  • The thing I love most about this song is how the feeling of the narrator turns from depressive into angry towards the end. You can literally feel his desperation.

  • Just love this song, an its lyrics. Nothing more to say.

  • HO WOW... this is... is... realy romantic...

in my mind i can image those words, coming out the mouth of a templar..

    ...the warriors live is hard...

    ;) REALY A MASTERPIECE! ;)

  • @WhiteDraenei that's what the people did not what christianity the Bible and God is.

  • People will cry on and on about Christianity, but look around you, your civilization is being destroyed by muslims. You wont even be allowed to listen to music 50 years from now; and you'll have to pray 5 times a day.

    enjoy.

If anything, the crusaders should have done a better job and wiped them all out of existence. Christian civilizations turned into secular, democratic, prosperous, first world nations. The rest? to third world shitholes.

  • First song I ever heard by Kamelot. Brings me back. I was 11 at the time.

  • "building the road to my cavalry" not Calvary...

  • Some of them found glory, some of them found shame. May God have mercy on the souls of the crusaders. Requiescant in pace.

  • Roy Khan is one of, if not the best, male vocalist I have ever heard. It is a shame he left Kamelot. You will be missed Roy by your multitudes of fans!

  • Such terrible things like crusades and inquisitions wouldn't have happened If only people stopped listening to the power of PEOPLE (pope king and so on) and listened to God and His words in the Bible. I hope the people's souls then found peace...

  • @bakalovesbakachan um,didn't they do that because it was in the bible?

  • @linegenrou Well i'll try answering, but there are online bibles. If you want you could read Acts - it's written about how the disciples of God's son, Jesus, spread His teaching and news about the sacrifice that Jesus made for us and then His resurrection. I at least didn't see any crusader-like acts... Christianity is not "KILL THE INFIDEL"... the faith is just...love.

  • @linegenrou Actually there was a movie (i havent seen it but a friend of mine did and he told it to me) called Season of the witch (with Nicolas Cage). He was a crusader and after massacrading a whole village of women and children he knew this that he did could never be about such a thing as christianity.

  • @bakalovesbakachan you're speaking of a time when most people couldn't READ the bible, thus they "trusted" the (pope king and so on) to tell them what was in it... and the bible was written by man to begin with so shut up.

and the first person that tries debating this fact with have there god shot down 6 ways from sunday so don't bother...

  • @pandatrueno1 Yes I do, but those who couldn't read could listen, but it's a terrible fact that the Bible wasn't well known and people made their own authorities instead following the real authority of the Bible. AAaand yeah the Bible is written by people (now by machines), but the author of it is God. His Holy Spirit gave the words to the men who wrote it, so the author's God. There's historical proof about it and the Bible itself is proof enough only of itself about it.

  • @bakalovesbakachan:

If you truly believe that a couple hundred Jewish ghost writers

were possessed by the omnipotent spirit of the Universe itself,

wrote down their inspirations in perfect form,

and that they then proceeded to NOT CHANGE A THING for the next 6,000 years,

then I both pity and envy you, in your blind faith.

I am a follower of the teachings of Yeshua ben Yosef, but I do not even remotely buy into something that I know to be inconceivable within the bounds of the universe.

  • @CallingCrowe I do believe that the Bible is God's word, yes. History proves what's said in it. And they're not possessed, because they would've lost their free will.. And recently some manuscripts and scrolls of the Old Testament were found in a cave near the Dead Sea i think. They were dated to be around 150 BC and they were point to point accurate with those today. I've seen far too much to say that my faith is based on a lie. Jesus is real and lives. I hope you know Him someday...

  • @bakalovesbakachan The Bible is a compilation of numbered tweets

  • @CallingCrowe And if you like the teachings of Jesus (which is the greek for Yoshua, which means Savior) then why not read one of the gospels? All that He's said is awesome and true to the letter. History says that too :)

  • @bakalovesbakachan 1. yea they could listen if they didn't read, which is why when someone said "the bible says to kill these non-believers" they listened, hence the crusades

    2. They were following the bible as they knew it (as it was told to them by corrupt individuals)

    3. How can something itself, be proof of ITSELF? just because it is doesn't mean it was "god breathed", otherwise I can write a book about how important killing people is, and sign it god. god inspired me to write it.

    so yea.

  • @pandatrueno1 Yeah you're really right about these things. Sadly people then were held in ignorance...But yet...we've never been there anyway so who knows... about the first 2 - Just because people did that doesn't make the Bible or God evil. And about the 3rd thing...well the Bible can :) There's more than a single case of scientists or general inteligent ppl who try to disprove or refute the Bible and when they read it honestly they end up saying what's in there is true.

  • @bakalovesbakachan ok simple question here, SIMPLE question... you say that people try refuting the bible and after reading it say stuff in there is right...

