Your camera is too high, we don't understand and don't see anything to what you did!!!!!!!!!!!!! Insane to present a tutorial when nobody can see clairly what you explain.Yamaha MO6 is too complicate and really bad made.
I hear you saying that it has these cool patterns, templates, etc. but don't see where to go to find em. I did what you do on the board in this video, and can't make those buttons produce those sounds. If I bring up the preset sounds by hitting file/utility together, hit enter then those are loaded up. But the buttons to the right only play the tracks of those presets. How do I get the MO6 to do what you are demonstrating in this video? I missed a button somewhere.
Hi can you please consider creating a MO youtube tutorial where you actually build a drum pattern first one part at a time (I guess that would be called "STEP PROGRAMMING) rather than used pre-programmed beats? For example...TRACK ONE bass drum, TRACK TWO snare drum, TRACK THREE high hat. Then some instruments such as TRACK FOUR bass guitar, TRACK FIVE keys.etc...? This would be much more helpful than using these pre-fab beats
@thelearningcenter I no longer own the unit so I can't do this. However if I recall, creating your own beat is fairly straight forward, just select the drum patch you like, and make a pattern blank (you have to scroll through the patterns and find a blank / user patch). Hit record, play beat, boom. If you want drums on different tracks you just need to create as many tracks as you want for this, put each drum on a differnt track. It is not an ideal machine for doing complex drum stuff though...
hey thanks helped a lot, but how would i record a whole song like witht the melody changing and everything cause that keeps repeating? (sorry im new at this )
@Pianosinger96 glad to help. As mentioned I no longer own the MO, but if I recall there is a function like "song mode" where you can string a bunch a patterns together to make a song.
@fmarkow bro can you tell me how to save a pater n i made , evertime i shut off my mo6 when i turn it back on , the pattern i made is gone .. please help !
@VirussBeats The MO does not save stuff on board, you need to save it to an external USB thumb drive. There is a slot on the back of the keyboard, plug in your drive, go to the utility tab, look for save / patterns.
Thanks for the tutorial. There's so much going on with the MO6 it's kinda hard to know where to start. It's much easier watching someone going through the process than reading the manual. Well done . . .very helpful!
Hi, if you can help me with this question greatly appreciated, when I recorded a arpeggio guitar into a track, when I play it back, sound is totally different, wont be able to figure it out why?

@fmarkow Do you know how to record the arpeggios preset into the internal sequencer, every time I record a guitar track with arpeggios, when playback sound is different, thanks
Is is easy to change voices for MO6..during live play?
I have the PSR2100 arranger...and changing voices is easy. I recently got the Roland GW-8..and man...changing voices on that is tough b/c of that "dial wheel"
Technically the MO6 is a workstation, though it does have tons of patterns and arpeggios and makes it easy to build tracks. It is not as "arranger" like as the MM series, these are almost like karaoke keyboards (but alot of fun to play!).
Don't own the MO anymore, but all you have to do is pick a drum track and clear the pre-set track to a user track. Then you can record your own beats.
great video! i have this keyboard and its a lot of fun. mine was £475 (or $850??) and i think its great for the price. good voices and quite a flexible song/pattern mode. I still prefer to use a computer for more complex midi compositions but you can do that too!
How many patterns can you make and how many songs can you have on the mo6?
I want something live that can switch songs on the fly. Is it also possible to use something like usb or floppy to store songs on and reload back into the mo6?
You can make 8 patterns per song. As for songs, you can make as many as you want. The MO has a USB slot, you connect a thumb drive and store songs, so it is unlimited. Unfortunately you cannot store any songs on the MO, so for live, switching on the fly is not seamless, but if you can take a minute between songs for them to load you'd be fine.
Let me ammend that: you actually can load multiple songs, then keep them in the MO, then switch between them. So, it actually would work fine live. When you turn the MO off, you loose all the songs, but you could just re-laod them at each gig, no prob.
I would so appreciate it if you put in a view of the display at top, so can follow along and copy what you are doing.

hi what is the main difference between the MO6 and the motif ?
steflova2 10 months ago
It would so help if the camera was zoomed in tighter, and the screen be an inset, so I could see exactly what it looks like. Thanks.

fmarkow:
I'm considering buying the MO6..saw it today at Guitar Center for $896 (President's Day sale)
I'm style not sure about patterns vs. styles, which are from the PSR or TYROS series.
Would you be able to create a "freestyle" beat like from Johnny O's "Fantasy Girl"? With bass and whatever arp. you want to use.
If you could do that..just a small example would be fine. I just want to know if its something you can build yourself on the MO.
Thanks.
KJEboys 2 years ago
Wait...did he say "arranger?" I thought the MO6 is a workstation NOT an ARRANGER?
I thought it was like the XS series, NOT arrangers, but they HAVE patterns with arpegios...
Arrangers have styles with accompaniments,
