Why dub in an echo when Katherine's vocal quality is more pleasant to hear. Comparing the operatic singing of the song to the original will have people on both sides showing their preference in music. A good song by Jenkins but has has done better with more classical type opera songs where her voice really stands out.
Only the end of this video looks good. The rest are just vanity shots... It's a good cover, but I agree that it really is missing something. It's like it's incomplete. And gimme a break with this whole original vs cover bullshit. The Evanescence version is nu-metal, this is opera. Completely different genres, how can you compare them? I would take Amy Lee in a heartbeat as they're pretty girls (even prettier than Katherine) throughout the classical scene all of whom cant write music.
I love Katherine and her version of this song but I have to say: I find it hilarious how she's singing in the rain yet her hair remains dry and curly! XP
..........This is awesome but the background music occupying her needs to be umped....this could sound so epic. The possibilities. It needs a nightwish (or even Within Temptations) feel......that band has an operatic quality to it so if you took their background music and added it to this...my god.....it would be epic.

I don't think that she shouldn't have covered it because she made it sound different. No, she shouldn't have covered it because it has a very personal and special meaning to the author and she probably doesn't even know what it's actually about. However she can't portray the authenticity Amy provides.

I'm getting really tired of people saying how she messed this song up. Music is music is music. It's just a different take on it, she tried a more classical approach, and I think she did a great job. Those of you who bitch about how she's stealing this song, get real, it's called a cover for a reason. She's not Amy, which is exactly why this song is different from the original. 3 thumbs way up!
