@chris45050 What I like about Rodimus is the fact that, unlike Optimus, he isn't perfect. He's stubborn, has self-doubt, and is hot-headed. Still, he is a great leader since he manages to overcome more adversity than Optimus did during Optimus' time as leader. He has to fight upgraded Decepticons like Galvatron, Cyclonus, and Scourge and watch out for the Autobots' new ememies, the Quintessons. People can relate more to Rodimus than they can to Optimus.

Well directed and holds up until now. This scene had a lot going making it memorable, dialogue, soundtrack. I imagine it would have been easy just to make a movie to sell toys, but the people who worked on this really MADE a movie. The problem with Rodimus is the writers never gave him a chance to forge his own legacy as the Autobot leader. He spent most of the next season constantly worrying that he couldn't live up to Optimus Prime's legacy.

Look at 3:52. And tell me he didn't have to potential to be a total badass in the next season. But they blew it because they were already planning for Optimus' return.

But as you said, it was thrown out the window during season 3 because the writters didn't give a shit. Nowadays, nobody even cares about Rodimus anymore. And well... That's just sad. At least to me. @MiketheCabbie Yes, in that case, the writers goofed big time. Take a look at "The Ultimate Weapon"; Rodimus took out Menasor while only having Ultra Magnus's help. Another thing that bothers me is the fact that the only episode that featured a one-on-one fight between Rodimus and Galvatron was "Starscream's Ghost." And that battle was truncated as far as what you actually got to see. Galvatron did stumble back to the Decepticon fortress on Chaar and he did look heavily damaged.

@MiketheCabbie So Galvatron must have received a substantial beating from Rodimus at the end of "Starscream's Ghost," just like what used happened to Megatron throughout his duels with Optimus. What's strange is that in The Headmasters episode, "Cybertron is in Grave Danger," Galvatron nearly kills Rodimus during a fair fight. And then, after Cybertron is nearly destroyed, Rodimus just bails on the Autbots to look for a new world. So Headmasters gives Rodimus more of a raw deal than season 4.

The "arise scene" is epic. I don't remember much of season 3, especially not the characters, but in the movie, one I really like, Hot Rod is a great leadcharacter, being a classic, imperfect hero, who first blows it and finally saves everyone. They should have left him Rodimus Prime after Optimus' revival. Why not have two Primes? And why does loosing the Matrix changes RP back to HR but Optimus doesn't change at all? Is it explained in the series?

@ReducedFatEric the reason Optimus was brought back was because of the unexpected Uproar his death caused. you don't just KILL OFF a main character so violently, and expect there to be no problem. they could have just as easily simply had him be incapacitated, and forced to pass on his position while he recovers.
