YAY, so glad that Megan from easyaccessbeauty pointed me in your direction, your sense of humor is fabulous. Do you watch a lot of British TV, because that is what you remind me of. And now I am finding myself watching all of your videos even though I should be asleep.
@MouserNerd Oh I missed this question! :) I don't watch a TON of British TV but probably more than the average american. I'm a French and Saunders fan so, of course have watched AbFab to death. The Vicar of Dibley was also a favorite show of mine. Over the past year or so my AbFab marathons have been tragically tossed aside though, when I started watching the Aussie show, Kath and Kim like a crack addict. It's AMAZING and I recommend it to anyone who likes British humor (er... "humour") LOL :)
@Str8UPdork Joanna Lumley is FABULOUS! Did you ever you watched any of "Up In Town?" There are clips on YouTube - Look up: "Up In Town Rat Problem" It's my favorite!!! xoxo
@dustyohunter i should read my messages more lol up in town rat problem i will have to check it out. i was watching clips of them freaking out and Patsy says "is it a bee" and they are find her phone and say its a small shoe lol
Dusty, I have a question for you: if you mix the "shiny" mixing medium stuff with a pigment and then put it on your eyes would you get a wet-look effect (similar to how vaseline/gloss looks) that actually wouldn't crease or would it not be that dramatic?
@jjpp412 i have the "shine" and yes it will create the glossy look over eyeshadows, just dab some of the "shine" onto the eyelid and it'll work and if anything the mixing medium should make the shadow last longer, ive seen many MAC artists do this. hope it helped : )
@jjpp412 you can do that or like vintagecar6 was saying, you can also dab it on top of a finished eye look for a glossy look. everything will crease over time though, some people will get creasing faster than others. it's also good to remember that part of the "look" of a glossy eye IS the creasing. (it's more editorial than every day in most cases but can be done as an everyday look, depending on the products you use - i've done "everyday glossy eye" with a single lid color and it looks pretty)
@dustyohunter@vintagecar6 thanks both of you! it certainly sounds like what I've been looking for to do a glossy eye... I can't wait to order it and start testing it out!
I really love all your videos and i just purchased the mac pro mixing medium eyeliner and the other one in shine. i have extremly oily eyelids and they both creased within 4 hours and i have tried MANY differerent products for my eyelids such as UDPP and TFSI. i have stilla's smudge pot and seems to work the best but only for about 6 hours and i would love some tips/advice/product that would stop this problem. or if someone else would comment to help would be much appreciated. thanks so much : )

There's a show on Discovery Channel called Oddities. It's like Pawn Stars, only the store sells things like straight jackets, mummified cats, embalming tables, two-headed cows, and freaky shit like that. Very bizarre. Quite entertaining.
I just started watching the A-list too!!!! Arghhhhh guilty pleasure. Can I just tell you that I am a newbie subbie and this was my first video of yours and I just loved it. Something really soothing about your energy. I'll be back for sure XXXXX
Well then, I think NIN should re-do "Finally" Nine Inch Nails style! Wouldn't that be cool? Thanks for mentioning the Matte Mixing Medium. Haven't found an eyeshadow base that I adore yet. Will try it. But I can't find products on the MAC Pro site because they moved them to the regular site. Can't find the pro products there either. Did a live chat and twice I got this same girl named Taneisha that never knows shit! Frustrating. Love your vids, love your website!
@Aqualina1 the mac pro site kind of sucks now. but if you aren't a pro memeber you could never order from the site anyway... just call the number on the site and they'll tell you where you need to go to place an order - you can also just find a mac pro store anywhere in the country and they'll ship to you if you place a phone order with them :)
Err this is kind of a random question, but you mentioned Studio Fix Fluid here...I know you have normal/dry skin, and I have skin that leans towards dry most of the year except for the summer. I have Studio Fix Fluid and I love the way it looks, but it makes my face feel so tight because it is so drying. What can I do?
