Man i have to say that. You're great. You're smart. You're creative. On every Arduino project you've made, there's a touch of genius. You can say that you've achieved the goal of the Arduino philosophy: make it work and simply be creative. My true compliments. For real.
this is fuckin cool. i really appreciate unconventional stuff like this. awesome work man. what kinda cable are you using for audio output from the phone?
@mblavis77 I'm with you dude, He's raping the fuck out of his phone for some cool original ideas. I could totally do somthing creative with some of these sounds i'm sure, give it to deadmau5 and he'd prlly do somthing fuckin insane cool with this. Awsome vid dude 5*. Cheers, IC.
And what do you do with yoru free time eh? Post shitty ass comments on youtube videos? Hes doing something productive, entertaining people and enjoying himself. WHy dont you try to do the same eh?
hmm. have you any suggestions on how it could be optimised? it could be that future releases of j2me would support a given brand / model better (?). i am pretty sure that i have tried it on at least one nokia mobile (but it was a fairly new one). cheerio,
It is a Motorola K1, the exact error msg is: "java.lang.RuntimeException: cannot play tone.".
Still this does not change my opinion (TOO COOL!), as your work/blog/youTube finally gave me a good entry-point to learn Java! Doing so with Mobile Processing is more motivating than the boring business-stuff/button-pushing games you find for mobiles :-)
So this will end up in lovable apps for my music/media-art stuff PLUS knowledge that helps to pay the rent & fill the fridge.
oh, okay. i made it and tested it on my sony ericsson k610i, where it has worked without any errors at all. i have tried it on a number of other sony ericsson models, and it seems to work fine there also however, other brands / models report various errors.
Hi there, i have updated my blog to include the Java J2ME build of this app, as well as the source code. You are welcome to visit the link in the video info and download the build and install it on your phone.
All you need to do is copy it to your (newish) phone and select 'install'. You can do this via bluetooth, IR, USB or a phone memory card, depending on your type of phone.
well its very basic. the keys 1 to 9 play the A minor scale. the left arrow changes the octave to lower, the right arrow changes the octave to higher. but it is fun to do, yeah.

Why don't YOU do something more productive with YOUR time such as teasing my testicles with your tonsils. Now that I would find entertaining.
Mowac 3 years ago
As would I my friend, as would I.
Maybe we could arrange somthing...

It would be great if you add an sequencer to the software. A simple 16-step sequencer where you can put a number (1-9) on each step.

what the fuck how do u think of this

load that into FL Studio add some beats and synths and you have yourself a hit.

transponderfish 4 years ago
cool.
but does it work on your phone at all, or does it just go straight to the error?
littlescale 4 years ago
It plays a very short note, then a short pause followed by a crackle (two impulses, I think). If I press a button before this crackle, it crashes.
Hope this helps!
