@Daemonus666 Dunlop do a good microfelt pick in 2mm. I'm quite pleased with it, the shops question me everytime I stock up on the heaviest picks they sell. Tremolo picking can get quite demanding for precisision...

@Daemonus666 Can help with control. It's tonal qualities might be a bit less but if your gain is up, nobody notices much anyway. I started out with a 1mm pick a while back and everytime I see something thicker, I grab it just to try it out. Some of them wear out in a matter of weeks, some last a couple of months.

@Daemonus666 Nope. I never actually learnt "how to play the guitar". I studied riffs and song structures and picked out of them what I felt like I needed to be able to do. I never planned to learn the guitar but after a friend quit on me I decided to invest in one so I could write my own stuff without his help. So far I'm part way through a couple of tracks that sound something along the lines of a weird Walknut/Primordial/Ulver influenced sound with odd moments of Burzum.

True that the revolution ended early, but Black Metal is a lot about atmosphere and blackness too, otherwise bands like Immortal who don't make satan and antichristianity a topc of their music wouldn't be BM. It doesnt have to be fast or just power chords, a lot of finger moving riffs are also utilised, but BM must be underground and it must be acknowledged that its a counter move to mainstream Death Metal. I like undergound Death Metal, but not popular stuff, same for popular BM like Dimmu.