@shuppet88 I would suggest making sure you're wearing a good moisturizer underneath the foundation. Because Studio Fix Fluid has silicone products in it already, you don't NEED a silicone primer underneath it (which can dry the skin out more). I tend to favor oils for moistuzer on my skin. Aveda's All Sensetive oil blend is really nice! Coconut oil, shea butter or cocoa butter are also a great. They absorb fast and leave the skin soft and really well hydrated! :)
I am addicted to so many shows its not even funny where to start "Legend of the Seeker", Drop Dead Diva ( live for that show! OMG!), and yes Glee!! damn it but yes!, Cougar Town, and yes even The Vampire Diaries ( what can I say I'm a sucker for a good sucker! ), Merlin tv series on the BBC. So far those are my addictions I dont need help really I can quit watching anytime I want, who would want to!
just subscribed and i love your channel! you are so real in your reviews i don't mind sitting through a long video, are you a makeup artist? do you freelance?
The original 'Rocky' movie. If you havn't seen it you should check it out. It was a huge hit when it was first released...then people started making fun of it....which is too bad cause it's a fab film !
@Cynjoy19 Silly! Of course I've seen it! ;) I would say it's done well for itself over the years... It's made back it's production costs some 116 times over. I'd say that's pretty good revenue! :)
Yay! I'm so glad you made another monthly mentionables- I had gone to MAC to get all the TArtan Tale stuff the day it was released, and didn't even know they had the little bears;so I went out and got mine! Also, I had got it at the pro shop on south beach, but I bought some other products like the chrome line gels in some of the pro colors and I was wondering if I could use the colors, that the little paper says are not safe for the lip and eye area, if they are actually safe?
@xxparvanehxx What that paper means is that they aren't TESTED for use in the eye or lip area and may cause irritation. MOST pro products aren't tested as much as their other products. I assume that's because, while anyone can buy them, most pro products are multi-use "professional" products. I've never had trouble with any of them, if you want to be cautious you can, personally I'd spray paint someone's face if it gave me the look I was after. LOL!
I'm 23 years old and I watch Spongebob religiously, even though it's pretty much always reruns.
Have you used Make Up For Ever's HD Foundation? I haven't tried MAC's Studio Fix Fluid, but I was wondering how Chanel's Pro Lumiere compares to MUFE HD.
@CCLunesse i tried it for the first time earlier today actually! i wanted to hate it REALLY bad! (i don't need any more foundation) but i may actually love it. UGH! different from chanel's though. MUFE is more matte, less of a "glow" happening. but it looked more like skin... just slightly powdered skin. i wore it over lancome's primer. it looked really REALLY good.
@HillbillyKate lol! i used to watch sailor moon years ago when it was broadcast here i the us. my favorites are dramatic soap style ones (oh my goddess) and any kind of comedy anime with lots of sex. or at least a dirty sense of humor. lol!
I have been using ProLumiere for months and love it! But I am one of those people that love switching my foundation... but you just made me want to keep at it till the winter dies down... any who... my guilty pleasure...ahh.. is spanish soap operas... i love them... especially old versions (corazon salvaje is one of my favorites)... their just soo freaking cheesy tho....any who Lovw youe Channel and Love watching... god that sounds creepy... totally in the non creepy way :0P
I'm a junkie for police procedural shows. While I am rather discriminating (I don't like any CSI or NCIS shows), I love Law and Order: SVU and Criminal Minds. I'll watch the other Law & Order shows, but SVU is my fave. I've seen every episode, and no, I'm not exaggerating. Every. Episode. This year I started watching Detroit 1-8-7. It's pretty good. I'm from Michigan so that probably has something to do with it. That, and I find Michael Imperioli strangely attractive....
Hi there. What color tile did you end up using in the kitchen? I am loving the Eve Pearl Salmon concealer. It is the best I have ever used. My fav prior to the EP was the BB. Did you know that her concealer is also a treatment? I am loving it. I have asked every guru on here to check it out. Consider it when you place an order. She should be having another 50% of sale coming up with the holidays. I am holding off until then Take care.
@CalicoCatMissPeachs Cool! I got a pro application for EP but it's only 30% off if approved so I'll be keeping my eyes out for a holiday sale (I signed up for their mailing list). The concealer IS pretty amazing. The texture is not like anything I've ever used before! And you really need so little!
The tile we wound up with is a dark grey-ish granite. Neither of the ones I had in my video! LOL! It's not installed yet. We're working on several areas of the house at once. It's a mess! LOL!
My shameful tv favorites are in the "teenagers with problems" genre. I wasn't into them when I was in the demographic, but now that I'm in my mid 20s, I find them so unfortunately compelling. I was really into the first two seasons of Skins and lately it's been Degrassi. I like the Inbetweeners too but that one is an intentional comedy.
