A lot of people are talking about Mercedes being lazy, but when you're not super lithe and muscular, it's PAINFUL (not to mention embarrassing) to do the same moves that other people are doing. Speaking as a female performer who is more curvy than many others, choreography can be a lot harder. And Mercedes has it much harder- that choreography was difficult, and possibly even dangerous for her if her ankles were hurting. Dancing can be taxing on the body.

Imagine always being 2nd best when you are THE BEST. Mercedes just got tired of playing 2nd fiddle to Rachel, and I don't blame her. Being in glee is about everyone shining not just one person, and Mercedes felt like she was just as good as Rachel (which she is). Mercedes is incredible, and when you overshadow the best talent they either end up leaving or someone else makes them into stars. Mercedes only acted that way to get ahead, she gave Rachel a taste of her own medicine.
