  • C-SPAN kicks ass, by the way.

  • She makes some fine points, too. I am just tired of others pretending that it is not technologically possible to achieve maximum efficiency from gasoline, or other energy means. I have a friend in Canada who developed a high mileage carb and he has told me that the oil refiners intentionally blend their fuels in such a manner as to ensure that maximum efficiency cannot be achieved. Who regulates that? They can regulate who gets a boner pill, but not something like oil refining for efficiency?

  • He does make some fine points. Here is the issue. The regulatory agencies do not regulate what they should. It is always about profit. It is rarely about technological advancement, unless it is beneficial to do so in the name of profit. They could have built 4,000 cars that got 50 mpg, 50 years ago. They didn't. Profit. One hand washes the other. The dollar is also pegged to oil. How many of you still have a telegram machine? Or a rotary phone? Those advancements are profitable. Greed and fear.
