@TheVHSHell Here's something I want to bring up. Voices affect a movie much more than they affect a game.

If a game has bad voice acting in a cutscene you can just skip it, and it doesn't harm the gameplay. But if a movie has bad voice acting it can be more harmful to it overall.

Good review, the voice acting was horrible and Sara was annoying as hell and I agree she is much more annoying than Elise, but I would go as far and say she is more annoying than Shahra the genie from Secret rings, but in spite of all that I thought the movie was pretty good, you could say it's my guilty pleasure.

Voice acting WORSE than sonic heroes and 06? Nonstop for an HOUR? I might be able to deal with it if the animation was good, but i've seen sprite movies that had less choppy animation. I give the movie 1.5/5.

i think sonics voice was awesome in the movie!!! and tails and saRA were the only bad ones! and metal sonic saved them because he is programmed to hav sonics personality and so he had to do the right thing in the end! i give this movie a 4.5 stars out of 5 stars!

I never saw this movie, but the voice acting is horrid, worse than Sonic Heroes voice acting to me, and that's a fucking accomplishment! Hell I'll go and say that it's on par with the voice acting from Megaman 8. Though I thought the corny bits were so stupid that it was funny. But with that, I'll probably pass on it. Good review man!

I also find this to be one of my favorite movies ever, but your opinions are respectable, and you made some good points. But my biggest gripe with Tails's voice was that he sounded like he had a cold throughout the whole movie!

Actually Tom, they did explain Metal Sonic's change of heart. Metal apparently began to sync his mind with that of Sonic, so that he could predict his moves even better and ultimately have an easy time killing him. What he didn't count on was gaining Sonic's heroic behavior, and ended up doing the right thing in the end, at the cost of his own life. That's what I gathered from it anyway.

How old were you when you saw this? I saw this when I was little when it released in America, being a Sonic fan in my early years (and to this day), I have a soft spot for this movie. Maybe I just have nostalgia goggles for this, but I can take a critical review of this movie. There are some retrofags who will defend SATAM to death.

Trivia: The guy who voiced Robotnik, Edwin Neal played  the cannibalistic brother of famous slasher, Leatherface AKA The Hitchhiker from the famous horror film, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

About your opinion on the voice acting, yes, it was bad, but in my opinion, it's actually kind of entertaining. Sonic 06's was just plain bad.

@dwibs93 I actually found 06's voice acting to be okay. Not great but not terrible. Definitely better then the voice acting in the Adventure games and Heroes though.

@dwibs93 The thing about Sonic 06's voice acting is the 4Kids voice actors were a mixed bag. Yeah some like Sonic, Tails and Rouge just sounded plain bad, but it did have some good voices e.g. Knuckles and Eggman. And Mephiles's evil laugh alone makes Sonic 06's voice acting better.

@Shadsilvson11 Sonic was bad to start with but then improved, Tails was very painful to listen to (except for Unleashed, and the 4Kids voice isn't the worst Tails voice ever), Rouge, no comment, everyone else is either meh or good.

@Shadsilvson11 Well it was originally a Japanese anime movie and in Japan sexual innuendo's and swear words and obscene body languages aren't considered inappropriate for kids. Heck you can have a full frontal shot of a Naked Woman (with everything showing) on a Japanese kids show and it isn't considered wrong.

He actually was using his Middle Finger in the Japanese version, the American version edited it to make it look more like his index finger but it still looks iffy to me.

@Shadsilvson11 how does his evil laugh make it better? I thought for the most part, 06's voice acting was pretty bad, and the script was even worse. There were even 1-2 instances were the actors actually derped. As for the animation, saying it was outdated was pretty obvious because it was made in 1996. At least that's my opinion.

I did liked this movie as a kid. But from your point of view, I can truly understand why this movie isn't really that perfect. I mean, I always wondered why Tails has to yell just to get something across. and for Sarah, she is SO damn whiny, just like Veruca Salt! Although I do feel nostalgic for this movie, but I do agree that its pretty mediocre at the end of the day. Good job with the review, Tom!

@Shadsilvson11 Another thing about Seira that is annoying is that basically says in her second line that she doesn't care about what happens to her Father or the people of her kingdom as long as her and Sonic will be safe. Wow. At least Princess Elise had a kind, nice, and selfless personality who didn't put her love for Sonic before the well being of others. Seira she is just a little brat with an annoying personality that is a shameful disgrace of a love interest for Sonic.

@Shadsilvson11 Well yeah but realistically with every tragedy that she had to endure a little outburst like that is to be expected. But she quickly realises her mistake and makes the right choice. I think that's kind of why I like Elise. It's because despite the romance between her and Sonic she wasn't a bad character by any other stretch of the imagination and she does contribute to the game in both the story and the gameplay (unlike Shahra!!!!XD)

Never got into this movie to be honest. Granted, it's not on the same boat as the Super Mario Bros movie, but I stopped halfway through cause to me the characters acted a bit too crazy at times, and the voice acting, yes, it is horrific. I also didn't find the sexual hinnuendos clever and were obviously forced in. Again, not an atrocious movie, just very mediocre.
