Yeah you must have approached him in an off manner and on a bad day, as he comes by me almost everyday and he is super friendly and they bring my watermelons to the door. I am with solarman if you would have bought something and asked him he would have been happy to ablige you. The documentary that Andre Jones made about him just won a top award at the NY Film Festival. Go Mr. Okra we love you!
You must have caught him on a bad day - he was very friendly when I met him. (And also, I bought some fruit from him - that would have been a nice thing to do before you took his photo.)
