Why would TATA do such a move (purchase jaguar and land rover)Ford bought jaguar for 5 billion us$ and didn't make any profit plus land rover has bad reliability. TATA might be making the same mistake Ford did.

tata would benefit by merging technologies with land rover. Off-roading + 4x4 technology could be fused with TATA SUV models.

Jaguar-- BAD MOVE this thing is a furnace that runs on dollar bills. But who knows, maybe they want an entrance into the high end vehicle market and can make it profitable by lowering manufacturing costs.

If Ford had been more adventurous with Jaguar instead of sharing its compentents with inferior Fords. Land rover now has impeccable rebiality in europe and the world and they are still the best 4x4s anywhere. I am not complete anti-ford, they done a fantastic job with Aston Martin and left them now in a great position and even better, in British ownership.