I heard a lot of positive ratings, but your convinced me.It is a lot of money, after all..I have tryed and bought it.Have to admit, is a special one..Thanks!
Ok, my mother is looking for the A-List show now....
You have been almost a year here?? OMG...The first video I saw was the nyx jumbo review video. That was the 18th of April, and I saw the video on Temptalia (just googled it) :) "Its an odd smell...it's like...baby powder..burning something...burning babies!". Since that second, I'm in :P Thank you Dusty
I am addicted to America's Next Top Model and Keeping Up with the Kardashians. I'm so ashamed!! Haha, I live in Australia, and I don't watch any of those horrible shows, thank goodness!
Oooh the mixing medium sounds good, hopefully I'll get hold of it one day, thanks for heads up. You gotta light the candle mate, do it do it. Do you mind if I use your monthly mentionables? it's much more appropriate for me than favourites. What's the colour range like for Pro-lumiere? I'm NC44. I love Con Air, I love all the one liners!!! Enjoyed you vid as always, I can happily listen to you ramble away. x
@dianeuk01 they do go darker, but if i recall the darkest shade wasn't available at nordstrom (even on line) i found it on chanel's site i think. but i don't know HOW dark it is.
I have cover songs of Trent Reznor when he was in Option 30 singing Der Kommissar by Falcoand Lies by the Thompson Twins. They are fucking hilarious because you can tell it's him, but it's so opposite of NIN.
@JacquelineJinse sure: buy it. lol! seriously i am working on a review for it and other "luxury" foundations (foundations over the $60.00 mark). it'll be a little while before it's done but i will do it! :)
Not sure if you have heard of the show "Neighbours", but it is a really REALLY bad australian soap opera, and it's totally my guilty pleasure. Thanks for another great video!
@Chickology i've heard of it yes :) we don't get it here though. i only have an addiction to one australian show and it's kath and kim. it's a REALLY bad addiction too! i've seen is so much that i actually find kel knight attractive. seriously. i would have my way with him in a heartbeat ;)
it'd be noice... diff'rend... and very very un'yooosual.
I'm gonna have to get some of that Chanel *pocketbook squeals* I love watching your vids, always informational, fun & I trust your opinion. Would love to meet you one day! I really only come down that way while driving through to the ocean though, so I think you're safe. ;) <3
I love reality tv shows and I am not embarrassed to admit to it. I love "Flipping out", ALL the "Real Housewives" shows (the OC, Atlanta, BH, NY, NJ, and DC), "Big Brother", "The Rachel Zoe Show", "Bethanny getting married", and other shows like "So you think you can dance" and "The Colbert Report". Some of these shows are not on right now, but when they are on I watch them each week.
@XBaseballBarbieX did you love the walking dead?! i thought it was great! even if it's not the best show - i'm excited to get to watch a show with zombies in it ever week! jay has been reading the walking dead comics for years so he's pretty into the show too :)
@dustyohunter Dude the opening scene with the little girl, i was like no he's not gonna do it it's AMC, and then BOOM! Blew me away. I'm sure it's gonna get better, I'm excited to see The Governor make his appearance. If Jay reads this he knows what I'm talking about, He's a cool guy in my book. Do you guys read any Niles/ Templesmith stuff?
@XBaseballBarbieX you took the words right out of my mouth! we were watching it and i thought, "oh great, AMC's never gonna let a little girl get shot." THEN THEY DID! I was like "WOW!" lol! and no we haven't... jay would probably be into it though.
@dustyohunter Steve Niles wrote the 30 Days of Night comics, but I recommend the Cal McDonald comics starting with " Savage Membrane" it's a John McClaine meets the super natural type thing. So I'm kind of worried what direction this show is going from the 2nd episode, just a tad. lol
Your awesome Dustin! lol I'm totally embarrassed to admit (I usually don't like reality tv either) I'm addicted to The Real Housewives of Atlanta. For shame! FOR SHAME! LOL
OMG...you think you are embarrassed? I got addicted to Jersy Shore (cringes)! It was a complete accident. It's like a car wreck and I can't look away! The A List sounds good. I need to check that out.