When EXACTLY was the bible ACTUALLY written? because how easy would it be to write a book a few hundred years after all that and say "god made me write it"??? Just the same as I could write a prophetic book RIGHT NOW from the viewpoint of the 1990's with everything I know... and CLAIM it was lost for that time, now I'm psychic, follow me?

  • @pandatrueno1 The Torah was written around the 5th century BCE, and the Septuagint (the Greek translation of the Old Testament) was made around like 250-150 BCE or something like that. As for the New Testament, the gospels weren’t written until 65-100 CE. They were written at different times, likely all by different authors, and likely in the order Mark, Matthew, Luke, John. The Pauline epistles (the letters to various churches that Paul wrote) were written in the 50s CE.

  • @zapheil ok one more question for you, before I walk away and decide you're not worth my time...

Adam and Eve were the FIRST living beings (minus "god" of course) on the planet earth correct?

How do we have proof of dinosaurs LONG before we have proof of man? and why aren't dinosaurs in the bible??????

just saying, if adam and eve were here first, and then the animals after... this shouldn't be so should it?

  • @pandatrueno1 I'm Atheist, I don't personally believe that Adam and Eve existed. Dinosaurs probably aren't in the Bible because it was written by humans, and at that time humans didn't know that dinosaurs existed.

  • @zapheil

LOL, I'm christian, and I don't believe that Adam and Eve existed. Old testament is symbolic, problem is that people don't realize it.

  • @MorbidAngelOfSorrow Well said, that's it!

  • @MorbidAngelOfSorrow If that's what you believe then you are no Christian. You would do better to learn from the wisdom of Roy Khan's religious conversion; and I do believe he is a follower of Christ now.

  • @PropheticVindicator

Yes, I'm Christian, I'm just not a creationist.

  • @MorbidAngelOfSorrow That's a paradox. Your full faith is not in God's Word.

  • @PropheticVindicator

Lol. First, Bible was written by people, which that explains some things and also is a reason not to think 100% of the book is correct.

Second, what is paradoxical in believing that for example creating the universe descibed in Bible is a metaphor?

  • @MorbidAngelOfSorrow Sorry bro, the Bible is theopneustos (God-breathed), so you cannot say that only part of it is inspired. You either believe the whole thing or not at all. You have no argument here. I believe God and you don't. Simple. Science is not my God.

  • @PropheticVindicator

Once people realise that science and religion don't contradict each other, there will be less stupid discussions. All pre-Christian civilisations 'used' God to explain everything they cannot understand. You don't need science to see that, it simple and natural ;)

Tell me one thing: why symbolic understanding of God's word is wrong? Please don't tell me that you take The Book of Revelation literally?

  • @MorbidAngelOfSorrow I was willing to reason with you at first, but now I'm not going to waste my time. You will find out the truth one day for yourself, and answer to Him whose eyes are too holy to behold evil (Habakkuk 1:13). I pray you at least take repentance literally; for if you don't, then your soul is in danger.

  • @PropheticVindicator

I dont' think that God will be mad at me because I believe in evolution. Even my religious education teacher in elementary school didn't take it literally. Don't be so exclusive, I think atheists and muslims and some random african animal cult member will be in Heaven one day just like you ;)

  • @MorbidAngelOfSorrow I'm very disappointed to hear that, because Jesus is the only way to Heaven, and no one cometh unto the Father except by Him.

  • @PropheticVindicator

That's cruel. What about some kid from an Amazonian tribe who never got in touch with western civilization nor Christianity? Was he ever given a chance?

  • @MorbidAngelOfSorrow You got that from Richard Dawkins didn't you? Regardless, all flesh are unclean before God. The Lord would be just to condemn us all to Hell with no salvation. We have missionaries for the reason that all should hear the gospel. All should be given this wonderful gift.

  • @PropheticVindicator

Also, you say: " I believe God and you don't." Even if I'm not religious, it doesn't make me an atheist. I can believe in God out of any religion, many philosophers did.

  • @pandatrueno1 lol

  • @pandatrueno1 I thought that the Bible states that humans are amongst the last living things created.

  • @SilSolo true that, my apologies... Adam and eve were the "last created". Still leaves us two issues, 1. the Dinos. even if "man" didn't know about them, "god" would have, and since it was "authored" by "god", it should make mention of them...

and 2. it states that "man" shall have dominion over the animals of the earth.

Dominion - the power or right of governing and controlling; sovereign authority.

who's the last person you knew that could "command" animals? and no, a circus doesn't count...

  • @pandatrueno1 I guess this is the time for me to say that I don't seriously practice any religion and there's a reason for that lol I have read thru the whole bible twice, but both of those times were quite some time ago. I just went back thru the first chapter of Genesis. Okay, birds and fish were created on day 5 and land animals on day 6. I think there's a ton of room for debate and unmentioned details. Humans were the last to be mentioned.

  • @pandatrueno1 continued from the last post. You bring up a great point about dominion. The first thing that comes to mind for me is farm/factory-raised animals, like chickens. Their fates are completely in our hands, as are the ones used for entertainment, like the circus animals. As for the ones that are not domesticated, our actions have affected many of their populations.

