follow due process in removing a democratically elected president (even if he has violated the Constitution) turns a lawful process into an unstable coup. I think most of the world would have had no problem had Congress impeached Zelaya rather than sent the military to physically force him into exile.

longer time in office.
How would you feel if Bill Clinton had decided to extend his term? Or Bush?...
Doesnt matter if you are Republican or Democrat, the matter of fact is that we do not want a dictator ruling our country. We want a democracy and we intend to keep it that way.
ereyes28 2 years ago 2
There was NO military coup because:
1- the military didnt take over
2- the constitutional order remains intact
people are confused because they have never seen nothing like it, thats it. we wont take a president that is so corrupt, just because he is the president he has no right to abuse of Honduras!

latin american has always been our source of cheap labor and we always label the poor as communist or leftist when they demand more representation and a voice. so we divide the people there its just our way of keeping them confused and angry at each other so the corporations will have cheap resources and keeping the people as working poor with no future to bad these countries have so much and are just exploited by us and there corrupt rulers nothing new to theses what us to call banana republics

Politeama 2 years ago

Do not believe what that thief said.
And i want to tell you, i´m not a rich person i work hard to eat.
But i love my country and i tell you that man is a madman crazy for power.
Please listen the other side
s1106 2 years ago
Your country was a narco country before him and it will continue to be after him. You preach about listening and yet you support an illegal coup of a DEMOCRATIC elected official. So you want people to take you seriously about listening to your side, when you use violence instead of using that very thing that you preach. Sorry but it doesn't work that way. The private sector is behind this coup. You really think that corporations are on your side? Stop listening to corporate state sponsored media.
luisofsuburbia 2 years ago
What other side? The extreme right wing and the capitalists? The military trained at the School of the Americas(Suazo and Vasquez, the coup leaders)?
SEFARAD2K4 2 years ago

LordPillsbury1959 2 years ago 2
Whatever happen to over trow a president that was elected by his people is not the right message, all the latin countries should united agains this lawless people and make them paid for such act. no one in this world have the right to overtrow a president choosen by the people. If at any time someone feel offended I apologize, But I just using my right of free of speech. thank you
2009jcmar 2 years ago
Former president Zelaya organized on his own a 'poll' wich has no legal grounds on whether the constitution needed to be reformed. He's campaign promised change for the poor people and was supported by practically no one, because it was based on lies and without the support from any of the Honduran institutions or it´s people. Because he broke the law on several ocasions he was removed and according to honduran law the president of congress (the vicepresident resigned 1 year ago) takes command

The referendum was legal and would give the citizens more rights. It would also take away privileges from the elite.
SEFARAD2K4 2 years ago
cite your sources.
idlefritz 2 years ago
idiot, 400,000 citizens signed a petition for a referendum and presented it to the government. the referendum would have called for changes such as protecting workers' right, a national health care plan, subsidized education, women's rights, etc. Had you been informed you would know. Find the sources yourself illiterate shit.
SEFARAD2K4 2 years ago
If it was legal than you just think the Constitution is a meaningless document. Maybe YOU didn't know but this referendum you speak of is not allowed to be called for, dictated by, and used with Venezuelan ballots. Not by they're Constitution. The Congress, Military, Catholic Church, and members of his own party all could see what was happening, and they stood up for the LAW. Yes, the same "rule of law" that our stupid President and Sec of State are quoting as a reason to oppose the "coup".
Calibob858 2 years ago
Actually, the referendum was legal due to the petition. A petition signed by 400,000 of the 7 million people in the nation!
Regardless, under no circumstances is it legal for the supreme court to call for a coup and Congress to swear in a new president. That is clearly a constitutional violation if you want to get legal about it.
SEFARAD2K4 2 years ago
SEFARAD2K4 You are telling a not true story , the people signed the petition because they was forced by the Goverment of Mel Zelaya if the people dont sign they and their family they lost his work, or another metods wen a person went to a public hospital have to sign the petition or for and other services of the goberment if the person dont sign the petition the person do not obtain the service needed.
catrachito321 2 years ago
That is simply not true. If he controlled the oligarchy, they wouldn't have ousted him in a coup! On the contrary, people were intimidated by the oligarchy to not participate in the referendum.
SEFARAD2K4 2 years ago
catrachito: IDK where you get this story of people being coerced to sign the polling petition -- No one else is repeating it, odd esp. since Honduran officials are blocking ALL pro-Zelaya & resistance info.
