I disagree with your position. The war helped Israel incidently but I dont believe they have anything to fear from conventional Arab attacks as the Israelis have the bomb and the Arabs don't. The war was obviously primarily about the control of the second biggest oil reserves in the world and to maintain stability in a region that most of the world depends on for it's energy. Control the Middle East and you control the world.