Old school Madonna, Prince, REO Speedwagon, and Hall & Oates. Guilty pleasures. I can't help it. I'd say secret guilty pleasures, but they're no secret from my friends and family. I jam that shit hard and I don't care who knows. lol :(
you can also get EvePearl make-up on hautelook... sometimes.. that's the only way i'll buy it because i find it pretty pricey... so just keep an eye out on there.
Thanks for the review. I am interested in seeing your review of Youngblood. As I am not a big fan of mineral foundations. I have not found one that works on deeper skintones. Oh yeah..I love Housewives of Atlanta..I think everyone has an "Inner Nene"
My cousin got me hooked on The Housewives of Beverly Hills. I hate reality TV. Reality is hard , lets just go for fantasy. I am soooooo embarrassed. I guess living their reality isn't so bad. Money, Money and more Money.
My guilty pleasure TV shows are Americas Next Top Model, Gossip Girl (seriously, it's an addictive show, where you HAVE to watch the next episode to find out what happens), and Project Runway. :)
@SparklemotionX if you're going to reprimand me then please spell my name right. there's a "t" in there ;) what do you mean by "turning commercial?" explain at once! :)
could you possibly make a video explaining what specifically certain mediums are used for? and what's the best product for purposes; like should i use the matte gloss, mixing medium the water based one or the one you're showing for eyeshadow/pigment/glitter use.
I have the same love hate relationship with The A List...I also really like logo's 1 Girl 5 Guys (or 5 Guys 1 Girl, can't remember which way it is worded). If you haven't seen it it is 1 straight girl and 5 gay guys answering all of these awkward and taboo life, sex and relationship questions!
i usually watch glee, gossip girl, hellcats, and the office but lately my latest obsession is true blood!!! its so dirty but so good!!! my little bad addiction :)
@sweetkandy213 no you don't. just call the number on the pro site and they will tell you where you need to go to order. the pro card only gives you a discount. you can also call ANY pro store directly and order from them (that's the easiest way to do it).
i love to watch tv, none i would necessarily be embarrassed by, Gossip Girl, maybe! ALL the Real Housewives, I will have to check out the A List. I love the series the Logo reruns - Buffy! LOVE BUFFY!
i'm pretty much embarrassed about 55% of the music i listen to especially when i'm with my boyfriend (HUGE metalhead). i do love metal but i have a thing for falsettos and lady gaga, ha!
my guilty tv shows are iron chef on the food network ... and hoarders on a&e. especially hoarders. i feel like such a creeper for watching it, but i totally love it.
i'm always embarrassed to admit i've read the twilight books (i'm way to old, and i have no kids to blame it on). my husband gives me endless s&@# about it.
@TheKingsofleon5 not a stupid question! you're the second person to ask here actually. i haven't tried it. i'm sure it would work though, but it's a small container for $18.00 even if it did work well, it might not be the most cost effective primer for foundaton.
I am addicted to a British show that is aimed for a teen demographic (I am 32), called Skins. I can't help it. For the past couple months I've been anxiously waiting for the next season to begin so that I can start downloading and watching it again. It's sad bordering on pathetic. It's like Gossip Girl minus the excessive riches and WAY more grit. It's great...but I don't tell anyone I watch a teen show.
My guilty TV pleasure is Eastenders (a soap opera set in the east end of London.) It's nothing like the real east end and the storylines are often far-fetched, but I still watch it religiously. I just can't help myself.
I honestly don't watch TV, and new music isn't really my thing (I'm a mostly "classical" musician, I have little reason to keep up with this stuff)... but oh my gosh I've been rewatching Futurama like you would not believe. You ever get a word stuck in your head? Well I've got one in mine. Slurm. Eurgh.
@luciusfluff alright miss "classical" musician ;) hehe! futurama is a great show! i also love the turangalila symphony by olivier messiaen. but i confess, i do SO love my 20th century composers: olivier messiaen, karlheinz stockhausen, even john cage and charles ives or maurice ravel. these composers are all huge inspirations to me!
@dustyohunter Well I say "classical" because most people don't know that the Classical era refers to a particular time period rather than the whole genre... and it just happens to be my least liked era in pre-20th century music. I'm a Baroque nerd.
I have my favorite bands, but I can't keep up with the Top 40s scene. It all sounds the same to me and I get bored after a few minutes. Blah.
(Also... Zoidberg is pretty much me in a shell. I love him in a bad way. I wonder what that says about me?)