  • @pandatrueno1 and as for the last part of this long reply: What bothers me personally is that one line in the Bible about lions eating straw. It's not common to see a massive religious debate in the comments section of a metal song lol

  • @pandatrueno1 Well, man, the Bible is of 2 parts. Old and New testament, y'know i guess. The old is comprised of few books of Moses, King Solomon, prophets psalms and some chronicles about the kings of the jews. All of em talked about the coming of Jesus. What archaelogists and historians find is that the old testament is from around 15th or 14th century (that's Moses's time). And the New testament is before 2000 years. Aaand history pretty much proves the authority of the Bible. :)

  • @pandatrueno1 Oh, you were answered, sorry :D Well yeah, what zapheil said is true, I just explained it otherwise. Moses lived around 15 century BC i think. He made the first 5 books. Then as time passed the other books were made. They were comprised in around 5 century BC i think. People didn't want to listen tho, even though God showed He loved them...

  • @bakalovesbakachan just because there's more than one doesn't mean it's a majority. I know of several people who are atheist *because* they actually read the bible, including a person who was in the process of becoming a...pastor, I believe it was.

  • @zapheil Well, ppl are different. I've had hard times believing but i prayed for God to help me and He did. He's a great guy if you get to know Him. :)

  • Restart in 0:00

  • This song is about the Crusades from the perspective of a medieval Crusader after he and his folks slayed so many 'Heretics' in the name of God/ Then he regrets retrospectively sinking in his own qualms and regretfullness. Sounds splendid.

  • AWESOME

  • Where do i find more songs of Kamleot like this 1??

  • GHESAS I LOVE THIS SONG; AND ALMOST ALL THE OTHER SONGS KAMELOT HAVE MADE!!!!!!!!!!!

But... some one have told me that they are a cristian, i dont think so, but is it true???

  • @hometail does it matter what religion they believe in?

  • @hometail: This song is a story. The entire original theme of the band was medieval. The song isn't about Khan. They've never quite commented on their religious views, although Thomas has shown a negative disposition towards organized religion.

  • @hometail Well, Khans old band Conception numerous songs who was more or less, "un-religious," if you like

  • hey man....where you got those pictures?they are reaaaaaly beatiful...like the song

  • this song is so beautiful!!!

  • lol u can see that this is like a total stairway to heaven rip off not in a bad way thou

  • @DimeForGod How in any way does this sound like stairway to heaven?

  • Reminds me of "He's a Pirate" =D

  • oh wow... I was introduced to Kamelot on Epica. I fell instantly in love and obsessed to death over it. I have got all of the recent discography, but I realized I hadn't seen what was before Epica. And my God, Khan is so versatile with his voice. Just so soothing, even now as he tends towards lower vocals and even got off some borderline grunts on One Cold Winter's Night.

Kamelot is fucking awesome. That is a solid hard fact.

  • @TheEarthforge

He's a very talented vocalist, indeed.

but it worries me when he does those "grunts" with his voice.

I'm afraid he might hurt his voice and damage his range or something

    :C

  • @InsanePuppy11010 yeah i know if kamelot stop doing music because he damage he voice i going to be x_x

  • @InsanePuppy11010 are you talking about the ones like in March of Mephisto? no thats a guy from a different band. those are done with with Shagrath from DIMMU BORGIR

  • @ZuZaarr

    no, I'm not

I mean, when they perform live.

I've heard Khan do a few low grunts.

or where he kind of roughs up his voice.

  • @InsanePuppy11010 oh, hmm, nevermind then. soz

  • @ZuZaarr: He's referring to lately. Especially live. Khan has started doing Bjorn Strid's vocal parts in The Great Pandemonium, and has been doing little grunts in Elizabeth for a couple years now. It IS damaging his voice, and I don't know why he's continuing to do them. He has apparently been depressed lately, and having neurotic breakdowns (which is why the American tour was cancelled this year.) Perhaps it's his own little career suicide. We'll never know. I don't know the guy.

  • @CallingCrowe I've heard there are ways to do the grunts without injuring yourself, it just takes a heckuva lot of practice. Given Khan's so well practiced in opera, I think he can do the grunts as such.

However, it is true his upper range has been diminishing. That might be linked to his burnout. However, it could also be family, friends, work, etc. The list goes on.

In my little selfish view of the universe, it's frustrating as Kamelot is the one band I want to see live!

  • @TheEarthforge: There are ways to do it without injuring yourself, but in regards to operatic vocals, it will affect the vocal range a bit. Even so, he ISN'T doing them in that regard. His are audibly scratchy, and stretching his vocal chords. Granted, his vocal diminishing could be related to anything, but on this recording it's clear he's just stretching himself too much.

  • Great song nice pics,

  • THANK you for making this video.. last time i searched for this song i only found an annoying anime show...this song really deserves such a video,.thanks !

  • just have to love it :)
