  • Did you use a terragen map for this?

  • this is awesome

  • I will second what most people are saying here. While it didn't take me 6 months to make a basic program (made pong in about a month or so?) It is by no means something that you can whip together.

The best advice I can give to anyone interested in independently making a game is to find some buddies to collaborate with. If you actually get anywhere close to a finished, polished game, you will need many many resources, such as art work, 3d models, music, sound, and so on.

  • thanks, i decided i'm just gonna learn the code.

  • Hi. I'm thinking of making XNA games, hopefully making a little money, but I know absolutely NOTHING about C, C++, or C# coding. Can someone tell me what programs and applications I'll need to get a basic game running? If someone knows tutorials, please let me know.

  • riemers (.) com

  • if you know nothing about c3 than you be spending weeks learing the language. it nothing you can just pick up. it will be awhile before you make your first 2d game with out the help of tutorials. not trying to shoot you down this is just one of those things that people think is easy or thay can learn fast but by no meens is it.

  • @somerockenguy Well, C# isn't THAT hard. I went into with Good VB skills and I'm not doing too horribly.

  • Well to start if you want to make games 'easy' first go to your local book store or library and pick up some books on C# read them each at least twice, code some simple programs practice with the language. THEN after you have done that, (will take AT THE VERY LEAST 6 months) then go to creaters(.).XNA(.)com and download XNA game studio Then go to the Get Started tutorials and go through the 2d tutorial Modify your game Make many of your own, then continue onto the 3d tutorial and repeat thesteps

  • If you want to make a 2D game, you will at least a graphics program like Paint make the assets (characters, backgrounds, objects...) and enough C-like programming skills to make a simple game, which is probably between basic and moderate skills.

  • Making a 3D game is....... a different story. You would need to create 3D assets. If you are on a tight budget, you can try using Blender, but be warned: it isn't easy to master. You would now need at least close-to-moderate programming skills to assemble a basic 3D Game. Music and sounds are also a different story.

  • Pretty good. I think it just needs some glittery light reflection added.

  • awesoe really relestc!

  • Very Nice!