@dustyohunter But oh my gosh my music theory professor HATED John Cage. I was entertained half to death by him though I'm rather less than fond of the avant-garde shtick. I'm sure my mind's just not open enough for that sort of thing, in a way that could only be cured with a certain amount of chemicals.
Jersey Shore. and Ke$ha. I adore Ke$ha.

Will try it. But I can't find products on the MAC Pro site because they moved them to the regular site. Can't find the pro products there either. Did a live chat and twice I got this same girl named Taneisha that never knows shit! Frustrating. Love your vids, love your website!
Aqualina1 1 year ago

What can I do?
shuppet88 1 year ago
@shuppet88 I would suggest making sure you're wearing a good moisturizer underneath the foundation. Because Studio Fix Fluid has silicone products in it already, you don't NEED a silicone primer underneath it (which can dry the skin out more). I tend to favor oils for moistuzer on my skin. Aveda's All Sensetive oil blend is really nice! Coconut oil, shea butter or cocoa butter are also a great. They absorb fast and leave the skin soft and really well hydrated! :)
dustyohunter 1 year ago
I am addicted to so many shows its not even funny where to start "Legend of the Seeker", Drop Dead Diva ( live for that show! OMG!), and yes Glee!! damn it but yes!, Cougar Town, and yes even The Vampire Diaries ( what can I say I'm a sucker for a good sucker! ), Merlin tv series on the BBC. So far those are my addictions I dont need help really I can quit watching anytime I want, who would want to!

theresabmcintyre 1 year ago
Yay! I'm so glad you made another monthly mentionables- I had gone to MAC to get all the TArtan Tale stuff the day it was released, and didn't even know they had the little bears;so I went out and got mine! Also, I had got it at the pro shop on south beach, but I bought some other products like the chrome line gels in some of the pro colors and I was wondering if I could use the colors, that the little paper says are not safe for the lip and eye area, if they are actually safe?
xxparvanehxx 1 year ago
@xxparvanehxx What that paper means is that they aren't TESTED for use in the eye or lip area and may cause irritation. MOST pro products aren't tested as much as their other products. I assume that's because, while anyone can buy them, most pro products are multi-use "professional" products. I've never had trouble with any of them, if you want to be cautious you can, personally I'd spray paint someone's face if it gave me the look I was after. LOL!

Have you used Make Up For Ever's HD Foundation? I haven't tried MAC's Studio Fix Fluid, but I was wondering how Chanel's Pro Lumiere compares to MUFE HD.
CCLunesse 1 year ago
@CCLunesse i tried it for the first time earlier today actually! i wanted to hate it REALLY bad! (i don't need any more foundation) but i may actually love it. UGH! different from chanel's though. MUFE is more matte, less of a "glow" happening. but it looked more like skin... just slightly powdered skin. i wore it over lancome's primer. it looked really REALLY good.

CalicoCatMissPeachs 1 year ago

For the past couple months I've been anxiously waiting for the next season to begin so that I can start downloading and watching it again. It's sad bordering on pathetic. Slurm. Eurgh.
luciusfluff 1 year ago
@luciusfluff alright miss "classical" musician ;) hehe! futurama is a great show! i also love the turangalila symphony by olivier messiaen. but i confess, i do SO love my 20th century composers: olivier messiaen, karlheinz stockhausen, even john cage and charles ives or maurice ravel. these composers are all huge inspirations to me!
and professor farnsworth rocks ;) hehe
dustyohunter 1 year ago
@dustyohunter Well I say "classical" because most people don't know that the Classical era refers to a particular time period rather than the whole genre... and it just happens to be my least liked era in pre-20th century music. I'm a Baroque nerd.
I have my favorite bands, but I can't keep up with the Top 40s scene. It all sounds the same to me and I get bored after a few minutes. Blah.
(Also... Zoidberg is pretty much me in a shell. I love him in a bad way. I wonder what that says about me?)
luciusfluff 1 year ago
@luciusfluff i often yell, "i'm helping" like zoidberg (usually when i do something in the kitchen) lol
dustyohunter 1 year ago
@dustyohunter But oh my gosh my music theory professor HATED John Cage. I was entertained half to death by him though I'm rather less than fond of the avant-garde shtick. I'm sure my mind's just not open enough for that sort of thing, in a way that could only be cured with a certain amount of chemicals.
