Myself and two others watched this that day for amost an hour. No, not. Venus. No, not a weather balloon. it is impossible that it was venus, because it wasent there the next night.secondly a weather balloon has a very long teardrop shape to it. This was neither. Sorry. In Phoenix, you can see planets very easily because of the Desert sky and the location of Phoenix, but very good video.

It's not too early to see stars or a planet in the sky. I never saw that light move I did see the clouds around it move. You turned off the tape as a dark cloud came in front of it. This was proof of nothing.

it probably is a balloon as the description says, if they have it on record im sure its legit. but there are hundreds and hundreds of VERY similar sightings in which people check with their local airports and landing strips and such, and they have no records of ever launching anything like that. but if NASA says that THEY launched it, good chance they are lying heh..

They are usually in pairs. They are out there every night in the west and to the east. They do move once in a while rising and lowering on the horizon. At night the colors flash so brightly that they look like police car lights flashing up there. Kinda funny how the media is not covering these because they are in our atmosphere. I saw the same thing. I looked at it through binoculars and its just a weather balloon. It was launched from New Mexico the day before. The news also had a story with a close zoom of the weather balloon.

Weather balloons are only stay in the air for two hours, they are small to start approx 6- 8 Ft in diameter, They balloon up to 25 feet as they rise up then they explode once they reach approx. 10,000 ft. Don't believe me? google weather balloons.

Also weather balloons don't stay still.

I saw it too last night and looked at it through my telescope. You could see a hot air balloon shape and stitching pattern.. but what was interesting was there was a dot hanging below it about the same distance as the height of the balloon. It was all illuminated due to the sunset and the tethered object looked like a small star hanging from the balloon. Wonder what it is dragging around?

While vacationing in Sedona, Az w/my sister. On 5-18-09 we were visiting the Hyatt Pinion Pointe & we took several picts from the parking lot.The sky was so beautiful . One of my pict, that i took at 7:33 PM, shows a very little white spot on the sky to the NW. I downloaded them when back in LVegas) then I saw what I photographed: If zooming in, you can see like the "spot" had moved in zig-zag.

Venus? It appears as a brilliant yellow star many times brighter than any other star in the sky. It is 18 times BRIGHTER than the brightest star Sirius (located in the southeast) and 75 times brighter than Capella (the bright star located nearly over head in the evening). It can be SO bright in fact, that it can be fairly easy to see in broad daylight.

Every once in a while I notice it - even when there are no other "stars" out.

also in kingman we have seen what looked like airplanes crashing to the ground ,just huge bright light plunging downward but no crash..they have been reported throughout the past two weeks here..i figured it to be a meteor coming down at one time and about two hrs later the sky and air was full of dust looked like fog rolled in.Something is going on no doubt..Great job again guys take care.

That's odd. I almost wonder if it's not something to do with the maintenance they're doing on the Hubble right now. Given the size and intensity, it seems unlikely. I have an old Polaroid of something similar, but at a lower altitude. You can see a reflection on a sort of curvature, but that's all. There was no noise or anything when I took it.
