@AlizeRosenkreuz actually tanay had already been in another movie before slumdog..its an indian film called "taare zameen par". he plays the protagonist's best friend.

Are you crazy??? what u mean by absolute poverty???? Only the 2 youngest kids (rubina & azhar) are from slums and are poor, but the rest of the 4 kids are from very good, rich and very well educated families and are studying in the best schools of Mumbai.... infect the middle jamal is a star and already have been appeared in many big budgeted bollywood films in very important and central roles... so plz try to get over your superiority complex
