@MrDimitrijetucovic Serbs lived in Bosnia BEFORE the Muslim religion came there and Croats were always the smallest of the main 'ethnic' groups there. Furthermore there were more Serbs than Bosnian Muslims up until a few decades ago. In Austrian census in late 1800's Serbs were 40-something percent and Muslims on 30-something percent. The Muslims were created by the Ottomans then propped up later by the Austrians. Furthermore they and other Catholics created newly minted 'Croats' out of Serbs.

This is so great. I'm glad that there are people who aren't even from the country that see we aren't animals. Everyone in my high school makes jokes about how I'm an animal and a monster just because I'm Serbian. There need to be more people like you.

Man do you have a some complex or or psychological problem ? All peoples who have been in Serbia sometime have incredibly positive experience and this is proven. However, you're wrong about pretty much everything, live there a little longer and you'll see the true mentality of teh Balkans. What you received was polite hospitality to a stranger. look up the videos of gay parades in the Balkans, Serbs being animals? yeah that's stupid generalizing, but please don't talk about war atrocities like they're blown out of proportion. They're not.
But I agree that media is not easy on Serbia. That sucks.

In Serbia live Serbs, Bosniaks, Croats, Hungarians, Ruthenians, Albanians, Montenegrins, a large amont of Roma, Bulgarians in the southeast, and quite a few Romanians in the northeast, also about 50,000 Macedonians. Trust me, I have done the homework on this. Serbia is the most multiethnic by far. Regards...

I blocked MrDNA1982 and will do so to anyone who denegrates me calling me a liar as well as anyone who spews hatred against any people. These were my experiences; and yes there are both good and bad people everywhere and there are people who steal in Serbia and those who do commit fraud,. BUT as far as feeling safe, I meant from bodily harm as most people do not feel that way in big cities here. AND hopefully I will feel the same way when I am there in 2 weeks!

This is a very nice video. I am From Serbia, and I believe that all people from this region are similar in both good and bad ways (Croats, Serbs, Bosnian - Bosniaks included, Macedonians, Montenegrin). There are bad people everywhere, but when looking at good people here in Balkans, Americans usually have similar impressions as you or Cather. Thank you for this video!

During the war years our so called enemies did not hesitate to seek refuge in Serbia because they knew that they would be treated well something a Serb could never do in their lands. Propaganda is a plague of today's societies, media holds so much power to change people's perspectives and public opinions of the world around them, and especially of the countries across the planet of which they have vague or no knowledge at all. I do not want this thread/video to have anything to do with any war or any hatred (still) shared due to said wars. No one is totally innocent, and all sides have to admit that point, no matter what war you are talking about. WAR IS HELL; WAR BRINGS OUT THE BARBARIC WORST IN PEOPLE: CASE CLOSED. What it takes now is to not forget the past, but don't let it rule you now and in the future. People DO CHANGE and YOU can be part of that change; holding in hatred/bias does not bring about peace.

What I had told him was YES, I do know about these "dark secrets' as I was in Serbia when this broke and I was APPALLED. But no nation is perfect and mostly ALL nations under a dictatorship/communism or coming out of these have the same "secret" (and I gave him the link about Croatia's treament of their mentally ill). @curucu111 Bosnia is multiethnic to be sure, but Serbia is much more so. In Serbia live Serbs, Bosniaks, Croats, Hungarians, Ruthenians, Albanians, Montenegrins, a large amont of Roma, Bulgarians in the southeast, and quite a few Romanians in the northeast, also about 50,000 Macedonians. Trust me, I have done the homework on this. Serbia is the most multiethnic by far. Regards...

I blocked MrDNA1982 and will do so to anyone who denegrates me calling me a liar as well as anyone who spews hatred against any people. These were my experiences; and yes there are both good and bad people everywhere and there are people who steal in Serbia and those who do commit fraud,. BUT as far as feeling safe, I meant from bodily harm as most people do not feel that way in big cities here. AND hopefully I will feel the same way when I am there in 2 weeks!

BUT what I agree the most is what you said about the war breaking out and all that hatred....but apparently hatred that was so deep seated. I pray that people will learn to forgive..... This is a very nice video. I am From Serbia, and I believe that all people from this region are similar in both good and bad ways (Croats, Serbs, Bosnian - Bosniaks included, Macedonians, Montenegrin). There are bad people everywhere, but when looking at good people here in Balkans, Americans usually have similar impressions as you or Cather. Thank you for this video!

There are both good and bad people everywhere, and what Charles and I have seen (for the most part) is the good as we dealt with everyday people who are as curious and open about Amercans as we are about Serbs. He is impressed with Americans in a similar way that you (and Cather) are impressed with Serbian people - but he is impressed with different things. Thank you for your kind words about us. You see Serbs are interesting in that we take hospitality very seriously.There is a reason why Serbia is the most multiethnic state in the Balkans. During the war years our so called enemies did not hesitate to seek refuge in Serbia because they knew that they would be treated well something a Serb could never do in their lands. Propaganda is a plague of today's societies, media holds so much power to change people's perspectives and public opinions of the world around them, and especially of the countries across the planet of which they have vague or no knowledge at all. I do not want this thread/video to have anything to do with any war or any hatred (still) shared due to said wars. No one is totally innocent, and all sides have to admit that point, no matter what war you are talking about. WAR IS HELL; WAR BRINGS OUT THE BARBARIC WORST IN PEOPLE: CASE CLOSED. What it takes now is to not forget the past, but don't let it rule you now and in the future. People DO CHANGE and YOU can be part of that change; holding in hatred/bias does not bring about peace.
